The woman who served me, and who was handling cash, picked up an unwrapped cone in her bare hands, topped it with ice cream, and passed it to me. I had already paid or I'd have told her to keep it. I ate the ice cream from the top and threw the remainder away. This is a screaming indication of the level of attention to sanitary practices at Kate's, ensuring that I would never eat anything from their kitchen. If they do this in front of a customer, what are they doing when they cannot be seen? I feel uneasy just thinking about it.
