Picking up an online order was fairly easy once you maneuver through the shop, since the space itself isn't very large. During my visit, there were about six employees standing among customers, so the store can get crowded quickly. The staff came across as somewhat stern, but it may have just been the holiday fatigue working in retail, so I don't want to judge the service too harshly. My mom and I have been shopping at this store for over 15 years and have bought over 20 bags and wallets between the two of us. My mom, more than anyone I know, takes pride in taking care of her things. All of her bags are in like new condition. We visited the store this weekend because two of her bags, which are otherwise in perfect condition, had straps that were starting to rip. One bag is about 8 years old and the other about 4 years old. Neither have been used constantly for this amount of time, but rather for a short seasonal period of time every year. Her other bags, about the same age or older, in this rotation from the Coach and MK outlets are not showing any sign of this problem, while both of her Kate bags are. The manager came out to speak with us, and we were met with condescension. Her response to these bags, which showed no evidence of wear and tear other than the broken straps, was that "they (Kate Spade) haven't had many problems with straps" and that "these bags are old", both of which are non sequiturs. We were literally standing there with a strap problem, so even if it isn't a common problem (which I highly doubt; people probably just buy new ones when this happens), it was her job to help us figure out how to fix it. She said that the quality of Kate Spade products is not a question, while staring directly at two clearly damaged handbags where the damage was not a result of misuse. She further condescended to us that sometimes there are problems with bags when they're left in hot cars, insinuating that these bags, which again showed no other signs of wear or damage, would only be affected by heat on the strap and no where else. With a hand wavy comment, she added that we could try a leather repair store, without any suggestion of where to go. We were extremely disappointed in the service and the quality of the bags, as it seems they are not meant to last more than 3-5 years, even if you take great care of them. Given the price, we would've hoped for much better, and most importantly, we would hope to be treated with respect. We will not be shopping at Kate Spade anymore, and if you're hoping for a bag that lasts and for helpful customer service after you've bought the bag, we recommend you do the same. read more

Great store! I needed a new purse and did not have good luck (terrible) at a different store. I went to Kate Spade and was greeted and helped upon entering. I didn't get the store associates name, but she has dark hair and bold eyeliner and was fantastic! She helped me and I was able to get the purse I needed and the experience was fantastic. I was unsure if they carry a certain color bag they I was looking for. The actual bag a customer just grabbed the last one. I asked the lady if she had more of that same handbag. No more in stock. UPDATE as of 06/13/21. Went to store today because email states 1 day deal $89 handbag. The advertised handbag WAS NOT available in store. The email ad DID NOT specify whether in store or online either. I choose a different handbag available. Tiffany waited on me. She gave me some nice suggestions on bag chose. Had a great experience in Kate Spade this weekend ! I bought a KS purse while on vacation in Florida this summer and accidentally got pen all over it a couple of weeks ago. It occurred to me to go into Kate Spade while I was at the outlets to see what they recommend for me to do. Instead of just handing me a product to buy, the cashier was so nice and offered to clean it for me. She managed to get most of it off! Score! I will absolutely be picking up a bottle of their leather cleaner and work on the rest on my own. There were so many adorable items. I especially had my eye on a gorgeous down coat that I may go back and get soon! It was so hard to leave it there. You can always count on Kate Spade for quality! read more

There's lots of pretty stuff in here just in time for spring. Pricing is probably about right. The staff acknowledges you without being pushy. The problem is, I couldn't find anything I wanted to buy because the design of the purses just aren't to my taste although they are pretty. The zipper was weird, the top exposes the contents, the handles are too big, there's just not enough space inside... whatever the issue, design just didn't work for me on any of their styles. I love Kate Spade products, and I especially love Kate Spade products at a discount. I've purchased wallets, handbags, and totes from this outlet and I've always been pleased with my purchases. I visited last weekend and I was less than thrilled with my experience. It wasn't bad, don't get me wrong, but it also wasn't good. So that would make it average AKA A-OK AKA 3 stars... right? Right. So I walked in hoping to find a few gift items for friends, and no one even acknowledged my presence. No "hello", no "can I help you find anything?", no nothing. Again, this isn't the worst thing in the world - and in fact, I prefer this to pushy salespeople - BUT they had plenty of staff working on this particular Saturday, and they were not busy with other customers. When I walked in there were only one or two other customers in the shop and none of the salespeople were working with any of them. I guess the upside of this lack of acknowledgement is that it made it super easy for me to leave without any word to the staff.... not that they noticed my exit anyway. I guess the moral of the story is, if you're looking for a great Kate Spade deal and you're in Williamsburg, definitely stop into the outlet. I just left the store....that should say a lot of the service. I liked a couple bags in there, but due to the customer service and the lack of 'happiness' - robotic monotone voice, short 'hi. How are you'. No "what are you looking for?" "our current specials are.....". It seemed dark in the store - maybe the personality of the employees. At least pretend you like working there. One employee standing in middle of the store, one in the front and one at register standing and one going back and forth from the back. I mentioned this to the lady up front, her answer "oh I'm sorry you feel this way. But I'm not allowed to leave my station, I need to time the door" wow... So robotic and horrible customer service. I really enjoyed this store. They had a wide selection of goods - go with girlfriends rather than boyfriends (I'm not sure that boys get purses, and I didn't like feeling guilty about buying something I like - good for next time). This store had a wide range of items, many of them were classic, and in a range of prices. They were offering between and additional 30 to an additional 60% off the lowest ticketed price. Since I live in Richmond, I don't get to Kate Spade often; however, that is probably a blessing in disguise! haha Since I've only visited this store a handful of times in the last 6 months, I can't really say how diverse/trendy each season's selections are. Nevertheless, I always find way too many things I want to purchase each time I am here! I'd say some of the bags are more of an "outlet quality" and others have a more expensive retail look. All pretty good prices though. They also run specials during the holidays to make it extra affordable. They also have a great selections of wallets, clutches, and other accessories. Another great quality about this store is the staff. Every single time I've been in, everyone has been extremely helpful and friendly. It seems like they all enjoy their job, which is a plus! Horrible customer service at this location...they yelled at my mom when she asked for an extra bag to package the four bags and wallet we got in. They were condescending and rude to paying customers and two other sales associates came over in addition to the manager to tell my mom she couldn't have another bag for her purchase. I absolutely adore this store. I am an Optician and sell Kate Spade glasses and wear them myself so I decided I needed a bag on my 27th birthday! This girls were wonderful, I walked out with a brand new bag, wallet card, and makeup bag for $195.00.
