I would have paid a deposit but I'm paying $1,200 a month for insurance right now and can't afford a deposit. Dr. Novick told me himself that he only cuts toe nails and does preventative care. Why didn't they tell me weeks ago instead of going round and round with my insurance. I didn't realize there was so many podiatrist in Santa Cruz County. I'll take my business elsewhere. My left big toe had a new nail…read moregrowing under one that been injured and when the old one came off I discovered the new one was very thick and only at the nail bed with black discoloration. He said the landscape of my toe had changed and he could not guarantee the new nail would ever grow out normally/ He offered to prescribe a medication that could adversely affect my liver which was a big concern for me because I was already on medication for low kidney function. He failed to do a scraping of the black discoloration on the new nail which my internist said he should have. I have ingrown toenails and when he tried to trim the right big toenail to relieve the pressure, he cut it and it bled profusely. His nurse only offered me a bandaid and sent me on my way. My internist prescribed some topical medication so I would have no problems with my liver from the medication Dr Brenis was going to prescribe which required lab tests on my liver beforehand... Since that time my toenail has grown out normally, contrary to what Dr Brenis said. I would not go back there again, even to see another doctor in The Foot Doctor office where he practices.
