Dr Dix is the most caring doc you'll ever meet. You feel better just in her presence..she really really listens to you..then brings out every tool in her arsenal to help..you'll have to wait so be prepared for that. She spends a lot of time with each patient so it takes time. I have two busted ligaments in my ankle but Dr Dix has helped me avoid surgery. My right ankle was hurting and she helped me with the right footwear and arch support. This worked for a few years. Recently I've gone back to her after I started playing pickleball with the wrong footwear. She's used stimulation tens machines, ointments, orthotic adjustments etc, teaching me what my gait should be and given me shoes that help. She's a godsend! Highly recommend! read more

Dr Dix is amazing! She first helped me many years ago with plantar warts, and was able to get rid of them after many others had failed. Fast forward to this week I was getting ready to walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain and started having arch pain on training walks. I reached out to Brooke after not having seen her in years, and she fit me into her calendar the next business day (!). She did an extensive evaluation, including having me go to the shoe store over video, until we found the right shoe. Dr Dix goes so far above and beyond it's unreal. Dr. Dix is a sharp, caring professional who uses a holistic approach to treat her patients. An office visit with her is not a 15 minute in and out of the exam room experience. Dr. Dix does an in-depth assessment based on physical exam and a patient's history leading up to their appointment. She makes recommendations on the proper footwear for a patient's condition and, even has footwear in stock. My review is very long overdue. I saw Dr. Dix almost 2 years ago in Jan, 2016, after feeling some intense knee pain. As a marathon runner, the pain affected me considerably and slowed my running and training. After an xray and MRI concluded my knee had just an inflammation on my pes anserinus (hamstring attachment) and that my real problem was in my foot with my bunions and hallux valgus, those were the issues affecting my running which led to overcompensation in my other leg muscles which caused my knee pain. My one visit to Dr. Dix was great. She was very professional and very hands-on, in helping my try several fixes in my very first visit. She taped my big toe, let me try some metatarsal pads to ease the pressure on my ball of foot, and suggested some new shoes (casual and running) with better support and cushioning. After the visit I continued to search for additional tools like toe spacers, stiffer and custom insoles, and better shoes, all of which helped my running get back on track. After a year my running training performance got much better again, and I was back in my competitive group in my racing circuit. However, things keep evolving, and my foot has been changing again over time, as well as more running, and now taking ballet classes for the past year. I experiencing some newer issues, so it's time to see Dr. Dix again, but I look forward to getting educated on taking care of myself again. read more

OVERALL ASSESSMENT I've had consistently good experiences with Dr. Dix, after having worked with 4 Podiatrists in the Bay Area. Amongst a group of outstanding doctors that I have seen, including Dr. Judith Manzi, Dr. Dix has provided superior care compared to an excellent group of peers. FACILITIES Dr. Dix is located in what is apparently a very "high rent" district near the El Camino Hospital complex in Mountain View. The building is older, but is easy to find and includes great parking. I drove a full sized truck to her office and found ample parking in the complex during the middle of the day. Inside, the office is more than adequately spacious with a tasteful choice of magazines. Having seen multiple DPMs, I found nothing remarkable (positive or negative) concerning facilities. Plain vanilla office in an older building. EXPERTISE Here, Dr. Dix stands out. I am a runner and tennis player with persistent foot problems. Dr. Dix is a gifted diagnostician. She works with high energy and I observed that she has great attention to detail. Dr. Dix is absolutely solid in terms of experience and knowledge. COMMUNICATION Very clear explanations were provided. As important, she was a good listener - and asked many questions. Working with Dr. Dix was almost instantaneously comfortable and informal. I found myself asking her about other medical issues and opening up about concerns. I'll put it this way: If I were invited to a large dinner gathering, I'd prefer to sit next to Dr. Dix. Very easy and clear communication. BEDSIDE MANNER Dr. Dix is a caring doctor. My motivation for writing this review is to acknowledge that she took time to dig into my issues and showed genuine concern to get them fixed - beyond the range of experience I am accustomed to. Dr. Dix is a gem in this regard. ADMINISTRATION The administration staff (Nancy, whom I worked with) is professional and relaxed. I receive reminders about appointments, billing and paperwork was processed smoothly and without error. This was a drama-free and professional experience. OTHER I had never experienced this before, but Dr. Dix takes interest not only in fixing foot problems, but she has a high level of knowledge about shoes (athletic and dress) and how they may contribute to foot problems. I found this our after asking for advice concerning what shoe brands and types are best for my condition - shopping for shoes is a habitual hassle. I was pleased to see that she has resources, including a line of footwear available through the practice that are designed to (ironically) protect against need for a foot doctor. This review is long overdue. One of the most stressful things, for me, going into my surgery, was the fact that I never had surgery before and that I was more nervous than I was willing to admit. But as soon as Dr. Dix talked me through it, I felt a lot better. And thinking back to that moment now, I realize that what calmed my nerves was the caring way with which she addressed the whole situation. Now, I feel like she is part of my extended family. Dr. Dix is by far one of the best doctors in the world. Dr Brooke Dix was our podiatrist. My husband couldn't get an appointment at Stanford soon enough so he looked into yelp & found her to have a 5-star rating. We were impressed at how fast she acted on my husband's foot problem with the blood work, biopsy, MRI and got the granuloma removed through surgery - all this work in 5 days!! After surgery, she went into detail about what to expect in the next few weeks. She even checked up on my husband few hours after we arrived home to make sure everything was okay. My husband was on crutches and non weight bearing on his right foot but was in no pain. Overall, from clinic to surgery, the experience was very positive. We're grateful for the health insurance we have and for physicians like Dr Dix who really knows her stuff. I am beyond grateful for discovering Dr. Dix. This review doesn't do justice for how much she has truly helped me, and the amount of care and compassion she provides. I found Dr. Dix through Yelp, and I gave her a call to see if she could squeeze me into her schedule. She was kind enough to stay past her normal business hours to see me the same day. I explained to her my situation: For over a month, I was freaking out what was causing unusual tingling and numbness in my feet after standing for more than 10 minutes. I saw 2 other doctors, and they both had no real idea about what was causing my symptoms. After explaining my symptoms, she did a thorough exam and carefully reviewed all my labs, xrays, and MRIs. Dr. Dix ended up catching several anomalies in my xrays and MRIs that the 2 other doctors had missed!!! She relieved my anxiety tremendously when she explained what the sources of my symptoms are steming from. And most importantly she made a plan with me to help allievate my issues. Was very excited (and relieved) to finally have an answer to my medical mystery. She has since made me custom orthotics, and helped me select proper footwear for my particular foot issues. Dr. Dix has also been courtious enough to call me herself, and check in with me to see how my feet were doing over the past few months. I have ended up referring my parents to see Dr. Dix for their foot related issues, and they both have been very happy with their treatments. My father essentially has a new pair of feet, ever since Dr Dix has then using her laser machine to treat his toenail fungus. You rarely see doctors going above and beyond to provide excellent patient care. But Dr. Dix is one of those rare doctors that actually provides such great care and attention to detail to help her patients! Another perfect score for Dr. Dix! Dr. Dix was very thorough with her examination and even checked and retrofitted my orthotics -- even they were purchased else where -- for proper fit. She was very patient and checked everything to investigate the root cause of my foot pain. Dr. Brooke addressed an infected and damaged toenail - the result of accumulating sports injuries. I whole heartedly concur with any of the prior reviews. Her thorough knowledge and sharp tenacity are more than sufficient to win her specialty in assessing your concerns. But to me, in times of rapid and enormous growing medical discoveries and associated technologies, there is always the danger of losing the simple art of observation. That the clinical observation should become perfunctory - Dr. Brooke is exceptional in always considering the human context first. Dr Dix continues to provide careful, conscientious, compassionate podiatry services for me, and I am a complicated patient. She takes tremendous pride in doing a good job and does not rush. She will overbook you and see you after hours if your feet need more acute or subacute attention than regular appointments allow A key test of a doctor is whether or not the doctor can handle an unexpected course or result of a problem, and Dr. Dix is more than able to rise to challenges. Brought my kid to see Dr Dix for her flat foot. We were seeking a second opinion because the first podiatrist recommended physical therapy and a rest from exercise, which seem excessive for a little kid. Dr Dix spent more than twice the amount of time with us compared to the first podiatrist who was rushing to another appointment. She was patient and excellent with my squirming slightly hyper kid. She measured her limbs, analyzed her gait and checked our kid's current insoles for compatibility. Dr Dix discovered other problems besides flat foot because of her detailed analysis. I'm just glad that issues were uncovered earlier than later and Dr Dix was there to assure us parents that there are solutions and help. read more

Came in with a broken toe on Monday and loved Dr Dix the minute I met her. She has a great bedside manor, answered all my questions and explained things clearly. But here is where I felt she went above and beyond. I got my cast wet and called the office today. She answered the phone on her day off, went through the procedure for me to re-wrap it and said I can come in Monday to have her redo it for me! As an outside sales rep that wears heels everyday my feet have been killing me for years. I have always wanted to go the podiatrist but was worried all they would tell me is stop wearing heels so much. Not Dr Dix! She is amazing! Let's start with her living room or waiting room as it technically is called. Her front girl is also so helpful and welcoming. Dr Dix talked to me about not just what I was wearing for work but also at home. She suggested these slippers for home which have been a life saver! She then fitted my high arched, short toed awkward little feet with orthotics for fancy shoes! Yes heels. I am in heaven. Walking in my heels feels so much more supportive now. I was suffering with severe foot pain while caring for a newborn, and was desperate to get better. I saw two doctors and neither were able to help me. Then I found Dr. Dix on Yelp, and I'm so happy I did. Her staff was friendly and professional to start. Dr. Dix was able to pinpoint where my pain was right away and diagnosed me with a neuroma. She provided treatment that worked, and I was no longer limping around the house. She also spent a considerable amount of time with me compared to the other podiatrists. The other doctors sent me to a shoe store, but she went as far as personally fitting me with proper insoles for my high arches in order to prevent further foot problems. This review is for Dr. Elizabeth Kunda who works out of Dr Dix's office. They have a new address, so call first. Dr. Kunda is the most attentive foot doctor my mom has ever seen. Dr. Kunda treated my mom with care, explained why the problems persist, and suggested reasonable methods to improve her foot health. Given my mom's experience I have also started seeing Dr. Kunda and found her to be equally attentive and helpful in managing my foot problems. I visited Dr. Brooks for pain in my heel and couldn't have been more pleased. While I had an existing podiatrist, I wanted to get a second opinion, and I'm so glad I did. I'd done lots of web research and brought some printouts to help me explain what I'd been experiencing. I let her speak before producing my own research. She diagnosed me with achilles tendonitis, which is exactly what I thought I had from my own reading. In fact, she took it a step further and specified "insertional achilles tendonitis." She adeptly explained why I developed it (combination of not stretching enough before or after exercise and an altered gait from a previous unrelated surgery to the same foot) and then prescribed treatment--ice, stretching (within pain tolerance), and orthotics. I had a disposition against orthotics, as I'd had some custom ones made earlier in life that were uncomfortable and unhelpful, but she provided me with some off-the-shelf ones to try, and we agreed I would have some more substantial ones made if they proved helpful. I believe the technology on this front has come a long way since my last pair as well. A couple things I particularly appreciated about Dr. Dix: 1) She didn't rush our appointment. 2) She listened VERY well. She never interrupted and patiently allowed me to express all my concerns/observations and then calmly addressed each one. 3) Using words we lay people can understand, she teaches well as she explains things. 4) When addressing treatment, I anticipated ibuprofen at 1800 mg per day (that's 9 Advil), which is what I'd been told to do by my previous podiatrist as well as a physical therapist. The web is also quick to point to this medical therapy. I appreciated her conservative suggestion to the contrary--that I try the stretching, icing, rest, and the orthotics before I take medication. When I was treated for this same condition 18 months ago, my previous podiatrist took an x-ray, ruled out bone spurs, and deduced it was "something soft tissue." He then shot me with cortisone, which certainly broke the inflammation cycle and calmed the pain, but it did nothing to prevent it from coming back or educate me on why I ended up with it in the first place. Dr. Dix seems more interested in understanding and healing than simply treating. The previous podiatrist I've mentioned had also done a surgery on my foot for a different issue altogether. Because I've never been the same since, I've considered it a bit of a botched procedure. Dr. Dix reviewed my x-rays, posed several questions about my symptoms and the procedure, and ultimately agreed with the course of action my former podiatrist took. Sometimes, we just can't get things back to perfect. I appreciated that she didn't take the easy and all-too-frequent route of bashing the other doctor and trying to sell me on why she would have done it better. Very classy. Dr. Dix is a true professional with great bedside manner. She's comfortable to speak with and easy to respect. I will continue seeing Dr. Dix for all my podiatry needs, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to send friends and family to her. read more
