I never had such a bad experience with any Dr in my life.She is a very self center and careless Dr. Her examination was terrible, she didn't ask any questions about my history as a new patient, didn't even bother to look at the medical records I brought. She was only interested at her weight loss and her traveling at different places. After one hr waiting in the room,she didn't even wanted to do a complete examination and rushed as fast as she could. She really rushed through my well woman appointment. She barely even sat down and asked me very few questions about my history - even though I am a brand new patient. She seemed to whip through the appointment as fast as possible, complaining how little doctors are paid. I doubt I will return for future care. For your annual exam, Dr Valenton is a good doctor. However, after finding out I was pregnant, at my first prenatal appointment, Dr Valenton greeted me with "don't get too excited! Over 39 percent of pregnancies end in miscarriage". At my next appointment, she couldn't find a heartbeat on the sonogram. She suggested that we use another room with a better machine. While I quickly got dressed and ran to the other room (in 30 seconds), she took a patient. I waited 40 minutes thinking that I may have lost the baby, alone. Needless to say, that was my last visit there. The baby was fine and now I have one more healthy baby. I have to share this story in hopes that it saves one person from the pain I felt. Neglect and just total carelessness. If you need any compassion in a Doctor, she is NOT the Doctor for you. read more

As someone who always had HMO and was a Kaiser patient, and now is fortunate enough to have PPO, Dr. Kathleen is a treat! She made me feel human and not just a number as many other doctors do. She is incredibly knowledgable in her field, and at the same time, she is warm and makes you feel at ease during the process! I can see why she is booked so quickly, and why everyone refers her! I instantly knew Dr. Valenton would be my new go to OBGYN when delivering my second baby (19 years after my first born) after our initial appointment. She's patient, kind, informative and always returns my calls when I have questions, issues/worries, etc! She makes me feel comfortable and never makes me feel like I'm just another number. She truly cares about you and I feel like she's someone I'd be friends with outside of the office. She's also a mom herself so she's full of knowledge! I can't recommend her enough....I'm not sure why there are negative reviews posted on here about here, I really find that a bit shocking. I've had nothing but a pleasant experience and find her bedside manners genuinely personable and caring; so not abrupt like other doctors I've been to. The office is fantastic! I love the ladies (and gents) in the front reception/check in and out and Star is an awesome nurse. The office is clean, modern, up to date with new technology and they were so accommodating when I had to start bringing our little shih-Tzu dog to appointments after his major surgery. In fact, he gets all the attention! Debbie G is quick to work on your maternity leave/CA SDI paperwork and my ultrasound tech, Sana is AMAZING. Love being seen by her as she's so thorough and fun! I've also met with Dr. Brown and spoke to Dr. Nguyen after hours. Dr. Valenton was out of town when I actually delivered early, so Dr. Stancz-Szeder delivered our son and I instantly connected with her!! I know that's not easy after seeing Dr. V for 9 months... This reviews is based soley on my visit and not anything else as I have not had to deal with billing yet. I was referred specifically to this DR by several women for many years. I am so disappointed that i waited this long to switch to her. This is by far the best experience i have EVER had with a dr. She was pleasant, fast but efficient and thorough. She made me fell like i was her ONLY concern in that moment. There was a kind of familiarity to the visit in that it felt like i was not seeing her for the first time but that i had been a long term client. She did not invalidated my feelings or concerns and addressed them kindly even when they were crazy. She also pointed out things that other dr would brush off so i had chosen to not even bring them up for fear that i would be made to feel stupidn again. These same things that she addressed turned out to be real health issues that have gone on to long bc other dr would brush them off. I am so grateful to the care she put into this visit. I Ann starting to find answers to things i have suffered through for the last 4 years. Reason for going: - reg checkup Pros: - i did not wait long - kind - thorough - efficient - fast - approachable - knowledgeable - easy to find - easy parking - free parking - friendly staff - clean - bright and airy - they make every step of the process easy - i found my time to be respected vs wasted (I was out of there with in less than an hour and i was a1st tone patient) Cons: - if you are struggling with infertility or are trying to get pregnant, the wrong room can be overwhelming. there are a lot of couples that are going through all stages of this here and it was a little hard for me. Dr Valenton is without a doubt and brilliant and great Doctor. She knows her stuff and is great at explaining. My problem was she scared the living shit out of me over and over again, and my sister who was also per patient. The first time I went to her I had some concerns, and I left her office sobbing fearing that I wouldn't be able to get pregnant. The next appointment when we did an ultrasound we saw I am perfectly fine and won't need the surgery she thought I might. She then told me I might have cancer and when she called me to tell me the results were negative, she started out saying "I wanted to call because I didn't want you to get scared" I almost pooped my pants I got so scared. Common, there's a better way to communicate news to your patients. Look - I'm reasonable. I want to hear what might be a problem and learn about it, but I shouldn't be leaving her office terrified over something that may not even be the case. Another problem I had is the three times I've been to her office I've waited a long time and she's come in frantic, exhausted, and telling me how she spent the whole night delivering babies and then came straight to the office, then rushed through the appointment, and on top of that billing my insurance (separate from for a doctors visit) for asking her a quick question, and then I got a bill after paying my $60 copay to pay another 60$ because I asked a question. It's ridiculous. I truly believe that a great doctor has to be able to say no to new patients when they have no more bandwidth, and she simply doesn't do that. She's a brilliant woman and I'm sure she does a great job in the delivery room, etc., but I know when I'm pregnant I don't need that energy of from her always scaring me and causing me stress and that's why I changed doctors. I hope she makes those minor changes because I really loved her personality and smile. read more

I'm so surprised by the negative reviews for Dr. Valenton. She was so pleasant to deal with and took her time to listen to all the issues I was having and addressed all of them without pushing perception pills like other doctors have done in the past to just get me it of their office. The first time I met her, she made me feel at ease and made me feel like we've known each other for a while. It takes a special doctor to have great bedside manner. She is very easy to talk to which is always great when dealing with a gynecologist. She was also very prompt in getting back to me with my test results and the diagnosis. read more

Dr Valenton is the most amazing Gyno I have ever been to! I actually found her on yelp because I moved to the LA area a year ago and had never seen a lady doctor yet. I happened to choose her out of a random draw and I am so so happy I did!! Her warm friendly smile makes you instantly feel comfortable and she asks questions to make sure she is taking care of all your needs. She cares about her patients and I could tell she's a kind and genuine person overall. Professional with a wonderful bedside manner. Not only is she intelligent, she is extremely personable. My husband and I went to her when we were trying to get pregnant with our first. Within 3 months we were pregnant and overjoyed. Unfortunately, we switched insurance carriers and weren't able to have our baby delivered by her. Honestly, I wish I had just paid the difference to continue on as her patient. The other OBGYN was not nearly as wonderful and the delivery was a horrible experience. Her office staff is on top of their game, and offers a warm welcome. There is free parking around the corner for two hours, which in LA is a blessing! Grateful to be going back to Dr. Valenton! Valenton is an excellent, honest and knowledgeable physician. The front office needs work (and unfortunately it's reflected in her 4 star rating when reading other reviews) but being in the hands of someone you like and trust for OB care helped me stay the course with Dr Valenton. She will tell you exactly what you need to know (sometimes not sugar coated and direct) but I believe that's important when dealing with health matters and the health of me and my baby. Sometimes there was a delay in responding (non urgent matters) and the office gets a little crowded (there are multiple doctors at that practice), but Dr Valenton was a gem with getting me through my first pregnancy. I had servers hiccups due to my health but she was on top of everything. With an unexpected c-section, our baby was born and the scar is as close to invisible as it can get! During visits S he takes the time to prep you for everything good, bad, and ugly. She's caring and has tremendous insight, experience and patience. I'm glad I found her and while I've encountered many front offices that run circles around their staff, Dr Valenton's delivery of care is 5+ stars! !!! read more

I wasn't sure I was going to write a review, but I slept on it last night, and I still felt like I should this morning. Yesterday, first thing in the morning, I called Dr. Valenton's office after a referral from a friend and asked if she was taking new patients. Jenny (the receptionist) said she indeed was. Mind you I'm 12 weeks pregnant and looking for an obstetrician. My regular OB/GYN is lovely but unfortunately doesn't go past the first trimester, and I explained this ALL to Jenny up front. I've never done this before, so I asked if the doctor does consultations. Jenny said "She doesn't do meet and greets... Either she takes you on as a patient or she doesn't." So that already was a little off-putting. This is a big decision, and also, we're in quarantine, so maybe she could do a Zoom call for 5 minutes? I don't know... Feels like logic since this is possibly the person that is going to DELIVER MY BABY. Anyway, I said "Okay... well she comes highly recommended, so I guess let's go for it." Jenny said "Okay, great, well please have your previous doctor fax me over your medical records." At that point, I called my other very busy doctor to send the paperwork, and Jenny and I had to speak a few more times during the day to get the insurance right etc., and then she finally received my paperwork later in the day. Jenny called me at 4:30PM and said "I received your paperwork. How far along are you again?" I responded "I'm 12 weeks today." She then said "Oh okay, well I talked to Dr. Valenton, and she said she'd prefer to start with a clean slate and doesn't want to work with someone that's already 12 weeks along. So she's recommending you work with Dr. Chen in her practice instead." And I'm not kidding when I say it sounded like she was smiling while she was relaying this message. So a little shocked, I said "Ohh, well the whole point was to work with Dr. Valenton because she's who my friend ______ highly recommended, and I thought she was taking new patients." And I was met with silence on the other end of the phone. So ultimately, after they gave me the runaround, I have decided I won't work with this practice at all. If this is how they treat potential patients, I'll find another doctor that gives me the time of day. read more

Dr Valenton and her assistant Star are amazing! My wife and I highly recommend her. She is very caring and will put you at ease. She completely supported our birth plan and worked with us when circumstances changed it. She is very real about pregnancy and all of its challenges while not being overbearing. She takes time to answer all your concerns and questions and has a great bed side manner. Honestly, I am shocked by a few of the reviews below. Dr Valenton made a critical mistake which lost me a year and 1/2 of my health. She sees too many patients to give thoughtful comprehensive care. Her demeanor is gentle but it is very clear to me she is not only not skilled as a Dr but also that her lack of knowledge and critical thinking is dangerous to women and especially pregnant women. read more

by far the worst doctor, 2 years ago my wife and I lost our baby at 8 weeks because of her careless uninformed decision to inject my wife with Rhogan. The manufacturer recommends injection at 28 weeks, Doctor Valenton basically made a poor decision that cost our child's life. read more

Dr. Valenton came highly recommended and I waited months for an appt. Her office was clean, modern and quiet and my appt was basically on time. But I was very disappointed to find Dr. Valenton rushed and condescending. She didn't adequately answer my questions and then she just abruptly got up and left the appt after 15-minutes - I think she might have said, "Okay, nice to meet you." Then walked out. She's not really paying attention to you and she is a slave to her next appt. Luckily, I kept looking and I found a doctor who is very forthcoming with information, chatted with me for 45 minutes and is in charge of her own practice. Keep looking! read more

I have to agree with other reviewers. Dr. Valenton was very kind and took the time to discuss things with me during my first visit a few years ago, but ever since then it's been downhill. She seems to have chosen volume over quality of care. I cannot get a call back from her, even after calling the on call phone # and the office multiple times. I just got back from my pharmacy to try and find out why my birth control has not been filled and they informed me that they have contacted the Dr's office 3 separate times for a refill, and they have not answered. No one from the office has ever called me to inform me that I need to come in for a visit. Very disappointed this office. read more

Although Dr Valenton has a nice demeanor, I will never be going back. 1) when my name was YELLED a ( from the desk) I was told to "just walk down the hall to room 7". I started down the hall, and saw no numbers, I kept walking, and half way down had to ask an employee "is 7 this way?" Got to the room where a nurse was waiting, I said, "just find your own way today?" She didn't answer. When I was leaving, there was another stunned woman trying to find her own way to her room. 2). My visit was so fast my head spun!! I had lots of questions there were left unanswered, and no tests done for blood, or the hormones I was about to start she said "we'll just use last years results ". I wanted a cholesterol check, which I stated when I made the appointment. She said now I was to go to an internist for that test. Starting a regimen of hormones there are plenty of nerves and questions, she was too busy. She told me personal things about my exam, I had PLENTY a of questions there too! 3). Dr Valenton nor her receptionist were clear on the papers, I was handed, for pills, and mammogram etc, and as I asked the receptionist questions she was clearly put out. ( there are 3 of them seated). This place for being ON Rodeo Drive, seems very tacky, and very SAMs Club... It's the McDonalds of OBGYN. I went last year with a friend, she refused to go back because Dr Valenton refused to discuss her results on the phone but had an assistant call. They were getting lots...and lots of women in, but I can't see how they keep patients. read more

I was extremely disappointed with Dr. Valenton. She was great during the initial appointment, but almost rude and condescending on my second visit. She belittled my pain and basically told me that birth control pills would fix it. I had recommended her to a friend after my initial visit and she also had a similar experience to mine and never went back. Aside from her bad manners, I waited over an hour and she didn't even acknowledge the wait. I guess it must be normal to wait that long in the office. Great clinic! I made my appointment a couple of weeks ahead. I was told to come in 15 minutes earlier because as a new patient I needed to fill out forms. I did come earlier, finished paperwork on time and I was attended to almost immediately. Staff are nice and courteous, nurses are attentive and Dr. Valenton is the best. She was very thorough but not prying, listened to what I saying and answered my questions. Renewing a prescription was no-fuss too. I have been going to Dr. Valenton for 5 years and she is the best OB Gyn I've ever seen. Right off the bat, she is a sincere and genuinely warm person, but most importantly, she never misses a thing, she never rushes you and is very thorough. I rarely have to wait long for the appointment and I have to drive a distance to go to see her, which is completely worth it. I trust this doctor a lot. read more

I think it is interesting how most of the reviews are five stars and then there are 1 star reviews. I'm currently going to Dr. Valenton and am due March 21st. She has a great bedside manner, is a genuine person, and is down to earth. She is also brilliant. She has not overloaded me with information but guides through the process giving information when needed as my pregnancy has progressed. The office in general is busy. And, as I read some of the 1 start reviews, complaints seem to be associated with that. My advice would be to do what I've been doing because I have had none of those issues. I make appointments for the first morning appointment when I go. If you can do that, you won't have delays that can be due to other patients showing up late or going over. Don't pass up this amazing doctor because of things like office challenges. All Dr's offices have days that are challenging.
