My healing there was jumpstarted by having Katie as my case manager, and by the groups that she facilitated that brought up very important discussions that other facilitators did not. I got to talk with my peers about things that I thought i carried alone for my whole life. Katie encouraged me to share my story when i had been so hesitant before, and the response i got from others in the program was profound and very helpful. My time in Katie's office and in her facilitated sessions were a tremendous help to me and i will miss going back so badly. My therapist Leah was absolutely wonderful - she also encouraged me to share my story and was wonderfully supportive through my time at OCR. I also very much enjoyed the sessions that she facilitated. She helped me with some impossibly difficult events currently happening in my life and showed deep care and concern and willingness to help. Anthony was also very kind and caring, when he had no obligation to be. One thing left me wanting though. We were regularly asked for feedback from OCR as to what we'd like to see changed and i never saw OCR take any of our responses to heart. The Women's Group session hosted by Jenna was one of my favorite parts of the week (she is amazing). I regularly asked to have women's group more than once a week. So did many of the women in session with me. Never happened. Multiple patients and i also asked for time to break off into smaller discussion groups, as the "lecture" classes can get tedious. We benefited so much more from more intimidate discussion. I voiced this at least twice when asked directly what i'd like to see changed, and the others in the session agreed that they'd like to see those changes, and nothing ever came of it.

Thanks to excellent care and counseling from Sue, Kim and the staff, I was able to deal with the loss on my own terms and begin to live my life in a way that would honor his memory. I also took classes to learn more about being more effective in all aspects of my life. I became a better and happier person than I was even prior to my dad's death! I improved relationships with my friends, my partner, and my job. The staff really listened to ME as a person. I also want to note that the environment is LGBTQ-friendly and I felt welcomed at every turn.

Yes the TMS is helping my brain to shift gears but also Dr Khan and Melanie are two gems - they are sincere. They are kind. They are attentive. They are accommodating. Going into tms and having Melanie in the room with me gives me such a feeling of comfort and healing. I am beyond grateful because I know how hard such attributes are to find. From the very start, Flora provided excellent assessments of what my needs were and tailored her approach to my specific requirements. The intake process was great, as she paid close attention not only to my physical condition, but most of all mental, and spiritual well-being. During the sessions, she paid close attention to my form during exercises and also took the time to explain the importance and difference of each movement in yoga and its function. Then suggested appropriate modifications. She also provided a wonderful introduction to the philosophy of yoga, which was very insightful. She always followed up with detailed notes and suggestions to help me improve my practice even further. She has this calm aura about her--her voice and her guided meditation throughout the Restorative Yoga session was just what I needed on Monday afternoon. This was also my first time experiencing singing bowls, she gave me a brief explanation on its purpose, background, it made me feel at ease. If you are used to doing yoga as a workout, you have to try this. We are so used to "go go go! Push yourself harder! Do more!" kind of culture today. This goes beyond toning the body, but it awakens your body and awareness, and treating your inner peace.
