Peter gave me One of the worst haircuts I've ever gotten. Didn't listen to what I asked for and just buzzed everything no blending no fading no line ups cut up my neck to the point of bleeding. While all of the barbers do a great job, I have settled into a routine of going to Eli on Wednesday's or Saturdays. Eli does a wonderful job and really takes his time to deliver the perfect cut. Discrimination. I wish I could write a review on the quality of a haircut but I never received one as I was turned away because of my service dog. I am a blind and rely on my service dog to get around town. I decided to stop into the local barber shop for a quick trim but was immediately turned away by being told "No Dogs. No Dogs!" This is completely illegal and in complete disregard of ADA compliance. No one should support a business that operates this way these days. read more

This place is terrible. I was looking for a place to get my haircut because I haven't been able to go down to the city. Peter can't cut hair at all. He spent less than 10 mins on my hair and it looks like absolute trash. I think my dollars would've went further at super cuts, which is sad to say. Yesterday I went in for a haircut and was greeted at the door by the owner. I have been there twice before and he asked if it was my first time there. I was not bothered by it, even though last time I was there he told me that he would remember me and that he never forgets his customers. Like I said, not a big deal. I've had hair cuts from two of the other barbers there, which both came out pretty good, however this was not the case yesterday. At two separate times during my hair cut he decided it was more important to divert his attention away from my head to answer his cell phone. I was not satisfied with the outcome, he seemed to just want to get it done with. I asked for a #1 fade, the lines in the fade are clearly visible and uneven, he also left stray hairs on my neck. He began taking off the barber's smock before I could even get a good look at my hair cut. When I gave him an unsure look about how the hair cut ended up, he gave me a little attitude and asked if I wanted it tighter. I said "no". (I didn't want to interrupt any more of his phone calls). He was quick to rush me out the door so he could get to the next customer. I paid and left. Needless to say I will not return, even though its hard to find a good barber in my neighborhood. read more

Two stars because they actually do cut hair. The barber spent more time telling me how it's been so long since I've seen him (10 or 11 years) than he did actually paying attention to why I was there. The real reason why I was there, my actual barber was on vacation and I was in need of a trim. Said trim turned out to be something along the lines of me handing my two year old daughter an oster trimmer and saying "go to town". After my hair became shorter than my beard the barber decided that those follicles needed tormenting as well. A simple shape up became a sheep shearing contest. I left with a chunk of mustache longer than the rest, with the exception of a tuft on the back of my head... Thank god for hats and razors... Guess it was time to shave my beard and head anyway. read more

Hi - I have been using the Katonah Barber Shop for a few years & I have had great experiences - I figured it was time to leave a review. My favorite barber (by far) is Eli! I have fairly long hair (trying to grow a 70's style cut) and Eli takes his time - never ever makes me feel rushed, never an attitude and always warm conversations. I typically take up at least 40 minutes of hair cut time and it always comes out amazing. I am always surprises how patient he is and how well he cuts my hair - I wouldnt go anywhere else. I have been to many barbers over the years and whenever I say 'dont make it too short' it seems to be code for "give me a buzz cut". Eli actually listens and delivers a great cut each time. When I say - take off an inch - thats all that comes off. While I hate to let the secret out I would recommend trying the Katonah Barber Shop & asking for Eli - I am sure you wont be disappointed. Peter and the whole gang are great! Plus they give a lollipop to the boys when the haircut is over. read more
