First time coming here, and it was a very strange experience. My barber, Coby, was friendly and professional, and I showed him a photo of the haircut I wanted. Everything seemed fine until the owner (bald, gray beard) stepped in and started criticizing Coby's work. Without asking me a single question about what I wanted, he began shaving my hair himself. I never spoke to this man about my haircut, and he never bothered to ask. The result was a completely different haircut than what I requested. When I expressed my frustration afterward, Coby was very understanding but essentially said, "He's the boss." I honestly don't understand how a barbershop can operate like this. I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this place. Coby seems like a talented barber -- he deserves to work somewhere that respects both him and the client. read more

I understand what they are trying to accomplish, but at over $85 for a beard trim and haircut things didn't line up for me. Spirits are offered while you wait, put a hot towel on your face, and inquire about your allergies the end result was an average haircut at inflated costs. Everyone was very pleasant, extremely accommodating, and I appreciated the banter between barbers. The Dapper Den certainly fills a niche that I am just not apart of. read more

Today is my first time getting a haircut here. This place is incredible. I usually get my haircut in my home town but a friend recommended this place so I came in to try it out. The attention to detail is truly phenomenal. As soon as I walked in all the barbers welcomed me, shook my hand and were very comfortable as if I knew them for years. Please note this is a men's barbershop! They don't cut women's hair, and don't really cater to small children. That being said, I take my sons in the afternoon and have never had an issue. I have been growing my first real beard for over 6 months and was looking for a barber to get my first trim. I found this place on a youtube video for beard brand. I booked an appointment online (with Charlie) and added a comment about my beard. I had some reservations because Charlie does not have a beard. All my doubts have been erased. I received a reply and a reminder for the appointment. When I arrived, Charlie discussed my online comment and listened to my concerns. My haircut and trim came out great! I think $45 for a haircut and beard trim is a bargain. I will return and if my next cut and trim is just as nice, I will upgrade them to 5 stars. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. New to the area and made an appointment at what appeared to be your standard hipster/trendy/new age type barbershop that are becoming popular in major cities across the country. I arrived a little early for my appointment and took a seat to wait. What I observed for the next 15 minutes was so disgusting and unprofessional that I got up and left before my haircut. The owner, employees, and customers all openly and crudely discuss how many d**ks certain women in town have had up their *sses, openly mock Jewish people (the owner is Jewish so I guess this is somehow ok?), and throw the F-Bomb around every other word like it somehow makes them more masculine or tough. After leaving the store, I was chased after by the owner. Not to hear why I was upset or to understand anything from the customer's point of view...but to make sure I knew that this was a 'Gentleman's Club' and a 'Man Cave' where 'men' go to be 'men'. And that if I wanted a different experience I should have made an appointment somewhere else. As calmly as possible I explained that obviously our ideas of being a man were very different and I walked away. Now, I've been to barbershops all over the country and overseas...NEVER have I experienced anything like this. DO NOT bring your kids here, and DO NOT come here unless your idea of being a man in 2019 is still rooted in the most obscene ideas of misogyny and prejudice. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The atmosphere is chill and friendly. We recently relocated from NYC and were happy to find a place local that can give my son the haircut he always got (low skin fade). James has been my son's personal favorite, taking the time to be able to make him feel comfortable, while also meeting my high expectations. Turns out the original barber had taken another client at the same time of my original appointment right next to the chair I was in. This is an exceptional barber experience from top to bottom. It's easy to book, they give great haircuts and they are also extremely friendly and engaging even with my 5 year old son. We actually look forward to going there. Even sitting and waiting is entertaining because of the barber shop banter (kid appropriate by the way) and carefully chosen memorabilia on the walls. The OWNER gave me one of the worst haircuts I have ever gotten in my entire life. The final result was not even close to what I asked for or was expecting. If you do go here make sure you are extremely detailed with your request, or else you will be very disappointed. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Clearly no emergency had happened, they never tried to reach out to me and because they are a 30 minute drive this place wasted hours of our time and any opportunity to get a haircut today which is what was needed. Twice now, I have tried to schedule an appointment with Jared only to have it cancelled last minute. I went through and did the scheduling on Booksy, and both times, mere hours before my scheduled appointment, I received texts saying that my appointment was cancelled. No explanation was given, and no alternative times were suggested, or even available. Of course, I can't call Jared to rectify this because he doesn't take calls anymore, as Booksy is now being used for everything. I keep getting an automatic voice message when I call the phone, which is never returned. This is quite frustrating. Sorry, but I need to go somewhere where I can make an appointment and the other party can actually stick to it. At the very least, try to give me some more notice or suggest other times. read more

I booked an Executive cut and shave with Jared, walking into the shop with my hair having not even been trimmed for 8 weeks and my beard a mess.
