I knew from the moment I saw her work that Christina was going to be the right choice, and she did not disappoint. Tons of positives: - she was easy to communicate and plan with, even when I wanted to switch one of my locations the week of the shoot - she made us both feel comfortable in front of the camera, which is no small task - she was flexible with my ideas, but also brought her own to the table - photos were back even sooner than I'd expected, and were of the quality I'd seen on her website But I think what I liked best was Christina herself. She was extremely pleasant to work with, and treated my casual event with the same professionalism and respect that she would a wedding. She had very positive presence and brought a really good energy and enthusiasm to the shoot. She was a lot of fun and brought out the best in my partner and me. I'm so glad I selected Christina and Nightingale Photography, and she would absolutely be my first choice if I were to need a photographer again. Thank you!

Her light and bright style made our wedding photos so stunning, I will be using her for every photoshoot I plan throughout my life! She even sent me sneak peek photos LITERALLY THE NIGHT OF MY WEDDING. And we got the rest of our photos about 3 weeks later. Her turnaround is amazing! Her package also included an engagement session, and the photos came out gorgeous as well (even with the crazy SF wind!). If you're in the market for an amazing person that produces equally amazing photos, look no further! Julia will exceed every expectation!

Julia is always on top of everything and very professional. She answered any emails or questions I had in a timely manner, and she was very helpful with planning our timeline. We did our engagement photos with her in San Francisco about a year before our wedding. She immediately made us feel comfortable and was good at explaining poses for good photos. She also helped me with planning my shot list and narrowing down important photos. On the day of the wedding she was amazing, and her husband/second photographer Greg was lovely. It ended up being a hot day and Greg was always there with more water for us or anything we needed. We also booked our videographer through Julia, Shana Garrett, and she was also so lovely! Everyone was professional and managed to get beautiful shots of our day. Julia was also great at wrangling our families for photos, getting all the family photos I wanted, as well as detail shots. My absolute favorite photos are our sunset photos, they are so beautiful and we can't stop looking at them! After the wedding, we got first looks that night and our full album within 3 weeks. We received our videos within a few months and she also sent a USB with everything! Overall, we cannot recommend Julia and her team enough, and we plan to work with her again in the future!

He creates natural funny and warm moments that make for great photographs. My husband and I are not very photogenic and are pretty anxious in front of the camera. When we worked with Adam for our city hall wedding he helped us to warm up in front of the camera by building a relationship with everyone involved including our family. He makes everyone feel good about themselves and helped direct everyone into the best pose! When we did our second session we had our 11 month old daughter who's pretty anxious around strangers but Adam turns out to be amazing kids as she warmed up to him slowly. We are generally shy and awkward in front of the camera but Adam put us both at ease during our engagement shoot. He was very reassuring too when my wife thought it wasn't going as well as she had hoped. During our wedding, Adam beautifully captured all our special moments with the people we love. We like his style and the different poses he had us try. We have enjoyed viewing our photo gallery so far. The only thing that could've been better was his promptness in communication (resulting in this 4-star review). Sometimes we didn't hear back from him in a timely fashion about basic but important information, and could go several days without a reply. A response often times would only come after a repeat message to him. Although, we understand things happen, being more timely with phone calls/appts certainly would've earned a 5-star experience! It may help future potential clients to know up front what sort of communication or timeframe to expect. Aside from this, we enjoyed working with Adam and are grateful for his skill and expertise to capture our special day. Thank you, Adam!

Denise is phenomenal and she surrounds herself with a team that is professional, considerate and competent. There were a fair amount of questions I had to answer about which photos we wanted and this made me feel at ease knowing that the team would make sure I got all the photos I wanted for my special day. I ordered a boudoir photo package in addition to the wedding photos and video. The boudoir photo shoot was an incredible experience and Denise made me feel incredibly at ease and sexy as hell. I got the proofs and was able to view them in the studio - this was a special day and it was helpful having another set of eyes and also someone there to help me not be so critical of myself!! The final result was a book of photos of me feeling sexy, confident and amazing. My husband sat, mouth open, carefully going through each page and I felt like the most beautiful girl in the world. On our wedding day there were absolutely ZERO ISSUES. When Denise arrived, I breathed a sigh of relief, she took care of everything. I was confident that the pictures were going to be exactly what I wanted and then some. Overall, my experience with Modern Love was beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of. They know how to take incredible photos and have done a lot of training to ensure that they are getting photos that you not only see as visually beautiful but photos that make you feel something, photos that make you experience and witness the beauty and magic of a moment. Thank you Denise and all of Modern Love for an incredible day!!

This is honestly a hard review for me to write. I did love Denise and her personality, and I loved…read moremy engagement shoot that I did with Katie. But my wedding shoot was extremely, so extremely disappointing. We opted not to have a videographer and told people not to take pictures during the ceremony, so I'm just left with sad pictures( or the lack of pictures I guess). For starters, the photographers were 45 minutes late. I heard there was a lot of traffic, and I wonder if this is the first thing that threw everything off. We initially signed a contract for Denise and Katie as the second shooter, but we found out that Katie was promoted as a main photographer, so there was a new guy. The second photographer was nice but pretty useless. You could tell which photos he shot, and they were pretty poor. He did the groomsmen getting ready, but all of the photos are just close ups. The guys did a pillow fight (tradition with his friends), and every single one of them is just a close up of a man holding a pillow. Also, one of the reasons we chose the venue was due to its interior, and I spent a lot of time looking at wedding photos done inside the building. I remember asking for photos in the hallway and taking a bunch, but I didn't see any. I was told they couldn't shoot properly in there because of the lighting. I'm not sure why all the other photographers from that venue were able to get pictures, but I couldn't. We ended up with a handful of portraits, many of them disappointing because either my hair is blowing all over my face or my husband couldn't keep a straight face. We spent a good portion of our decorating budget on flowers, but I don't have a single photo of my centerpieces. My florist asked to add them to my portfolio, but I didn't have any to offer her. The biggest, most disappointing issue is that there are zero pictures of the whole wedding party, and I don't have a single photo of the whole family. How did that escape people? I wasn't keeping track of each photo, and I really expected the photographers to do that. I don't have one with just my parents or with my sister, who was my maid of honor. These pictures were things I just took for granted. It definitely wasn't because we ran out of time because between the ceremony and reception, I was just sitting around in my room for about 45 minutes. Aside from Denise's personality,  I was extremely disappointed with the whole day.  I even tried to get a refund for the "trash the dress" session I had also purchased and was met with a refusal. They did refund us for the cost of a second photographer though. To this day, I get really sad seeing other great wedding photos and for years thinking about it could bring me to the verge of tears. That being said, obviously I survived and I did absolutely love my wedding. I still have beautiful memories of my wedding, and I'm happily married with a gorgeous kiddo. I just wish I had some photos too.

His communication was clear and responsive, and he was very patient with me no matter how many emails it took! On the day of, I was nervous if things were going to fall into place, but Annie, our photographer, shared her location with me and arrived early in just the spot I wanted. She was also wonderful to work with--her photography and editing skills are great and even though we never really posed for photos before, she made it easy for us. She even had the presence of mind to turn us away from family members who were coming from behind to surprise us. We received a few photos the night of the proposal to share with friends and then the rest of the photos after a quick turnaround. They were the first vendor we booked after securing our venue, so we got to know them over the course of the year leading up to our wedding in August 2025. After coming across their photos when researching different potential photographers that had experience at our venue, we were very interested in meeting them. We had an initial video call with them and knew immediately that we wanted to book them for such a critical part of our wedding journey. There aren't enough words to describe how skilled and professional they are--they are amazing photographers (individually and as a duo) and clearly love what they do. Our proposal photoshoot was the only prior experience we had in terms of taking professional photos as a couple. We met them in person for the first time at our engagement photoshoot--they immediately made us feel comfortable and were seriously thoughtful about the entire process, whether it was the location choices, minute-by-minute weather changes/forecast, outfit changes, etc. It really feels like they plan for everything and care about the little details. When we asked them about another vendor they would potentially work with on the day of our wedding, they even referenced notes they made when they had worked with them for a prior wedding. Throughout the whole process, they were prompt communicators (frequently responding to an email within minutes!) and guided us with experience and patience that we really appreciated. Whenever we had something to discuss with them (including choices we needed to make as a couple), they never hesitated to give us suggestions and feedback. Even if they offered an alternative suggestion to an idea of ours, it always felt like they genuinely cared and they wanted what we wanted, and it never felt like criticism. We received our wedding photos just about 2 months after our wedding, and we love every single one of them (all 667)! They are truly the best photographers to work with and just lovely people to be around. We definitely plan to keep in touch with them for future photoshoots! :) TL;DR: You should have booked A Tale Ahead Photography yesterday!!
