I wasn't super thrilled at the idea but it sounded like I'd have fun because there was alcohol involved. Now I can say I have 6 different pieces hanging around my house that I am proud to say that I painted, thanks to Judy! Brush and Cork is not your typical "wine and paint night" where you get drunk and come home with a painting you may or may not like. Judy has the image sketched out on the canvas in pencil, so you are following along with her like a paint by number. She teaches you every step of the way, and makes sure that everyone goes home with something they love. I love that the canvases are pre drawn, because even if you don't feel like you have artistic talent you can bring home something beautiful. Other paint nights that I have gone to with a blank canvas just aren't as fun... I feel more stressed and like I'm wasting my money. Besides the fact that she makes it easy to kickback and have a fun night with your friends, Judy is a wonderful teacher. She takes her time, and goes at the pace of the class instead of just blasting through everything to make sure the class is over by 9. She wants everyone to succeed, and you can tell she isn't just following a "trend" and making it all about the money. She is a fantastic artist, and a great teacher. I've now moved over an hour away, and I still make the drive up to do paintings with my mother in law and sister in law, Judy is worth the drive. :)

Arriving 20 minutes prior to our scheduled session, we placed food and drink orders at the bar (my wife and I opted to order two Old Fashioneds). We then proceeded to enter the classroom where we met our instructor (unfortunately I did not obtain her name). After giving us a few tips, we started the project. Our instructor did a great job of pausing after each step to ensure that everyone was on the same page and even walked around the class to offer suggestions (I felt like I was in university again). I'm so thankful that I only had one drink, the bartender working that evening made some potent cocktails (not a complaint). If you can imagine, remaining focused on painting when buzzed is a challenge in itself. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Pinot's Palette and the romantic paint selection was appropriate for a couple's night out. Also, the music selection was on point! We will definitely make a return visit for their candle making class!
