My daughter recently expressed in interest in hanging it in her home. It really needed cleaning and repair. Though I thought that I would have to take it to San Francisco for restoration, a Yelp search for the Sacramento Valley area returned a hit for Fine Art Artist. I contacted Ghanim and he offered to come see my painting and estimate repairs and cleaning costs. Ghanim is a very pleasant person who gave me the impression that he really knew how to do the job for me. He not only holds a Master of Fine Arts and is an artist of note in his country, but took special training in art restotation in Italy. But, most important to me, he really was excited and interested in restoring my painting. The work was completed in a reasonable amount of time for a reasonable price. Ghanim drove out to my daughter's home to complete the framing and frame cleaning. I am really delighted in the quality of his craftsmanship. The tears are seamlessly repaired, the flocked paper collage pieces have been masterfully restored and the colors are so much more vibrant and appealing. We weren't sure how popular a caricature artist would be at our wedding since most of the guests were older. Jon was a TOTAL HIT! Literally every single guest had their caricature drawn, and at the end of the night everyone was RAVING about how amazing and fun he was! He made the guests feel very comfortable and actually asked guests if they wanted a specific theme or style to their drawings which was really nice. All the caricatures were also fairly flattering and true to form. Nothing was overly mean or exaggerated like some artists draw which is perfect for an event like a wedding. During the event, Jon connected up a webcam and streamed his work to a TV (which is all part of his typical set-up) so that people waiting or nearby can watch as he draws. This was a really nice touch as it provided some entertainment for everyone and also is a great way to get people interested in having their caricatures drawn! Jon himself is an absolute pleasure. He is so friendly and sociable. He got along well with all of the guests and he was so fun to work with in person. All in all, everyone loved Jon. He was practically the only thing our guests talked about it because they were so excited by it. Logistically, Jon is easy to work with, and I was able to set up everything through email. He offers several different packages to meet different needs and price points which is very nice. He also allows you to pick a border or logo to have printed onto the paper if you want. On the day of, he brings absolutely everything he needs. All you need to do is supply him an area and some power. He even has his own tent if it's an outside event and raining. He offers several suggestions / means to deal with line control as well. Since we had a smaller group, we opted to have people just line up or jump in when there was an opening. He can also do a ticket system or a signup sheet with times if that may work better for you. Jon was also really flexible. We weren't sure what time to have him come as it depended on the weather, and he was perfectly ok with a last minute decision. I would wholeheartedly recommend Jon to anyone looking for some entertainment for their event! He is an AMAZING caricature artist and is really wonderful to work with.
