My case was handled by this firm for more than two and a half years following serious injuries that resulted in three shoulder surgeries, a lower back surgery, a major infection, ongoing chronic pain, and substantial medical expenses. Throughout that time, I trusted that my legal team was fully prepared and actively advocating on my behalf. What ultimately shocked me was what occurred during mediation. In the very first session, the defense attorney raised a significant issue that my attorney appeared unprepared to address. At that moment, it felt as though the case completely unraveled. After more than two years of treatment, recovery, and waiting, I was left wondering how such a critical matter had not been anticipated or adequately addressed beforehand. Following mediation, I received calls asking me what I wanted to do next. As a client with no legal background, I found that question difficult to understand. I had hired legal counsel precisely because I needed professional guidance and expertise. Instead, I often felt uninformed about the process and uncertain about the status and direction of my case. Early on, I had serious concerns about the level of attention my case was receiving and even considered changing representation. At that time, I received a call from firm leadership asking me to stay and assuring me that everything would work out favorably. Based on those assurances, I continued with the firm. Looking back, communication was one of the most frustrating aspects of my experience. It often felt as though routine questions and requests for updates were viewed as inconveniences rather than reasonable concerns from a client facing life-changing injuries and mounting medical bills. In the end, after years of litigation, surgeries, pain, and recovery, the firm withdrew from representation following mediation. I was left with no financial recovery, significant medical debt, ongoing physical limitations, and a profound sense of disappointment in the legal process. I understand that not every case can be won, and I am not criticizing the outcome alone. What disappointed me most was the lack of preparation, communication, and guidance throughout the process. As someone who placed my trust in this firm during one of the most difficult periods of my life, I expected a much higher level of professionalism and advocacy. I sincerely hope others have a better experience than I did.

I've been dealing with a time…read moreconsuming, emotionally draining tobacco case since the death of my beloved mother in 2019. The type of situation my Ma would have helped me figure out if she were still here. Out of pure frustration, I posted a review here yesterday afternoon. Imagine my surprise when less than 2 hours later, Manny Serra, a managing partner at the firm, called me at home. Listen, I work with attorneys every day. Let's just say...as far as I'm concerned, this is not exactly a common occurrence. Not only was Manny empathetic and compassionate (yes, I promise you...this is indeed a law firm), but he essentially swooped in and put everything back on track. Charles Scott, who has the distinction of being the very first attorney I ever trusted, is also a partner at this firm. I don't know what type of sorcery is going on over at Kelley Uustal, but I will tell you this...that team? Incredible. Manny and Charles "activated" like the Wonder Twins! Now, I'm here...the next morning, rewriting reviews! I'm also a LOT closer to a resolution than I have been since this whole nightmare started. Again...I work with entirely too many attorneys. Manny and Charles are not those guys. Kelley Uustal has apparently cracked the code for recruiting folks who treat clients with the care and respect they deserve as human beings. Thanks for re-restoring my faith in attorneys. 10 out of 10, folks!

But with so many lawyers to choose from, finding the right law firm can be extremely daunting, especially when you are going through a difficult, life-changing event such as my family was. We were very fortunate to have crossed paths with an excellent nurse who was performing a procedure on my mother and when I explained to him what happened, he referred me to the law offices of Attorney Robert Kelley (Kelley/Uustal), whom he highly recommended. Having never heard of Robert Kelley, I did a quick google search and was very impressed. I contacted the law offices of Kelley/Uustal and prayed to God that I was making the right choice. I can now honestly say that not only was it the right choice... It was a home run/grand slam of a choice! I remember I was immediately contacted by email by Mr. Kelley and very soon after that I was contacted by phone by Attorney Dr. Harlan Wald and paralegal Emelyn Orellana. Dr. Wald is not only an attorney with the Kelley/Uustal law firm but also an actual doctor with many years of experience in the medical field in South Florida, making him a perfect choice for my mother's situation. I cannot say enough good things about both Dr. Wald and Ms. Orellana. Throughout the entire legal process, they were in constant communication with my family, guiding us through every step and explaining to us what to expect. Their kindness and professionalism went above and beyond. My mother was elderly and her health was in a very delicate state at this time. I really appreciate the kindness that Dr. Wald., Ms. Orellana, and Mr. Kelley showed my mom during the times when she was visited at a rehab facility, at home, or when we brought her into their law offices. It was obvious that the staff at Kelley/Uustal genuinely cares about their clients and are truly fighting for justice. Thanks to Dr. Wald and Ms. Orellana's hard work, we were able to get a very fair settlement that exceeded our expectations. In addition, Dr. Wald was able to negotiate the amount of money we would have had to pay Medicare for my mother's three month hospitalization from a very high amount to a negligible amount. Ms. Orellana was always there to keep us updated with how the case was progressing and to answer any of our questions or concerns. Sadly, my mom passed away and I was very touched that Dr. Wald and Ms. Orellana attended her funeral, showing that they are not only incredible professionals but also incredible people who genuinely care about their clients. It was a very difficult year for my mom and for my entire family, but as with all of life's difficulties, there are also many blessings that we may not realize until later. I thank God that we were led to the Kelley/Uustal law firm and for Dr. Wald and Ms. Orellana's hard work. Throughout the entire process, I felt at ease knowing that my mother's case was in great hands. I feel very blessed to have been helped by such great people during such a difficult time and I truly give the law firm of Kelley/Uustal the HIGHEST of recommendations.
