We bought a $3500 couch and…read morewe've had it for less than 6 months and for 2 1/2 of those months the electronic mechanism on at least one part of the couch has been broken. The couch was delivered with a broken selectronic headrest on the chaise. It took the company a week to replace it. Within a month the armless recliner mechanism broke. We bought the warranty Unfortunately they are only able to come out Monday through Friday 8:00 to 4:00. Which is when my husband and I work so they could not fix it. We tried to return it but they told us it was outside the 30 days and wouldn't let us return it . We also asked for a refund for our warranty since we can never use it because we work during normal business hours and we were told we had to contact a different company for that .They agreed to exchange it but brought the wrong piece. So one month later ( having a recliner stuck out open in the middle of our living room) we finally got a working armless recliner. Then 3 months later the armless recliner broke again and we went through the exact same problem and it wasn't replaced for a month because first they tried to send out a service person when we weren't home, then sent out the wrong thing before delivering the right piece. I have spent so much time on the phone and chat with this company and I can honestly say it is one of the worst companies and customer services I have ever experienced in my life. The only good part of the company is the delivery guys who I tried to give credit to but come to find out they are third party and don't even work for Bob's. I will never buy anything from this company and will try to stop anybody I know from buying anything from this company.

They always seem to fail. Had issues with SEVERAL pieces of furniture a few years ago. That is a…read morewhole other story. Now on to today. I was all prepared to purchase a recliner. I knew exactly what I wanted. There was a young lady standing by the recliners. I walked over sat in about 3 of them to try them out, she didn't even acknowledge I was there. She was about 10-15 feet away. I finally walked over and showed her the recliner I wanted, said I would like to have it in black (leather). She said it would take about 6-8 weeks to get there and required a 25% non refundable payment. I said ok since I am not in a hurry to get it. Then she told me there would be a $100 up charge to get it in black. This chair was over $1000! And they want another $100 because they don't carry that particular one. That's when I said I don't need it that bad. I left the store, disappointed because I found the chair I wanted but damn, $100 upcharge to get it in black. I drove straight to Slumberland found the chair I wanted for $200 less, NO UPCHARGE to get it in black leather. Still 6-8 weeks to get. After the fiasco we had a few years with a dining set, bedroom set and living room set all fell apart within 6 months of buying it. I'm not sure I will ever go back.

They created a full plan, we made one or two very minor adjustments, and now we are living in our dream house with furnishings and rugs that perfectly complement the modern vibe. And the price was right! I recommend By Design to everyone I know who might be thinking about furnishings and area rugs. The products are great quality, and the designers are top notch and super nice. One piece or a houseful - they will take care of you.

I was under the impression that anything sold would be reflected as a store credit to be used at our discretion. I stopped in a couple of weeks ago to buy some dishes and asked to use my credit. I was informed that there was no credit and that a check had been issued, that is now expired. I had a check...when?? That was not at all clear and I was not notified. I sent a message and received a call from the store about the issue, and nothing will be done. Not even a hint at a possible solution besides too bad, but the check is expired, nothing more. I asked if people are notified about consignment checks and they are NOT. The checks are put in a drawer and removed upon expiration if they weren't picked up. Even if I misunderstood, shouldn't customers be notified of money they are owed for personal items sold? I'm surprised that no message is ever sent. So, I gave my items to the store for free. My patronage must be very low priority. Questionable business practice and extremely frustrating.
