Kultar Batth took 3 weeks to review my case, validate it, and accept the job. $6,000 later and more than 3x the time I was given by Kultar to complete the work, the forms were submitted to IRS which denied all the claims. Upon insisting for Kultar to follow through, he sent a letter that produced no result to date (9 months after we started). Mr. Batth does not return my communications, and I am starting a series of reviews to denounce the lack of knowledge (yet acceptance of service for a fee) that led me to spend a lot of money on a non-valid claim according to IRS that acTax is not helping defend. By all means, I suggest all readers avoid this company for matters more complicated than simple cases. acTax as proven very difficult to get timely work from as other customers were always prioritized and the analysis of the company's owner was wrong. He seems very professional and seems very qualified, but I slowly began realizing that none of it was true. To sum it all up, in just two years this company has made multiple errors, has been very bad at communication, and has proven to not care about customer satisfaction. First, they mistakenly charged me twice having not realized I already sent them payment. This is not a huge deal, but come on your accountants. Then, when I asked if our Home Owner's Association (HOA) needed to file taxes, they said we did not have to. I later found out that we did have to file taxes and asked Troy to prepare the returns. I never received an explanation of why we did or did not have to file returns. Then the last straw: They made a pretty big error on my personal tax returns. When I told Troy about the IRS letter I received because of this error he offered no help in fixing it. He did not even look at my returns to verify if the error was his or the IRS's. He simply said I should look at my 1098's and figure it out myself. Although I should have pushed the issue with Troy and had him fix his error pro-bono, I opted to pay another accountant to fix it rather than to work with Troy again.
