Kaydee is AMAZING! Kaydee delivered all 3 of my babies at home. In Sep 2011 she delivered my daughter. Although she wasn't my primary midwife at that time I felt very comfortable with her and she did everything perfectly. Her presence is calming and direct, exactly what I wanted during labor. My labor was 5.5 hours, I used hypnobirthing techniques and she was great with it. In June 2013 I had my first son. I knew my primary midwife would be out of town so I saw Kaydee for most of my appointments. She had lots of suggestions and encouragement in the way of nutrition. My labor was 1.5 hours START to finish. Very intense. Kaydee was the first one there. She got right to work checking on the baby and me and setting up the space. My son had complications most likely due to his speedy delivery. He required resuscitation. Kaydee was quick to act and and started oxygen immediately. She ABSOLUTELY saved my son's life that day. I know God was with us all, His hand where on her for sure, directing her every move. My son had NO damage or negative effects from his birth, thanks to Kaydee doing everything perfectly. She also visited us MANY times in the days after his birth to check on us, emotionally and spiritually as we ALL processed what we had been through. In July 2015 when I was having my first son, some people thought I was crazy for having another home birth but to me it was the most obvious choice, because if we had been on the road or home alone when that happened our son would not have made it and we had complete confidence in Kaydee's ability to deal with any emergency. My 3rd birth was very different. I had my longest labor at around 9 hours. Things progressed very quickly at the end and Kaydee was, once again, the first one to arrive. I was laying on my side in my bed waiting for the tub to fill while listening to my hypnobirthing soundtrack. As soon as Kaydee walked in she just put her hand on my hip and a WAVE of relief and calm came over me. I knew everything would be great and I was in good hands. And it was. My son was born just 30 minutes later. It was so special to have the same woman deliver all 3 of my babies. Kaydee is a wonderful midwife, beautiful person, and strong woman of God. I loved working with Kaydee and her team! When my husband and I began searching for a midwife for our home birth, I didn't know exactly what I wanted or needed in a midwife, being pregnant for the first time. But from my initial meeting with Kaydee I just knew that she was the midwife I wanted to work with. She has such a loving and calming energy that made me feel very comfortable with her. Where to begin....Kaydee was my midwife for both of my home births (2012 & 2015). Because of Kaydee these labors were as painless and comfortable as they could be. She is so professional but also personal. I immediately trusted and connected with her. Kaydee is this perfect mix of confidence, wisdom, and gentleness. Everything from her voice to her touch makes you feel relaxed and safe. She knows the right times to give you direction and when to let you take charge of your body. We love Kaydee!!! We had the pleasure of working with Kaydee for our fourth child's pregnancy and our 2nd homebirth. She sincerely took the time to hear my desires and expectations. Kaydee is an excellent midwife, with a true passion for her work that is reflected in the care she gives her patients. She was in training as an assistant midwife for our first child, but she helped us through the entire 30+ hour labor. When my labor stopped progressing and I had to be transferred to the hospital, she even came along to provide support and make sure everything went smoothly. For our second child, we didn't hesitate to choose Kaydee as our primary midwife. She did a great job from prenatal care, helping with the delivery and in-home follow up visits to make sure the baby was healthy. Pregnancy and home birth can be stressful and scary, but Kaydee's calm, reassuring manner put us at ease. She was always ready to explain the pros and cons of any decision we had to make without pushing us one way or another. Kaydee Welchons is amazing. She was my midwife in 2015 when she was working with Birth Matters. Due to my persistent stress about returning to a hospital to birth, I sought out midwifery options late in my pregnancy. Kaydee very generously took me on and worked out my payment options when I was 37 weeks pregnant. I'm so grateful she accepted us so late for a homebirth, as my baby came in less than three hours, and she would have been a car baby had we needed to go to the hospital.
