Unfortunately Dr Otter is an ambulance chaser and will pull a bait and switch on you when you visit her office. I received a free neuromuscular massage letter from her, based on "my recent car accident" which she clearly pulled from the DOT report, which is public information. The DOT report also lists what insurance you have and she has her favorites on that too. I already had a chiropractor that I know and trust who does a good job, but figured if she did a good job on the neuromuscular massage, I could go back to her for that and give her the business that way. So I very naively went into the free appt. The office staff focused HEAVILY on the car accident, though I told them that I hadn't gotten hurt during it. The Neurmuscular massage consisted of her pushing into an accupressure point on my foot for about 2 or 3 minutes and stroking ( more like a caress ) the calf of my leg while pushing on that point. I have been massaged for years and have had lots of body work done, this is NOT a neuromuscular massage. I then received a very long sales pitch about her chiropractic work, (though I told her from the start that I had a chiropractor that I liked already) this lasted about 1 1/2 hours . She then had her receptionist call my insurance company to inform them that I would be having my "car accident" treatment with them, even though I told her that had not been hurt during the car accident. They made an appt for me, which I cancelled later that night. I called the office at 9pm and she actually picked up the phone. I found that whole thing to be strange and a bit creepy. Then when I politely told her I was going to go to my own chiropractor for treatment, she made a remark that if I wanted help with my pain, I should come to her. I would avoid this office... heavy sales pitch and a bait and switch for a chiropractor that apparently cannot make it on her own, without chasing ambulances and billing your insurance for treatment you may not even need. read more

Dr. Otter has helped my daughter with her neck and back pain and headaches. She has recommended exercises that helped between visits. She has later hours than most chiropractors, which helps with busy school and athlete schedules. read more

Dr. Otter has been in practice for many years (over 40), and she is the BEST chiropractor, ever, and I've had many. She has a way of finding and fixing the trouble with minimal pain, and I know of no one who is a better communicator than she is. You get clear questions, clear answers, and clear information about your problem and what it could cost to fix it. Every time we are in the Twin Cities, we make an appointment and get a treatment. I have had multiple injuries because of an active lifestyle, and so has my husband, so we count on Kaye to get us going again when things stiffen up! She proceeds cautiously and collects lots of previous information so she is not missing anything. I would guess the guy who wrote a review below did not listen to what information she needed up front, so we wanted to correct the review of this most competent doctor you could ever see! read more

I met Dr. Otter at a health expo and came to her clinic on a free offer. My experience in the clinic exceeded my expectations. We talked about the low back pain I had almost every day sitting for long hours at my computer job. What impressed me was that her recommendations were not a hard sell. It was up to me to accept the treatment she proposed to help me with my low back pain. It was very clear to me that Dr. Otter really wants to help people; she makes recommendations only if needed with lots of information and no pressure. She is quite comfortable with a person's decision to not follow her recommendations. I did decide to have Dr. Otter treat me based on her perspective of creating and maintaining long term health. I have had several car accidents and I run 5 to 7 marathons a year, so I appreciate the results. My low back ache is gone! The automobile accidents I had after starting care were handled well with acute and rehabilitative care. It is amazing how I am almost never injured despite the miles I run. I am the least injured of my fellow marathon runners including several in their twenties. I credit my care from Dr. Otter with having a lot to do with that. I appreciate the flexible financial plans available that include bonus services and savings on the cost of treatment. If my schedule of running, teaching, and performing is tight, they get me out on time having received a great treatment. Overall, I feel fabulous and I hate missing a treatment on my wellness plan because that is what keeps me running! read more

My experience was not as great as the other reviewer. I showed up, while filling out my paperwork I was told they were going to have a very brief staff meeting. Umm... Ok. It wasn't brief. After 40 min from arrival time I asked how much longer I had to wait because I had to leave by a certain time... which I had informed them of when scheduling the appointment and upon arrival. Finally I was being seen. I was informed that they didn't have time to check with my insurance to see if I was covered so I would have to pay $90 that day and if insurance covered it I would be credited, reimbursed or something. Not very good explanation of how it would work. Seemed strange they wouldn't send it to insurance and have me billed later with the balance not covered. (My insurance is taken almost anywhere - BCBS) The treatment wasn't helpful at all. I actually ended up going to my regular chiropractor the very next week. This appointment was on a Thursday. She suggested I schedule another appointment with her the following Monday. I did as she suggested. By Monday I was still not happy with my experience so I called and canceled right away in the morning. She made it difficult to cancel and questioned me a few different ways on why I was canceling. Very awkward. I have yet to hear back on if my insurance covered any of the treatment and I'm pretty sure it didn't even get sent in. That was 3 weeks ago, at least. Needless to say I will not be going back no matter how bad need any adjustment. I highly suggest whoever is reading this goes somewhere else too. I won $150 of "free" services from Dr. Otter at a local festival as well. They were very nice at the festival. The first visit consisted of a lot of paper work to gather history and medical insurance information and a little bit of trigger point work (very minimal with no relief from pain). The second visit was the actual assessment that I had won, which consisted of more paperwork, no talk of insurance and still no pain relief (or adjustment). Dr. Otter said that she does not do adjustments on new patients right away before completely assessing their history and issues. I made an appointment for the following day as I was in a lot of pain. I went in a third time, indicated Dr. Otter that I did not feel well and just wanted an adjustment. The conversation that followed was rather confusing and then I asked if they even take my insurance and she said no. She asked if I wanted a referral and I said no to that and promptly left. There was no need for THREE visits to her rather remote office location (8100 Penn Ave) and when they figured out that they didn't take my insurance I would have appreciated a phone call. I indicated when first going there that I would not get service from them if my insurance did not work there. I would not recommend Dr. Otter to anyone as I felt duped and taken advantage of by her. read more
