As one should do, I shopped around for lenders (at least 4 different ones) and Stephanie was the only one that went above and beyond, providing personal attention and research for my special homestead case. When you have a couple of hundred thousand on the line, you want to be happy with your purchase on every level, and Stephanie Donell gave me such peace and mind. It was a wonderful experience. Stephanie and her team were very personable, responsive and worked around the clock, especially when it came close to closing escrow. She hopped on video/phone/email a couple times anytime I had questions and I never felt like a "transaction". She was so patient, sweet and warm, but most importantly she was experienced and knowledgeable. If I had a question she did not have an immediate answer to, she always circled back and answered after doing some research. On the day we closed escrow, Stephanie sent the cutest leather keychain with embossed lettering "home sweet home" which I found to be such a sweet and personable touch. What I found particularly impressive was that even after escrow closed, and we were settled in, the relationship was not over. Her company invested in software (Homebot) which sends an update once a month to keep us updated on the house value along with money saving tips. She always encouraged me to reach out if I had any questions, and about almost a year later, she followed up and gave me an advance heads up on what to expect for property taxes. She even personally helped me calculate estimated property taxes for 2023 so that there would be no surprises when the time come to pay. We were assigned Joelle, and let me just say, she's a vibe for sure! From the first meeting, she was communicative, responsive, and honest. She toured multiple homes with us, pointing out issues like awkward layouts or homes that wouldn't suit us long term. Her honesty and advice were exactly what we needed. We finally came across a home we loved from the pictures and set up a tour. But that same evening, someone put in an offer, and it was showing as pending or active contingent depending on the various apps. This is where Joelle excelled, and I think this is the difference between an okay realtor and a great one. She encouraged us to go see it anyway, explaining that deals can fall through and it doesn't hurt to check it out. When we saw the home, it was by far the best one we'd looked at in our price range. Joelle went to bat for us, reaching out to the listing agent, staying on top of the situation, and sure enough, that buyer's contract fell through. The situation was a bit unusual, involving solar panels, but Joelle navigated it seamlessly. After the inspection, she walked us through every detail, helping us prioritize what to negotiate. In the end, she negotiated $40k off the list price! Nearing the end, the final appraisal came in above the negotiated price which was definitely a huge win for us! I bring all the above up because things can get messy, and you better hope you have a capable realtor to navigate through it. We were so lucky to have Joelle in our corner. Beyond the buying process, she connected us with a property management company for our current home and recommended contractors to prepare the new one before moving in. The only downside was the Compass app the team uses. It lacked functionality, didn't allow favorites in map view, and missed the neighborhoods we were interested in. All the homes we toured came from a different app, and we had to manually add them to Compass to keep Joelle informed. While this doesn't reflect on Joelle or the team directly, it was a bit of a frustration. Overall, Joelle and the Brinkman Team knocked it out of the park. If you're looking for a realtor who's honest, experienced, and client focused, Joelle is the one you want in your corner. Highly recommend!
