Cute! Kinda Random! Over priced! Totally geared towards tourists and trying to lure each individual family member into purchasing an item. You will find jewelry, taro cards, foods shaped stuffies, coffee mugs, iron antler hooks, toys and astronaut food. Like I said,,, kinda random Also, like other yelpers have mentioned.... 2 ladies perched behind the counter..... judging you. They were super welcoming or friendly.,, they more or less existed and gave off "talk g about behind your back" vibes. At least this don't follow you around the store,,, so there's that. read more

I really loved this store. It was organized so well in cute categories. It had a lot of stuff without being overwhelming. I loved that books based on topics were spread throughout. This is really an inviting store. They also had a discounted section right at the front when you walk in. The staff was very friendly as well. read more

I was sad to read other reviews on here with people being treated unkindly. This was not my experience here, fortunately. There were 2 ladies working and no one was rude to me. One even asked me to let her know if I needed help looking at something. I enjoyed browsing here and found a lot of things unique. I left very happy with my purchases, and they even gave me a little paper describing the meaning behind the piece of art I bought. They wrapped my two breakables in bubble wrapped and they survived all of my shopping and 2 hours of driving. If I had only one complaint, it was not knowing the artist behind the stuff I bought, and perhaps they didn't know and just ordered it from online stock. Who knows. I still love what I bought either way and look forward to stop again next weekend when I'm back in Allegany for the weekend. read more

This is an interesting little shop and have some interesting items for sale. This is a place to take your time to browse to find that perfect item or gift for someone. We had fun looking through the store. It is small and they asked to wear masks but it was ok. Great place to pop in while walking around Ellicottville. read more

Horrible customer service. I bought approximately 135.00 worth of gift items and was told I couldn't get another bag (I'm referring to the free bags given to customers with purchase.). After my second purchase the sales clerk said "Is it ok to put it in your other bag"? I said I'd like another bag because they were both for gifts ( it is allegedly a "gift shop"). She said "Do you know how much bags cost?" I said that I wanted one and that I bought over 130.00 of merchandise, so that should be plenty to justify it. She said "wow" and gave me a dirty look. All three sales personnel did the same. They were all talking at the counter and never offered to help any customers. I can honestly say that I've been going to this shop for many years, and it's been a favorite of mine. I will never go back. It's sad that people don't appreciate customers and treat them kindly at this business. read more

I used to enjoy this OVER PRICED store. They had interesting items (all OVER PRICED). I did a google search on many items. All could be had substantially cheaper. One expensive whale decoration was actually on Walmart web site. Today, I was confronted with an obnoxious clerk who was aggressive and rude. I left and will not return. I know over the years I have easily spent over $1000 plus. No more!! The owner needs to have fair pricing and only employee competent and nice staff. On Sept 30 she had neither. Walked in with my daughter and her 3 friends, all in their early twenties. One friend asked (politely) if she could see a necklace. The elderly woman behind the counter said "Please?" rather rudely. Isn't that your job? To help the customers? Couldn't get out of there fast enough. read more

I am appalled by how rude the owner of this shop is! My husband and I used to be such big fans of this shop, every year for our anniversary we would dine at the local brewery and then stop in Kazoo for a trinket to mark the occasion. Not that it would matter much to the owner, but our tradition will be no longer. Kazoo has lost a consistent customer because of such behavior. My husband is a local artist, with his skills we have started our own little business. I called in regards of asking the owner if She would at least check out his product, of which we thought would be fitting in this particular shop. Because we have been long supporters of Kazoo we we were hoping to get a little support in return. Although disappointed, I would not have minded being simply turned down. To hang up on a customer with a proposition is incredibly childish and and unprofessional behavior, though. I never would have thought that a tourist shop of which sells such tastefully artistic merchandise, could be so rude and unsupportive of a local artist! Nice little shop in downtown Ellicottville. There is a comment about a mean old lady. I've been there a half dozen times and never experienced that. The folks who work there are older but they've always been really sweet. We make a point of buying all our card needs there to support local artists and shops. read more

Nasty mean older lady runs the register with an even older sweet lady. The nasty one snapped at me and told me I couldn't have a small box for the Christmas ornament I had just bought there. When I asked her if I could have one that they put their small necklaces in she said "those boxes are for the jewelry and you can't have one"(with a mean yelling tone and ugly scowling face). They just want your money and for you to buy something, they are mean and nasty bitter individuals. DO NOT Recommend at all!!! Their stuff is also very overpriced and you can find most of it for less money on Amazon. read more

***We will never shop again*** While spending a holiday weekend in Ellicottville we like to support the local stores. One of our previous favorites (kazoo ll) shocked us. It was a Sunday and the store was closing at 5 I wanted to stop in and get a gift before going to dinner. The Owner working stopped us at the door and rudely blurted out "were closed! I'm trying to get to a cookout, it's a holiday I'm closing early". With no sign of holiday hours and her rudely turning away customers. Customers were also coming out very annoyed. We figured ok let's go in tomorrow and get what he had our hearts set on. We walk into the store and the "Owner" can't be bothered to look up from her magazine, no acknowledgement, no common courtesy. We had brought out of town guests that were intrigued to see the store and were completely disappointed. This type of customer service is completely appalling. I hope your sales reflect your wonderful customer service ability. You have lost a long time customer, I'll continue to find the items you sell with "charm" cheaper on amazon and ebay. read more
