I can't say enough good things about Roland. I started my arduous search for a BK attorney with a serious, serious issue to the tune of $150,000. I won't get into the part where this debt came as a result of embezzlement against me that I couldn't prosecute. I looked at a lot of outfits offering "don't pay til you're filed" and people offering services for 1/3 the price or payment plans. Here's what it came down to: you can get the chop shop guys who pass you through their interns and assistants till you don't remember who you spoke with last or you can deal with one human who's going to keep track of your case and be diligent with you every step of the way. Roland Kedikian was that person for me. Flat out I could not afford to have any details overlooked on my case. I was filed and cleared in 3 months with his help. He sent follow-up letters to my debtors upon clearance of my bankruptcy and continues to support me months after my case has been filed as I find old debtors who "haven't gotten the memo" that they aren't legally allowed to bother me anymore about my past debts. Roland was the fifth bankruptcy attorney I met with. Based upon my profession, I deal a lot with attorneys so I have a pretty good idea which ones seem squared away. On almost all the prior meetings, I actually met with a paralegal. This was not the case with Roland. Upon meeting with him, he explained the whole bankruptcy process to me. I had done quite a bit of research, but I was happy to hear this because it confirmed what I learned. Roland also told me that he does all of his own paperwork--versus having a paralegal do it. I had a fairly complicated bankruptcy, but Roland seemed very knowledgeable. Was he the cheapest? No. He was middle of the road. The cheapest I came across was $400 cheaper then Roland. Trust me, the bankruptcy laws are so convoluted, it is worth it to spend $400 on more on a quality attorney. No one has any sympathy, so you need to have your paperwork correct the first time. Based upon my research and how he presented himself with his knowledge, I went with him. Long story short, I was extremely happy with Roland. He responds personally by e-mail. I even sent a few questions on the weekend, expecting an answer on Monday, but got a response on the weekend. In the past, I have represented myself in a divorce. Many people can do that if they are intelligent and do the research. With bankruptcy, don't do it. Get a quality attorney. In my search for a qualified bankruptcy attorney, I was looking for someone who I could feel comfortable hiring. In the spirit of thoroughness, I met with 5 attorneys. I observed a range of personalities- pushy, disinterested, vague, etc. Mr. Kedikian was the only attorney who, in addition to being credentialed, was kind, thorough, accurate, informative, and clear. Filing for bankruptcy is daunting and overwhelming. Your financial status is not the type of thing that should be handed over to just anyone. Mr. Kedikian did a great job for me and his calm and professional demeanor helped me regain peace of mind. He guided me through the bankruptcy process, returned all my phone calls on the same day, and ultimately completed my case within the expected timeline. It was such a relief to me to have Mr. Kadikian work on my bankruptcy case. I needed someone to help me go through my bankruptcy and not lose my home or my car. Of course, bankruptcy was a last resort for me after a long drawn out divorce, loss of my job, and and a fixed income.
