A year after my settlement was completed, I was getting mysterious calls for collections for my ambulance ride. However, the bill was never sent to me to verify the debt. Michael assured to me that the paperwork they sent was not the right paperwork to verify. But me being skeptical was still afraid and overly cautious because I'm a person who pays all his debts, and didn't want my credit score affected. So Michael suggested that he can hold some of the settlement money as a "just in case" fund until the statutes of limitations expire.
