I haven't had any experience in a situation like this and when looking up PIA's, the cyclist part got me. Came in and got handled by this attorney, Christine who barely greeted me before going over the preliminary paperwork, gathering info on what happened. She didn't ask me my name until well into filling the stuff out and had the personality of a rock. I told her I didn't know anything about this process and usually that's a cue to break things down so everyone is on the same page. She was as curt as possible and I left the office with a bad taste in my mouth. I get a welcome packet that stated I should contact the firm when I'm going to a doctor appointment so I call in to let them know. I speak to Christine and say who I am. She immediately tells me that "we've looked at your case and we can't help you." Then literally stopped right there. I'm like um.... can I get some sort of explanation? I was willing to overlook the lack of charisma and welcome feelings because I thought she must be a terminator in the courtroom, which would be a good thing, but it boiled down to they either aren't creative enough to prove fault (when a fence falls on me while i'm minding my own business) or I just can't make them enough money to justify those e-mails and phone calls they have to make to collect FORTY PERCENT of the judgement. Heaven forbid you have to have her try and sell a jury. She'll get zero sympathy from them on your behalf and you'll get zero sympathy from her. If you don't want to take the case cause it's not a financial boon then just say so. Meanwhile, it's been over two weeks and I still can't use my right hand, have to see a therapist because of the stress/trauma related flashbacks and can barely work due to the loss of mobility in my wrist. So much for no lingering effects. If you're gonna call an ambulance chaser, find a better vehicle to chase in. ****update**** As Lenore clearly posted in her response we had a conversation yesterday. She reached out and we had a pleasant conversation. Addressed everything in my post and seemed to have an understanding. Then this morning she comes out with this unhinged response. The sexist tone of her response is unappreciated. I never made any sort of comment on gender. This basically proves why I would be better served elsewhere. Instead of looking at a critique of her business and employees, she looks at as a way to attack and be defensive. Good riddance

Jake billed me more than $107,000 before I finally changed attorneys, and the results and level of representation I received did not come close to justifying half of those fees. Despite the stakes of my divorce and SAPCR proceedings, my deposition preparation consisted of a Zoom call lasting less than 40 minutes. I was not adequately prepared for significant areas of questioning that arose during the deposition. Jake also failed to adequately communicate how rapidly my legal fees were escalating. On May 8, 2026, I was informed for the first time that the firm claimed I owed an additional $48,177.34, after I had already paid $59,432.65. The lack of results was equally frustrating. Over approximately four months, Jake was not even able to successfully resolve the return of my personal possessions from my former spouse. I was paying an extraordinary amount of money while watching basic issues remain unresolved. Most concerning, I did not receive the strategic guidance, preparation, communication, and advocacy I expected from an attorney charging these rates. I hired Jake expecting an experienced family-law attorney who would protect my interests and provide clear direction during one of the most consequential legal matters of my life. That was not my experience. I eventually changed attorneys, but by then I had been billed more than $107,000 thousand dollars and was left not even making it to first base in the process. He refuses to return calls, voicemail, certified letters, emails, etc. The address listed here on Google and his website are just a coworking space that doesn't even claim to know who he is - it is certainly not his office. I have an active case with the State Bar Of Texas to investigate this issue and he is also ignoring all communication attempts from the State Bar. Prior to this I had opened a case with the Client Attorney Assistance Program and he ignored them, too. He owes me several thousand dollars and is in breach of contract for failure to return an unearned retainer. Not only is failure to return an unearned retainer unethical, but given the amount of time that has passed this has potential criminal and civil consequences for Mr. Coonley. Although he is (technically) a lawyer it's not clear he understands that failure to reply to a grievance issued by the Chief Disciplinary Council of the State Bar Of Texas has the potential to get him disbarred at worst and at best produces a public reprimand which will be on his record forever. I would never recommend anyone work with this attorney. I went to the address listed on his google business page and couldn't find him anywhere, nor anybody who know who he was. Eventually after a long time, I believe after I left a negative review on google, he finally reached out. He agreed to refund me for my LLC filing fees, which makes sense since he didn't actually file the LLC, but not his time, even though he really didn't help me accomplish anything. I was at least relieved to get a refund. That process was just as frustrating. It took multiple weeks of calling and texting incessantly to get the refund actually processed, and he was less than pleasant to deal with and whined about what a pain in the ass the refund process was for him. After FINALLY receiving the refund, he asked me to take down the negative google review I left for him. Despite all he had put me through, I said if he came by and shook my hand and apologized like a man, I would take it down. He agreed and then I never heard from him again. WHAT A JOKE!

She gave mu wife and I excuse after excuse for months. She filed and extension and then did nothing for months. She even suggested I was a liar when I told her how long she had my documents. I have all communications documented. This morning I blew up her phone demanding my documents be returned. I told her I would get my story out about her online so she sent the Hays County Sheriff to my house. Stay clear of this person is my advice. The police officer and I had a good laugh. He couldn't believe she'd had my documents for four months either. She is now threatening me here on yelp and telling lies because I posted a yelp review. I didn't know it was illegal to post reviews about businesses that are terrible. Everybody here should read the story about her company on KXAN. I've never threatened this lady. She is a liar. The only thing I told her is that I would share my story on Facebook, which I've done. I will also be filing a complaint with the Texas bar association.
