For the timers standing in the blazing sun, they offered water, candy and frozen towels. For my husband who helped set up, they gave him a Chick-fil-A breakfast sandwich. We've never gotten food before for volunteering at swim meets! As for the pool itself, it's got plenty of parking and has good shade cover over most of the pool in the mornings. There is an awesome snack bar (Shark Shake) offering warm food including mozzarella sticks and pizza. Some of the facilities were a little older (eg, the bathroom), but I like to think the pool has chosen to spend its money on things like being hospitable and offering food to volunteers. This is a great community pool in the middle of a neighborhood that I'm sure is valued by the people who live nearby.

This place is horrible. I pay $28,000 in tuition every semester, and you're telling me I can't use…read morethe SINGLE ab machine in the entire gym? Wtf? I walk in and see a huge part of the place "under construction." Keep in mind I have a fractured elbow and other injuries, and the only way for me to train abs right now is with an ab machine which is locked away in a room labeled "under construction." Why can't you just move the only ab machine out of that room and put it in the main area? Is it too heavy? Does it not have wheels? I genuinely don't get it. And every time you walk in, something is always out of service. The Smith machine has been broken since August and it's now the end of the semester. All this money, and the only thing they can do is tell you "you can't do this, you can't do that." At this point I'm seriously considering getting a membership at a private gym. I can't stand this place anymore. If you go to GMU or plan to, seriously consider the fact that the fitness facilities, not just the Aquatic Center, offer horrible service with pointless "safety" rules and regulations that make everyone's life harder. They do such a great job closing the pool that is it always ready to use within 24 hours of opening in the spring - clear water and perfectly balanced chemicals. This year, I unfortunately had mice eat through some of the elements for my pool heater and Dima came out to troubleshoot and fix quickly. He even cleaned out the mess the mice had made and took steps to deter them from coming back. Dima also spent a great deal of time completely rewiring my pool pump and equipment (it was wired wrong by the pool builder) so I could control everything via the app. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, reliable, and trustworthy residential pool service definitely use DMV Pools!

Classes are good and offer varied options, but you may have to hunt for which gym works for your time schedule as getting to one on time is a chore with our traffic. Including all the basics you may need and more, like child care optional extras for the families that need it. At this pace this is set to be a good gym for you for the next ten years easily.

We do not belong to the pool but we fully utilize the tennis courts through a paid program. My son…read morehas been taking lessons here for a couple of years now and we love how it is hidden in the middle of the Wakefield Chapel neighborhood & surrounded by trees. They have two separate courts; a bigger one on the higher level that has two on it and the smaller one on the lower level that has one, so it's really a great facility where you can have a lot of people playing at once. There's also a little tennis building with a covered cabana area that offers tables & a lot of seating where parents or friends and family can sit and relax while they wait, and a smaller waiting area between the two courts. If you prefer to stay active while you wait, the grounds are connected to many trails that you can go walk or run on. Our neighborhood community pool has swam against this pool during swim season and it is also a beautiful facility.
