I initially sent a text asking about their services and was asked to give the owner a call. He was very knowledgeable, easy to work with, and clearly concerned about getting the best possible quality from my old films. We arranged a time for me to drop off six Super 8 reels, and I was amazed when I received a text about a day later saying they were finished. What impressed me most was that he didn't simply transfer the film. He also corrected the playback speed and reduced some of the jitter that is common with old 8mm home movies. The final result exceeded my expectations. The converted movies were returned on a USB drive for an additional $10. Pricing was very reasonable, turnaround time was excellent, and I was especially glad to find a local service rather than shipping irreplaceable family memories somewhere and hoping for the best. He teamed up very well with our photographer. They assisted each other in "setting the stage", coordinating the best angles, and direction of travel. On the wedding day, Eddie came in early with a second shooter to videograph my fiancé and I getting ready in separate homes. He drove to a nearby park for our first look then traveled 1hr away to get to the church. At the ceremony, he mounted several cameras to get the best angles and was active throughout the time to get the optimum shots while also respecting distance. May I mention, this was in the hot heat of July - ...following the bride and groom as we galivanted around the park ...videotaped the full ceremony without a flinch even though the church air conditioning was broken ...and patiently waited for the end of the festivities although our contracted time had long exceeded. Eddie formatted and published a five-minute teaser just 2wks after our wedding. He followed up with the full video shortly after. He is fairly priced and worth every penny. He intently listens to any special requests or ideas you have in mind. In order to make COVID adjustments, my fiancé and I decided to celebrate our ceremony and reception on separate occasions. He was very accommodating and flexible in adjusting the contract/hours and was happy to edit videography for the separate events and join all the video the following year. His videography was fantastic. Eddie grabbed unique panoramic shots during the ceremony, videotaped the perfect candid moments, and gathered experiences of family and friends that the bride and groom weren't even aware of. I checked out prices of other places including big box stores such as Costco and these prices can't be beat!!! I brought 27 reels (of different size) film, and a half dozen VHS tapes- all jumbled together in a cardboard box- to A Video & Image Company to be converted to DVDs. I think it safe to say the order was a genuine professional challenge. What a great job was done! I had copies made for my sibling's families and my parents. They all said that this was the best gift they could have ever received. Most of the films were 30 to 40 years old and could not be watched without being converted. After calling around to a few similar places, this company had the best price by at least $11, quoting me $25 on the phone. I went, and the owner had stepped out of the office for a moment. I called and left a message as instructed on the door; he called back as soon as he returned. I showed him the DVD, and he agreed to do it within 24 hours, although I'm sure he would have been willing to do it that day had I needed it. He then asked me if I had the coupon from Clippers magazine (I didn't), and gave me the discounted price anyway! The DVD worked great. Really couldn't have asked for a better experience. One thing: don't be put off by the slightly-hard-to-find, unnattractive back-of-a-warehouse looking location with the crackling power lines. The inside of the office is small and cozy, and the service is absolutely unbeatable!

I interviewed more than 10 videographers in Chicago to get a sense of whose team fit my needs better, and Turning Point Productions definitely stood out the most for its fair pricing and impeccable work. First of all, this team was always responsive when I had a question or concern. I never met Frank, the editor, or Katie, the studio manager, but they were always available via emails or phone. I talked to Frank many times on the phone before I booked, and he understood exactly what I wanted and what I didn't. He ensured me that there will be no "hand-held effect" in my video, and he was very flexible with my wedding timeline. The team of two videographers arrived on time and dressed appropriately on my wedding day. They were very polite and detail-oriented. They captured all the important moments I requested such as first look with my husband and when my dad put down my blusher before walking me down the aisle etc. For all the fun parts like opening the dance floor, of course they did an amazing job as well. They also filmed in some unexpected angles that ended up making the whole video very touching! Frank is an excellent editor, and I'm not saying this because he did such a wonderful job at editing my video. I was so confident in him and his skills even before booking. His portfolio was very self-explanatory. When I received my trailer just seven days after my wedding, I was so touched by he told the story and all the special moments captured.
