I initially sent a text asking about their services and was asked to give the owner a call. He was very knowledgeable, easy to work with, and clearly concerned about getting the best possible quality from my old films. We arranged a time for me to drop off six Super 8 reels, and I was amazed when I received a text about a day later saying they were finished. What impressed me most was that he didn't simply transfer the film. He also corrected the playback speed and reduced some of the jitter that is common with old 8mm home movies. The final result exceeded my expectations. The converted movies were returned on a USB drive for an additional $10. Pricing was very reasonable, turnaround time was excellent, and I was especially glad to find a local service rather than shipping irreplaceable family memories somewhere and hoping for the best. I would absolutely recommend Midwest Digital Conversions for anyone looking to preserve old film, VHS, or Hi8 recordings.

Last weekend I hosted a tennis themed bar mitzvah for my son. No bar mitzvah is complete without…read moreswag - sweatshirt, flannels, etc. We also had an entire pro shop filled with fun swag from Custom Specialty Promotions (and a few things from other vendors as well). We priced out all the items and Diane had the most competitive pricing for the majority of them. I try to get things done super early so I'm not scrambling at the last minute. We started chatting with Diane many months before the event, but didn't actually place the order until about 5 weeks beforehand. While this usually seems to be enough time it did feel very rushed for a few days making decisions on designing each item, but appreciated that Diane worked fast to get in done. Everything got to Chicago in time for the party with the exception of sports fingers for the dance floor that got held up in customs in Canada. If i use Diane again, which is likely, I plan to get all the orders in 8 weeks of time to give us a bit more breathing room. Everything came out super cute - favorites being the sweatshirts (don't think my son has taken his off all week), sports sandals (the women really appreciated them halfway thru the night when their feet started to hurt and it kept all of us dancing), flannels (always the most popular item). Diane also did a great job of sharing her thoughts on which of our logos would look best on each item...and the finished productions were adorable. I appreciated how communicative she was with both me and our event planner thru the process. We spent a small fortunate on swag, which we paid for once everything was all in, but it really did look super cute in the pro shop. I've seen a few kids wearing hats, sweatshirts and more around town which also puts a smile on my face.

They are not clear about prcing and what is included. All information changes all the time just to get you screwed up. We signed a contract that plain and clear says that we would get Sep and Oct 2010 mailing to 2 zones at $1200 each mailing total of $2400.00 for 2 zones 2 months.After the first month we received anothe invoice of $2400.00!!! When I called Pete at accounting he says he knows nothing-talk to Nick (the crooked guy behind the operation who signed the contract). We were trying to get hold of Nick for several days, he was obviously avoiding us, leaving us messages PAST our business hours that we gave and not even trying to call my cell. Finally, he did. How it turned out that EACH zone s $1200 and it cost $2400.00 PER MONTH FOR TWO ZONES ( Total of $4800 for two months!!!!) to advertise with them. There is no informaion about that on the contract. I refused to that. Nick said that it is important to him that our business gets return on investment and he will come to our office to resolve this situation before October mailing goes out. No show , no call. Finally towards the end of the day I asked my assistant to call him ( did not want to deal with him personally): Nick said that there will be no October mailing, unless we pay $2400. BS! This guy is out there to get quick money and will try to scam you-ROI is very poor. From supposedly 40,000 (which I doubt they mailed that many) we got 4 phone calls from prospective clients and had only 2 appointments. That cost $2400! On the other hand we keep getting annoying calls from other advertsing agencies who "got RSVP card"-so I do not know if our info was sold to them, or if RSVP sending cards to physical adress vs. residential only.
