We were finally ready to buy And had gone to another local furniture store. Not seeing what we liked or could afford, we headed to The Minds Eye and were greeted with a smile by Rachel Sherman. We explained what we were looking for as well as our needs In both style & quality. Rachel made numerous suggestions & we were able to find just what we wanted. We were able to make arrangements to have a furpture delivery based on when we sell our current furnitur there was no problem getting our furniture as all of it was in stock in their warehouse in Kona. We sold our rattan furniture quickly & the furniture was delivered 5 days later. Great service, beautiful furniture. We will be going there again when we are ready to redo the next room.

I consider Jason one of the Tiki legends but I know he doesn't think he's a legend, and that's how…read morelaid-back and modest and cool this icon to the Tiki community is; he's the Tiki Lamp God. If he was reading this now I can imagine his face turning bright red, much like how I look after I consume certain types of alcohol! Calling him a Lamp God is a bit of an insult, actually, but I have to introduce the wonderful people reading this to his craft and art and creations and if I don't at least mention the word "Tiki" and "Lamp" together, it would lose people. I first found Jason on Facebook, and then Instagram. I fell in love with the Tiki culture and all things Tiki, then I found the lamps he creates, and it was love at first lamp! If you appreciate custom-lighting like I do, you will want to have Jason create you a lamp-of-all-lamps. He can turn almost anything into a lamp, tiki or not. I've seen him make a Maneki Neko Japanese ceramic cat into a lamp that was so popular on Instagram people were BEGGING him for it, but he does not mass-produce anything, he creates them, one at a time, custom-made, lovingly, and he does not only make lamps, he makes custom hanging lights and lit wall lighting; he's a wizard with resin as well. Jason created my custom one-of-a-kind lamp made out of a tiki mug I chose. I also got to choose the shade as well. I knew I was going to the Big Island for a trip so I thought I would I would send the mug ahead of time and he would create it, then I would pick it up, and that's exactly how it worked out. Jason told me he actually prefers to have people pick it up in person, and he's been doing this for years so he can also mail it out, but just think of the money you would save on shipping, the fun you'd have going to the Big Island as an excuse to pick up your amazing lamp, and the great honor you'd have meeting the Tiki Lamp God himself, Mr. Jason! This review may sound a bit whimsical, but Jason's creations are heirloom-quality, to be handed down for generations to come; you may be wondering how I know these things, it's because I'm an artist and a craftsman myself. I know the laborious process of creating something by hand, and something that's only one-of-a-kind, and truth be told, craftsmen never get get reimbursed their full time for the love they create; I used to craft stained glass and there is no way I could re-coup the full time and labor making my art and putting a price on it, but the difference between myself and Jason is that he makes his living creating his art and I was only doing it as a hobby, and I was only marginally good at it, whereas Jason is amazing at what he does; he is the master of his craft as well as a good businessman: texts back promptly, delivers on time, does professional work: many of his creations are in a lot of well-known businesses as well and he is well-respected in the local community and beyond, including Europe, Japan and Australia. I've already ordered two more mugs tonight and looking forward to having Jason create me more custom-lighting! Some of the plants looked like they needed a little more love, but they had a bunch of hibiscus colors I hadn't seen before (which was awesome), some indoor plants, a large variety of palms, and fruit trees!

This alerted me but, I gave them credit because I had purchased from the nursery over several years. It was the staff that encouraged us to use them for design and installation work. Use caution as they say they have or can get or do and then back out. Sad to relay this message but true experience. Realize it is hard to find staff which makes committing to a schedule difficult, but dragging a customer on was not a good approach. I'm a positive reviewer type, want to help out local businesses over WalMart. Hard to write this but feel others should go in aware in the hope they have a better experience. The nursery has limited hours, not necessarily the hours posted. Went by several times when they were supposed to be open but were closed.
