Owner then tried to blame my wife even though he was not party to the discussions when we were offered an alternative tile layout ( we went for a running pattern rather then the brickbond/ 1/3 bond pattern - which was offered to us by the installer) - left us with around £500/600 surplus tiles. The only positive out of this experience was the tiler - who was superb - and fortunately a third party contractor of this business and someone who I would recommend - polite, courteous and professional - everything this business is not. The owners attempt at reconciliation for his mistake ( he was the one who came around and measured them) was that we deliver them back to his over priced little tile shop and he would resell them for us). His excuse for not taking them back - he had no room. The sooner business like this go bust the better for consumers.

The staff are really knowledgable and helpful and will do there best to help in any way they can. They have helped me out on nemerous occasions when I have come in here looking for obscure sized batteries or DIY equipment. As well as DIY equipment they also sell such things as batteries, lights, kitchen equipment, household goods and they also cut keys. Their prices are really reasonable, often cheaper than the big DIY shops.

But I really do go there as much for the ambience and cosy feeling of a family business which supplies just about any timber product you could ever need and always at a very reasonable price. It's easy to get lost among the huge uncut logs and piles and piles of timber which leave you wondering to what use they might be put. The staff are wonderfully cool and very knowlegable and especially helpful. Wel worth a visit- if only to wander around the yard!

On the tool side of things they have everything from drills to sanders to decorating equipment. The plant section is equally stocked with anything you could desire such as mini diggers, dumpers, and compressors. There's a free delivery service if you're local and if you're not it's not much more anyway. Their kit is always in excellent condition and their rates are very competitive. They can deliver sand and gravel, remove waste, supply drivers - frankly quite a lot of things. If it's tool / plant hire you need, you can do much worse than giving these guys a call.

The staff look like a bunch of kids doing a stretch of community service, but are really helpful, good humoured and hard working. They'll go out of their way to try and find you what you want, and will pass you onto the Gaffa or Gaffa's mate if they come unstuck in their search. I recently bought a manhole cover for £20 to stand my wood burner on, after discussing the usage at length with the boss. I was offered assurance that it would do the job without presenting a fire risk, and was offered additional advice about how to fix it and where I could go if I needed help with welding. It is clear to see they have plenty available for the trade customers, but treat the public with the same level of respect when buying. Me & my partner went to buy floorboard, which was great to see that they recycle by making their own floorboard from the old Victorian wood. They can accommodate your every need and would definitely recommend. PS every sale they make under £5 is donated to the Bristol Children's Hospital.
