They missed the mark by discharging him only for a day later being rushed into emergency surgery and having to stay two months and then facing at least a year recovery if not longer. I hope he sues the crap out of these stooges for the lack of care and quite frankly malpractice. From ICU right down to the absolute ignorance and incompetence of their floor staff. The entire experience I witnessed was absolutely unacceptable and disturbing. They should be ashamed. Their patient advocacy program is a joke. They lie to you and do nothing to advocate for patients. You think they're on your side but don't fall for it. They're not your friend! It's also filthy. We had to constantly remind them nobody has been by to clean in days. Just gross!

Went to see Dr. Mincy in early 2009 for complications regarding my Chiari 1 Malformation, as…read morerecommended by my insurance company. I arrived to my appointment early, and filled out the loads of paperwork which took about half an hour to do. I waited about 15 minutes beyond that and got taken back to an exam room. I met with a nurse where she took my vitals and took a very thorough medical history. I probably spent about 20 minutes with her, before she left the room, stating that I needed to get in a gown. I quickly changed clothes, and no less than 2 minutes later, Dr. Mincy entered the room. Before introducing himself or giving me any sort of greeting he stated "You shouldn't be here! You need to go see the specialists on Long Island!" Dr. Mincy informed me that he was going to have my co-payment refunded to me. I asked him to please bill the insurance so I could get the needed referral to go to Long Island, however, he refused. I asked him if he would even write a note stating that he refused to treat me, but he declined. My insurance company had him down for a specialist, who treated Chiari 1 Malformation...if you don't work with this diagnosis, you need to inform the insurance companies that you don't deal with this condition to save others time and tears.

I had reliable trans but need since this place charges enough $ I said fine. I was told they'd bring me home at 3. It is now 3:41pm!!! I'm in my room on the 4th floor of the hospital. With no ride here yet!!! Apparently J somehow should know they have a 1-2 hr window to take you home???!!!! I have my home health aide sitting in her car in the parking lot to my locked apt bldg.since 3. Thank God she's got her car. Most aides, walk, or get dropped off! What would they do besides catch pneumonia??!!!! I live in Schenectad. Next time I will try Ellis again or go to the hospital in Amsterdam!!
