While we were there, we mainly stayed at the playground. The playground is a good size, with a mix of things for toddlers and older kids to enjoy. C really had fun on the two tight ropes, large green slide, swings, and the wobbly balancing thing towards the back of the playground. The only downside to this playground were the wood chips...ouch! Make sure your little one (and you) wears sneakers rather than open toe shoes. We also checked out the pavilion area, which wasn't far from the playground and had restrooms. Besides the playground and pavilion, the park had three open fields, a baseball field, basketball court, and a walking trail. Parking was plentiful with one smaller lot near the playground/pavilion and a larger lot off of Airpark Road.

The equipment (as stated) is modern and new, with neat touches like a solar panel cell phone charging station for adults. There is also a huge field and baseball diamond, and a pavilion with benches and a grill. My daughter loved it so much, she refused to leave. Which means a 5 star review even if it means exhaustion for the parent! As a bonus, there is an ice cream park that will stop by in the afternoon. I don't know the exact schedule but both times we visited they showed up.

The entrance was easy to spot from the street and there was plenty of parking. I noticed one of those solar phone chargers, a playground, and a big field. A bunch of kids were playing soccer. I spotted a pavilion with one long bench... that's why I settled to eat my food. It was quite relaxing -- and the food is a story for another time. The park seems a good size for a neighborhood park, but I didn't take too much time to walk around since I had just planned to leave after I ate. It was pretty chill, and I will definitely return if I'm in the area and the weather is nice.

There is also lots of green space, with picnic tables, grills, a ping pong table, and tennis courts nearby and walking paths. The King Farm neighborhood is also very safe and pleasant, the park very clean and well kept, and plenty of parking available for those driving in. My only other nitpick would be there is a lack of shade on the playground itself, so it can get hot and sunny mid day. Otherwise, tis is one of the best parks/playgrounds in the county!

I slammed those balls into orbit! Next I came here while watching her boyfriend's softball team compete. They were sponsored by Herson's Honda. I was the score keeper as well as the bat boy for the season. You've got to know when it's safe to get the bat because the play might still be a live play! There were some pretty slick slides that season. One of our players looked like Marc McGwire. I think I'm the first person who ever told him that, and everyone was geeking. Shoot this must have been in 1998. Fast forward to the middle 2000s when this was (and still is) the best spot to play basketball. That one rim has been crooked for as long as I remember. I've got fond memories of playing here under the lights on warm summer nights, saying how we're going to leave but really we chill there for hours, checking out a beatle or discussing girls. I love the cornfields across the street. I also love this park simply because it feels like a step back in time. Here you are, out on Sundown Road, far away from the trendy cities, having fun with your friends. We should have had our Homecoming pictures here. This was a good place to chill/kill time in case your friend wasn't ready for you to come over for the house party since his parents hadn't left for the Pocono's yet. Please don't throw away the beer bottles here though! That's what elementary school dumpsters are for. More recently I have used this park as a pit stop during long runs. They've got tennis courts, baseball/football fields, and a playground. There's hardly anyone here. I don't know where everyone is.

This facility consists of 7 indoor pickleball courts which may be the most in Montgomery county…read more Drop-in plays are available two days a week -Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 am to noon. There are two open gyms - one with 4 courts for beginners and intermediate players and the other with 3 courts for advanced players. In addition to drop-ins, free beginners clinics are also provided on Fridays between 8:30 am and 10 am. These helpful clinics are conducted by advanced player volunteers and they are very beneficial for those who are interested in learning to play pickleball for the first time. Pickleball is offered indoor at Bohrer Activity Center during Fall, Winter and Spring sessions. For the summer months, it is moved outdoor to Diamond Farms Park, Gaithersburg. For each indoor session, there is a fee of $3 for Gaithersburg residents and $4 for non-residents for participating in the drop-ins and clinics which is a good deal when compared to other indoor court time or activities. There is no fee for outdoor sessions however. So beginners will get free clinics outdoor on Fridays. So for those who are interested in the fastest growing sports in U.S., we are fortunate to have this facility with venues for all levels of skills nearby. I tend to use this park for the public water supply on some of my local runs. There is a free water fountain in between all three baseball/softball fields, and it is a perfect oasis for when I'm out on a hot run during the morning or evening. There are also plenty of running/biking paths that connect several different neighborhoods to each other, making this a great central location connecting the communities of Rockville. Honestly, this is one of my favorite parks to bring my little puppy to, and to just wile away the hot summer days with the plethora of shade and a creek running through.

Some friends and I went for a hike on a Sunday morning and while the website says they might charge you a few dollars for parking, we didn't see anyone at the gate house and no one asked us. At the Ranger station, the bathrooms were very clean, quite warm actually, and there was a couple of interesting habitat exhibits. Just a really well run state park with lots of activities. They even had a station where you can get free firewood, and build a little fire.
