Before deciding to go here, I'd like you to think about one word: RULES…read more This splash park has a LOT of them, and I do mean a LOT. You can't exit, even if you forgot something at your car. You can't bring in water bottles with water in them. No jewelry or even an Apple Watch on the slides. I forgot my phone in the car, and was only allowed to get it when the manager escorted me. The workers were nice enough about enforcement, but it all got a little tiring after awhile. This is a municipal park, not DisneyWorld. Chill. As for the park itself, it's fine. A big (not particularly deep) pool, surrounded by 3 slides (one for tykes, another for under 7, and the grandaddy of them all, which is towering). There was plenty of space for sitting and umbrellas. The bathrooms are clean, the pool and slides are well maintained and there are lifeguards everywhere. The water is ice cold, and there are vending machines. Outside food is allowed (maybe this is just due to covid, there was a grille but it was closed), but don't get cute trying to sneak in liquor because they do search your bags thoroughly. I get the sense the city really cares about this facility and treats it accordingly. But check beforehand. Weekends are for city residents ONLY. Nobody from outside MoCo is allowed in, and they will check your ID to confirm. For some reason, I was only charged $6 (the city rate) instead of $11 (I like in Silver Spring) so that admittedly influenced my rating. I might have been a but harsher (because rules) had I paid full cost. My kids (ages 9 and 12) got a bit bored after awhile, but for the price, this isn't a bad way to blow an afternoon.

The lodge is a wonderful venue to hold events. This property is ideal for weddings, parties and…read morecommunity events. If you decorated with fancy chairs, you could have a wonderful wedding. If you wanted an informal family reunion or block party, the location is great. There is a giant fireplace inside the main building and a fire pit outside. If I were having an event at the lodge, I would make sure that there wasn't any roadwork going on that could cause a delay for guests.

The lodge/cabin is cozy and adorable. There is a fireplace in the center of the main room. The outside deck was spruced up with white Christmas lights and it looked really nice. The deck is a perfect place for pictures and over looks a field. The backyard perfectly fits a white tent with plenty of room for people to move about the grounds. Parking is limited in front of the lodge and there is construction currently on the road in front which turns to road to a one lane road. I would love to come to more events here, rustic chic!

From the pictures on Yelp I expected the scene to be a bit more of lush greenery and even maybe some rose bushes. When I went to the park, it was a bit more barren and ides of winter than I was hoping for. That being said, the quaint little cozy stroll of a park is located right in old town Gaithersburg behind a large apartment complex that I'm CERTAIN gets its fill of it during the spring and summer. The park has AMPLE amounts of seating. Bench swings line the entry path which also has a little pavillion that could host a number of different happenings - first thoughts go to band stand. Then on the path you find a circled group of seats that evoke King arthur and the knights of the roundtable vibes. Most especially because the head chair at 12 o clock - crafted of large branches can only be considered a throne of sorts. Stroll further in the park and you find a lengthy sand village, complete with miniature log houses, outlined in stumps, and to me gives off the impression of a Japanese sandy zen garden. There are 2 slides built into the side of a hill that tempt the childhood in me. And another large sunken circular pit that has tree stumps to sit in. At the end of a garden is a water pump that has a little downspout into a creek. Of course... I tried the waterpump and the well was unfortunately dry. But, as a kid I could only imagine the fun when it's really going. It seems like Constitution Gardens has the potential of a young nation that just asserted its independence from its empire. I really pray that it's somewhat untended to current condition is just it's current hibernation phase from the winter. Because man oh man can you just imagine the fun that kids would have here, and the VARIOUS spots that parents could congregate and come together for rich and vibrant conversations about their community. I will go back to the gardens later in the Spring to see if it's lived up to it's inherent potential. I truly can't wait.

First - this is an amazing park…read more 1. Soccer fields everywhere!!! 2. Cricket, I walk by on the weekends and watch the matches - i miss cricket! 3. The walking trails are well maintained and both bikers and walkers are friendly! This is an amazing park. With indoor tennis, indoor pool as well as outdoor tennis, and outdoor pool. A water recreation area. Soccer fields and baseball/softball diamonds as well as a huge picnic area. This part has something from everyone! It was windy while i was walking in the park. But, the people were still out watching their kids play soccer! From being welcomed at the…read moredesk (I am so sorry I can't remember his name!), to our awesome guides Justin and Jasmine, to Scott who helped at the swing and doing the belay to get us down - we truly enjoyed the whole experience (despite the unbearable heat this weekend). Justin and Jasmine made sure we stayed hydrated, and regularly brought us into the air conditioning to avoid overheating. They ensured our safety every moment we were there. The rope course was insanely fun, the giant swing and zip line were a blast and our favorite part was honestly the rock climbing! Justin and Jasmine were fantastic - we will definitely come back (preferably not during a heat wave haha) and hope they will be our guides again - every single person today made it memorable for my family! Thank you so much!!!

This should be an opportunity to identify a solution comfortable for everyone affected by providing single use options, as opposed to telling my daughter "it's ok because he identifies as a she". It caused an uncomfortable situation for girls and concerns for parents. No young girl should feel uncomfortable or anxious using the restroom.

Recently opened in February, TFCC is a new and welcome addition to the Rockville Parks & Rec…read moredepartment. Located in the Fallsgrove area, the community center is both convenient to my office and a very affordable gym option. The facilities (all brand new) include a big basketball court, a ping-pong room, a fitness room with weight and cardio machines, a playground outside for the kiddies, a community garden that's starting to grow, and a few rooms for classes/events. And, the building was built with many sustainable features (i.e. geothermal heating, locally sourced materials, efficient water faucets) I've been a fitness member for a while which means I can access the fitness room whenever the center is open. On top of that I take a weekly kickboxing class that is a lot of fun (but also kicks my butt.) I really like that I can take as many or as few classes as I want and just pay for what I actually use through the Parks & Rec department. At typical membership gyms, you pay an inflated fee to pay for all these classes you don't even go to and all the personal trainers to annoy you to take a training session and all the sales people to haggle with you over an extra $5 off the 'joining fee'. Here you can pay a flat rate and get access for a month, 3 months, 6 months, or a year. And there is a discount if you're a resident of Rockville. The community center also has community events like basketball tournaments, festivals for kids, teen movie nights, and other family oriented things that are a nice addition to the area. I haven't tried these out as I don't play basketball, am not a kid nor am I a teen but they look like fun family functions. Overall I highly recommend TFCC and am very satisfied, especially since I don't have to commit to a membership gym!

It was a great combination for both the kids and adults. The inflatable waterpark kept the kids busy for the entire session. El Jefe, the large slide, and Thor, the climbing tower and slide, were our favorites. I strongly recommend booking one of the first sessions during the summer. We went early when it was less crowded, and it became noticeably busier later. In the afternoon, we completed the green and blue aerial trails. Both were a lot of fun, and the progression from one to the next worked well. Overall, River Riders is an excellent choice for families or groups looking for an active full day near Harpers Ferry.

Despite having prior rafting experience and maintaining strong physical fitness, this individual tubing trip presented hazardous conditions with virtually no on-water safety support. ​Key Issues Observed: ​No Helmets Suggested or Required: Helmets were not recommended, suggested, or provided for navigating rocky rapids. I capsized and hit my head on submerged rocks--a dangerous hazard that warrants clear guidance and mandatory head protection. ​Zero Rescue Personnel: No river guides or safety kayakers were stationed along technical sections. When participants were pinned against rocks or stranded in strong currents, there was no staff to assist. ​Inadequate Instruction & Extreme Strain: Relying solely on arm paddling through boulder gardens offers minimal control and quickly causes physical exhaustion, even for fit individuals. ​Equipment Failures: Some tubes were punctured by sharp rocks, leaving guests stranded in turbulent water with no emergency extraction protocol. Commercial river outfitters have a basic duty of care to provide essential protective gear, clear instruction, and active supervision. I strongly advise making sure these safety practices are in place before booking unless you have experience and are comfortable without the precautions.
