There is pottery, blown glass, carved wood, and many more handmade items. It's great that many artists fill this space and their stories are shown through their info cards by their work.

It's similarly sized to other college town artist co-ops that I've encountered, but their inventory has some of the best variety of mixed media I've seen, at an appreciably high standard. Jewelry/accessories, apparel, pottery/glassware, wood carvings, prints/paintings, wreaths, and more home decor of all materials and dimensions. We found the perfect souvenirs to commemorate a group hike we did during our trip, after discussing the merits amongst ourselves between three artists who depicted the same trail in their own approaches: linograph vs photograph vs watercolor. We also purchased some crocheted plushies and a magnet, and my better half talked me out of a piece of enhanced folded book art. To respect the no photography policy of many of the artists, I'll just note that the website's artist portfolio just represents a drop in the bucket of what you'll find. We'll definitely stop in again for more unique wares whenever we pass through the area.

When I was researching things to do in Ithaca I stumbled upon a placed called "Gourdlandia". A…read moreplace dedicated to gourds? I had to check it out and I'm so glad I did. Not too far from town, a bit off the beaten path is Gourdlandia. When I arrived, there were some people weeding in the garden including the owner who warmly greeted us and showed us around the garden explaining the process the gourds go through in order to use them to make artwork. Afterwards we went into the shop and there were beautiful crafted lamps and other items for purchase. I bought a super cute nightlight that I can't wait to use!

The Herbert F Johnson Museum of Art on the campus of Cornell University is a great attraction to…read morespend a few hours while in Ithaca. Admission is always free, but you do have to pay for parking on weekdays. The building itself is designed by IM Pei and is meant to let visitors experience art and also view the natural surroundings, as there's several floors from which you can get great views of Cayuga Lake and the Cornell University campus. While it doesn't compare to world class art museums, it's perfect for a college/university art museum with a diverse collection of paintings and ancient artifacts. The lobby is a wonderful gathering place with plenty of space to sit and open windows to admire the views. It's the perfect way to kill some time, so recommend a visit to art lovers visiting Cornell University or those needing a rainy day activity while visiting Ithaca.
