Kelly Green responded very quickly to our request for an irrigation system shortly before moving in to our new home. They were prompt in all aspects and installed in a timely fashion to provide needed irrigation for our new sod during a hot spell. The grass is coming in extremely healthy under Kelly's irrigation product and plan. All have been informative and helpful, from the owners, to lawn staff to schedulers. It has been a great value. Regretfully, I am posting a less-than-positive review for Kelly Green. I regret this because for four years I received good service from friendly employees. When KG's service people (there were two) came to turn on my system in May, they discovered that control box did not work. They showed me the typed of box they recommended and told me I could buy one myself and they could come back, install it, and start my system. Great! But, then not so great. I called KG on 5/23 after receiving a bill for the Spring Start-up. Since the system wasn't started, I called to question the bill. The rep needed to check with her supervisor. Fine. But, since I didn't hear anything, I called back on 6/1 and was told I should disregard the bill. Ok! I wasn't told that there was still a travel fee, which I would have understood. I was just told to ignore it. Luckily, I thought to CONFIRM during the call if KG WOULD install a box that I bought. Again, I was told that a supervisor needed to be consulted. That sounded odd to me because I was told by the service people who visited my house that I COULD buy one and KG would install it. But, the phone rep was pleasant and she'd call me back. Again, I didn't hear from her. So, I called today and was told that I was no longer their customer. WHAT? According to the phone rep, the service people gave me false information because - and this is her words "They are Hispanic." Yes, they were Hispanic, but the young man who appeared to be the lead on the job communicated beautifully with me. Perhaps he did not know the company's policy that KG won't install control boxes that they did not sell. I am not blaming him. I don't want him to be in trouble with KG. He was very pleasant. I just have a hard time understanding why I am being fired as a client. The phone rep could have just apologized and explained nicely that I was given misinformation. Last year I would have rated KG as 5 star. Is KG looking for reasons to stop servicing small properties or ones in the city? I don't know, but I feel as though I was treated unfairly. read more

Great company. Highly recommended. They returned my request for quote on the same day. Duggan (sales person) spent a ton of time walking me through the options and their recommended coverage plan. During the pre-purchase phase there was no pressure to buy. All the options and upgrades were clearly explained with the pros and cons. I appreciated Duggan's honesty and true consultative approach. Install was fast and efficient. Once my sod was installed one of their techs came out to make sure everything was working correctly and that the heads were aligned. Very happy with my purchase and looking forward to using Kelly Green Irrigation for future maintenance. read more

Kelly green installed my irrigation system in 2007 or so. I moved in in 2009 and found kelly green stickers on my control box. I used kelly green for a couple years after that for service, winterization etc. A couple weeks ago a house was finished being built next door to me. Electric company was running wire from the utility box in my yard to the house and cut through an irrigation line. They pulled about 6 feet of line out and a sprinkler head and threw it in my yard. I thought I had a problem to work out with the electric company until I checked where the GIS map and lot lines where located from the survey completed weeks earlier and realized that my irrigation line was 5 feet out of my yard. I called kelly green today, told them what happened and mentioned they installed the system and that it was cut by a utilities crew. I also mentioned that the water line was 5 feet outside of my lot line. I wasn't blaming them just hoping maybe they would at least say "hey we may have messed it up, I'll give ya a little break on the repair" or "Ill be there right away". Lady that took the call said that one of the installers/repair guys would call me back shortly to get more details about the job and see how much work it may be to fix. 30 minutes later the same lady calls me back and says my house is no longer in their service area. Really? My house is 17 miles from your business address? Are you sure it isn't because your company installed an irrigation system 5 feet into my neighbors yard and don't want to do a free/discounted repair with a possibly upset/disappointed customer???? Not saying that is 100% the situation, maybe the company only works in areas within walking distance of the office? Plenty of other companies willing to take my money and willing to drive more than 17 miles to take it. read more

They were able to blowout my irrigation system with short notice as I was struggling to get another company to complete the job. They gave me a 4 hour window and came within that window. They were professional and prompt. read more

I've been using Kelly Green Irrigation for over 10 years. Dugan came out, was professional, helped me get my very large system under control. Service to date has been excellent. I followed up this year to confirm when my winterization was taking place and was told I wasn't scheduled - odd as I recall calling earlier in the season and scheduling it for earlier rather than later like I usually do. I was put on the schedule for the end of October which I wasn't super comfortable with. So I decided to consult with other companies to get "blow out" prices out of curiosity. I called my neighbor's Waconia based company, described my system of 22 zones and asked for a quote. It was 1/2 of what I've been paying. I called back Kelly Irrigation and talked with Deb. I asked her if she would find out why I'm paying so much. I also asked if she could still get me on the schedule as the other company said my controller wasn't working. She said she would get back to me. I immediately received a call from a man named John. He started off the conversation being rude, combative and tried shaming me for my lack of loyalty. He made broad assumptions that my request for pricing clarification was based on me thinking they were price gouging. He proceeded to talk over me and told me he was "offended" by my lack of loyalty to he and his employees. I explained I was looking for clarification on the price discrepancy which had nothing to do with loyalty - just clarification. He then proceeded to tell me what a hassle it was going to be to try and get me back on the schedule. At this point, I felt he was so rude I didn't want to continue talking or doing business with him and we parted ways. Bottom line - deal with anyone in the company other than John. With people like that working in this company - he will run clients off. read more

We hired Kelly Green Irrigation at the start of summer to open up our sprinkler system and shut it down. They have a slight problem with their voicemail processing for the fact we called twice and left 2 voicemails so we could take advantage of their end of the season shut down discount and never received calls back and when we FINALLY got ahold of them they wouldn't honor it the week after. We explained very nicely we did leave 2 voicemails with no return call back...... We have no attachment to this company, and we are needing next year to replace our whole panel which will be hundreds of dollars according to their maintenance guy, guess they won't be getting our business being there are tons of other companies to pick from. read more

We have been customers of Kelly Green back when their father Jack was running the company and the boys were working for him. They have been nothing short of responsive, efficient, professional and efficient. We have turned over all of the opening/closing of a lake system and have never had any issue. They have quickly identified when new heads or a pump is necessary, and make the necessary repairs and we don't miss a beat. I recommend their services completely. The negative reviews about their service have never been my experience over the past 25 years. read more

I've had Kelly Green irrigation install my pump and irrigation system and winterized the system since they installed it. Fired it up last spring only to find it had a cracked housing...must have had water left in the pump. Unfortunately, there are no warranties to cover their services. I won't be calling again. read more
