What a great place for the kids in the summer! My daughter has been attending this camp for 3 years…read morenow and looks forward to getting up every morning. From the time with other kids, the all camp games, the chance to select the events they do during the day and the opportunity to get into the lake all the time makes this a place all kids should look into. The family feel is great for the kids. The bible moments bring value to each day and don't take away from the friendships and the fun. The staff are great and really take great care of the kids as well as make the parents feel like a part of the program. The overnights are offered at the end of some weeks and my daughter wouldn't miss them. The weeks without an overnight are filled with a Family Fun Night and all parents should make the effort to get to the camp and have fun with your children. My daughter will attend this camp until she is too old and then she will start to give back and work at the camp as she already is looking forward to being a councilor and working at the camp.

We are a third generation Camp Firwood and The Firs Day Camp family. It's wonderful to have such a fun-filled environment in a beautiful setting on Lake Whatcom. The Christian values and Biblical stories that are shared in a modern setting of fun and love make it that much more than "just a camp."

The horses turned out in runs and pastures all looked well fed and cared for. They have an impressive Extreme Trail Course built outside, see pictures -- this is not open to the public to ride or walk through, which is understandable as it looks like they want to keep everything nice for competitions. There is a huge outdoor ring (maybe 100x200?) with sand/small rock footing -- nothing that I would jump in, but it works for flatting well enough, and they had a bunch of de-spooking obstacles set up at the time that were interesting. They allow haul-ins I believe for $20 per horse/rider combo, which is very reasonable considering how nice the facility is and that you are allowed to use their obstacles. There is an indoor arena also, but we only used the outdoor so I don't know if haul-ins are allowed to use it or not.

The owner, Cindy, took him from me to demonstrate and beat on him On the neck and face with a whip. He was terrified and was trying to back away and escape from her but she wouldn't have it. She just kept hitting him. I asked her to stop and she told me she had to show him who's boss. If you believe that you should train a horse with physical pain, this is your place. Otherwise, avoided like the plague.

They asked if we had any questions or needed help. Since we did not, they just let us do our thing. I liked that. It gets intimidating having people always watching you or floating around if you do not want it. We did see them answering questions and helping people who requested it, so if you are nervous or in need of assistance they will happily help you out. There were also life jackets, wet suits, and even dry bags available for rental in addition to the equipment (canoes, paddle boards, sail boats). You reserve a slot and off you go to launch from their nice ramp, which is also open to the public. I definitely recommend wearing flip flops or water shoes. I am not from the area, so did not know what to expect. It was a bit rocky in some areas so I was glad to not be launching barefoot. The staff we had that day were fantastic. They were very nice and many of them very experienced and helpful. My friend told me they were also all volunteers. They do have a tip jar for their assistance though, so be sure to bring some cash to support them! All around great experience and I highly recommend if you are in the area looking for something fun to do!

Yooooo! First: Book online and FILL OUT THE ONLINE WAVERS…read morebefore entering the park. If you forget to fill out the wavers, as you enter the amusement park parking lot, on poles are QR codes that take you right to the online wavers. Don't be THAT person. Do what you are supposed to do. This place is about the size of the parking lot. It's perfect! To all those folks who can't go on rollercoasters and get made fun of because of some sort of anxiety, this is your place! Only one fast body water slide that I did not go on. That being said, there are 7 slides. 2 of the 7 are inner tube slides. The rest are body slides. There's also a pool, small hot tub, shop and place where you can buy food (don't bring your cooler or any outside food). Drinks are free all day! Male and Female changing and bathrooms are easily accessible. In-between those areas are the small, medium and large lockers if you need them. Find yourself an Adirondack chair and have a great time at this little gem of an amusement park. As we were there, they were putting up their 40th Anniversary signs. Happy Anniversary!
