The collection of Trolls is enormous and, as we were told, continues to grow and grow and grow. Our tour guide had some great information, fun facts, history and answers to all our questions. We started upstairs and the themed rooms (and fun) almost seem never ending. We saw Trolls of all shapes and sizes. All different mythologies and pop culture influences. From handmade to original myth to the newer versions. We left in awe of the massive scale of this collection. There's a gift shop with unique and rare finds of Trolls as well. From T-Shirts to beads, you can definitely find something to take home with you. Prices were fair for all the rarity of the items. There are a lot more pictures I could upload, but I refuse to rob you of the wonder and surprise that can only come from enjoying this collection, up close and with your own eyes. This is definitely a place we won't forget.

Now all I can think is, "What took us so long"! Kent, Ohio is a cute town, surrounding a beautiful University campus. It is a pleasure to drive through and very easy to navigate. We arrived at the museum this morning which is FREE on Sunday. A nice contemporary building on the campus. Easy to park, easy to enter, and easy to get around. Upon entering you are greeted by a friendly face at the reception desk that is more than happy to answer any questions and provide directions. It is layed out on the main and 2nd floors on both sides of the central hall. The exhibits are absolutely beautiful. They included clothing through the century, jewelry, glass & ceramics, and designs from the university fashion design department. As well as a fabulous exhibit by artist LeRoy Neiman. Everything is exceptionally beautiful. After you spend plenty of time exploring the museum you'll have no problem finding a nice place to relax, eat and have drinks in town. We had a marvelous time today and I'm confident you will too. Do yourself a favor and visit the "Kent State University Museum"... It's amazing.

The museum isn't big, but it has a very professional feel and includes a gift shop sells works made by students, and the building is very attractive and located right on campus. ANNUNCIATION IS CELEBRATING ITS 100TH ANNIVERSARY!…read more The Annunciation Greek Festival is in its 58th year and is hosted by Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Akron. As I was reviewing information regarding local activities, this festival popped up. We all know that when we hear "Greek Festival", it is akin to ringing a dinner bell. The festival was scheduled to open up at 11 am and we arrived shortly before to get the "lay of the land". The one thing I really appreciated about this event is that it was free and parking was on site. I have never attended a "free" festival so this was a very nice surprise. There were two dining options available, (inside with a buffet style option and outside in the tent with individual items offered). We chose to eat under the tent although we would love to have been in a more open and airy space. We were "early birds" so we moved through the line with ease. We purchased gyros, salad, fries and beverages. The gyro was one of the best I have EVER tasted. The meat was fresh, had great texture and was appropriately seasoned. Those fries were perfectly prepared as they were cooked with the skin on and lightly seasoned. The salad was used to dress the gyro. Perfect! Most importantly, it wasn't overly salted and did not have that heavily processed taste. It was heavenly and I would love to return for dinner when the entertainment will be on and popping! Today's festival does not end until 11pm so you still have plenty of time to enjoy some great food, entertainment, and shopping. Don't just sit there, get moving!!
