Whenever I feel out of alignment I come here, introduced a few years back from my dear, who sometimes comes here, it does the job, and is central (as in location) enough to get everything done, whether prior to work, or after. If you have been in some accident, and needing to get your body back to as normal as you can, one of the places to come is here. I hear many ICBC, WCB related cases, whether it's back related, or any injury, from wrist, to leg injuries, they don't just get you 'back on your feet' but also teach you exercise techniques to keep your body right. It's not cheap going to these sessions, $60 a pop, but health is not cheap, that probably translates to this nice office and depending on which office you get assigned to, the views are pretty spectacular. This office takes up half the floor of the building, and once you walk in, you sign in, pay then you go and 'warm-up' before Kelvin will see you. There is guidance here from his staff on exercises you need to do to relax the area your looking for treatment. If your in a rush, this place is not for you, plan accordingly, as you could be here upwards to 1.5 hours, my normal procedures are a bunch of stretches and exercises that are prescribed from Kelvin's staff then moving on to the right side of the office where Kelvin, himself, works his magic, and it can be cruel and painful, if you hear screams coming from the room... let me just say it is normal! I can say Kelvin's techniques are a little medievil, but they work, from him making you lie on a table, where you eventually fall asleep, and out of nowhere he will pull, tug, put something back in place with a deep massage like an assassin sneaking in the bushes. For those scared of pain, well, here's what I have to say to you, it may hurt in the short run, but you will be corrected in your problems in the long run. Some may come out seeing that it is a waste of time, but if you go often enough it trains you to do your stretches at home, conditions you to take care of yourself and dodge Kelvin's 'killing' techniques, but as all human's are, how lest we learn, and in some ways Kelvin has a lot of fun with his patients, knowing their names and always asking for how they are feeling, and advising on progress. I'm still coming here every so often, he hasn't scared me off just yet. And as I said, the location is central, just good luck on finding parking, but just remember the Skytrain ain't too far. read more

Based on the reviews, you either love it or you hate it. I am in the latter group. I would give this place a zero if I could. Poorly organized and the wait time was excessive. Kelvin is a one man show. I think he's just spreading himself too thin so his turnover of patients is at its maximum. I'm used to one-on-one sessions with a physiotherapist for the full appointment time. I saw him running around, person to person, barely getting 3 minutes of attention. Five stars but big tip though... MAKE SURE you see Handry and not Kelvin. I've been to so many physiotherapists and looking back, I was never sure if physio worked or not. This one however is the first one that I can positively say that ... physio works! Ask for Handry. He is very good and knows exactly what he is doing. Seriously, he works miracles... He works you hard for sure but nothing better than going to someone who can pin point the cause and is creative in the exercises he gives you. Don't listen to the negative reviews. This is a great place and Kelvin knows what he's doing. It's a crazy busy place and it's a bit like an assembly line but it works. I had debilitating shoulder pain and frozen shoulder and after 3 treatments, it was much much better. I'm a big fan and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this clinic for physiotherapy. We go to physio with expectations of a few things, results and the typical physio clinic pampering. The pampering is not found here, this is a results driven place and the physio 'terrorist' as Kelvin calls himself, is not going to coddle his clientele. There are no two ways about it, his method hurts ALOT. He does generate results and it perhaps comes faster than usual, but this is at the cost of the pain. Another point... Kelvin is the only physio therapist here, and he sees multiple clients at one time. When i go to physio i expect one on one attention, and that is not offered here. Kelvin will put you in a room and ask you to lay there, then leave you for up to 30 minutes while he visits his other patients. Although i have gotten results from this clinic, i have decided to no longer see kelvin because of the lack of communication. With matters of my health, i want to be kept in the loop. I am so disappointed and sad that after 10 years of seeing him and being dependent on his elbow and leg pulling, I am leaving. This is not only because I am caught in this endless cycle and that he uses fear to keep you hooked, but because in this past year he has been making sex jokes that became more and more crass until it is no joke. While treating me face up and on my thigh he said, "I make women bleed." I said that was disgusting and he kept on joking. I don't need someone making kissing sounds at me and asking me to be their girlfriend during a body treatment. He also rapped me on the head as a joke but that is my personal space. Shame on you Kelvin. And forget how he yells at his female staff, makes you wait over an hour for a 2 minute treatment and does not even discuss my condition or progress- just makes sex jokes and talks about when he will retire. Kelvin is really good at what he does. I've tried several physiotherapists, and he's the one that's done the most for my injuries. The others have recommended exercises/stretches/etc (to bring home), and each visit had been rehabilitation without fixing the problem. I had a bad ankle injury 5 years ago, and have spent over $2000 seeing others. They gave me exercises that had helped it temporarily. Since I saw Kelvin a year ago, it has been fixed! He's helped me since with several other issues (elbow pains and knee/leg/hip pains). It's right, you don't get more than 5-10 minutes with him. He's a very busy man, because there's not many that does what he does. He's high in demand there. Kelvin has a very fascinating sense of humor. This is part of his personality, and for those that understand it, it's quite funny. He's keeping the very busy and hectic work environment interesting and entertaining for his patients and staff. On an end note, ensure you do all exercises recommended by his Kinesiologists. They will help you heal faster, and regain your strength after his adjustments. This is part of the treatment. I have had a hard time writing this review because I am pain free after 9 sessions, but I wouldn't recommend him. Pros: I had years and years of back pain and knee pain that would impact my sleep and physical ability. He caught a leg issue that 8 years of other physios had yet to diagnose. After 9 sessions with him in the span of 5 weeks, I am fully back pain free. Turns out most of my pain was due to being out of alignment because one leg is longer than the other. A $5 foam heal lift in my shoe solved 99% of my issue. Kelvin also was great at releasing pain in my knees and legs. His methods are hands on and hurt in the moment, but would free up my knees from seizing/locking and would release my hip pain. Cons: Kelvin's sense of humour is hypersexual, salacious, crude, lewd, and borderline harassing. I tried to brush the comments off since he was so effective at fixing my health issues, until we had a strange incident. Kelvin would make kissing sounds, slurping sounds, and talk about my body in a totally unprofessional way that would make me incredibly uncomfortable. If you say anything, he just says hes joking and that he has a wife. He made jokes about being my boyfriend and how he hoped my husband wouldn't get jealous about him touching me. At one point, he yelled across a full clinic with at least 15 people between him and I, "Don't have any husband time tonight" and when I looked confused he just yelled "Sex!"... He did make the same jokes to his male patients... but it is still degrading and is done incredibly publicly. I had previously not felt physically threatened by him, which is why I was able to brush the comments off as "harmless". However, we did have one incident that broke my trust in his treatments and caused me to leave his clinic. I came in for a regular maintenance session with no new complaints of pain. Without consulting with me, he came into the treatment room with a form to sign that would give him consent to touch high up on my groin/pubic area. When I asked if this was necessary and why it was needed now after the previous treatments were effective, he didn't give a full explanation and suddenly decided I didn't need it and he could do the normal treatment (near my knee). It was really weird and I never did figure out if this was a legitimate treatment for me or if there was something shadier going on. If he wasn't so salacious at all times, I wouldn't have questioned this treatment. However, the onslaught of sexual comments each session made me doubt whether I should trust him to be medically professional. I stopped seeing him after this. No one should have to put up with lecherous comments in order to be treated. However, if this doesn't bother you, I do think he has talent as a physiotherapist. I hope he takes these reviews seriously and that he takes a more professional stance with his patients. He could help a lot of people if he didn't alienate and sexualize his patients. read more

I really had problems with my left foot. For more than a month, I was limping. At first, just the odd time but gradually the limp increased and with pain. A friend recommended Kelvin to me but mentioned to me to expect great pain. Well, about ten days ago I made an appointment to see him and immediately from his practiced, he diagnosed my problem. It was definitely my back but my left ankle was out of joint so he twisted it with a snap and I had instant relieve but didn't last long. The second session I was given a series of exercises by his helper followed by another twist to my right leg (it was to balance my feet) . On the last session he worked on my spine and I practically screamed in pain. The next day, my limp and pain were gone. This Kelvin knows what he is doing and he is good. Really good. After seeing a handful of physios, you really learn to differentiate those who genuinely want to help you & those who want to help their business. Kelvin is unfortunately categorized by the later. I visited Kelvin's clinic for 3 weeks on a coworker's recommendation & grew thoroughly unimpressed with each treatment. The first 45 - 60 min of treatment are spent doing self-directed exercises that could just as easily be done on your own time. Kelvin is nowhere to be seen during this so almost no feedback/direction is given. Following that, Kelvin would then spend anywhere from 2 - 5 minutes with me for each session - a pitiful amount of attention. I would have felt this time wasn't completely wasted had I actually received some constructive advice/direction. It wasn't until my 3rd session (after I had to ask) that he told me what I should/shouldn't be doing between treatments, stretches/exercises I should do, etc. You get the sense he just wants you out of there as quickly as possible. The bulk of my scant few minute spent with Kelvin involved him doing cheap used car sales-type tactics to make me think he was actually doing something. I don't doubt that some people may see positive results seeing Kelvin, but I also feel any recovery could just as easily be accomplished doing exercises at home. For better results, service & attention, I would go elsewhere. read more

The thing I like most about Kelvin's is the exercise program he offers before he adjust me and the program he has set up for me has strengthened me tremendously. The waits are long due to the exercise program. Kelvin is a talented therapist and uses very interesting techniques which I have never seen before.. and they work... I was seeing a chiropractor for $40 a shot .. he twisted my neck and my body.. at Kelvin's I get a supervised exercise program.. it;s like having a one to one session with a trainer and then I see Kelvin. read more

It's too bad some people judge Kelvin's amazing ability to put you back in good form by the amount of time he spends with you. He'll spend the amount of time with you that you need, not what you want. He doesn't need to spend lots of time with you because he puts you back, releases the spasm and that's it, what more do you need? He doesn't do what you want but what you need and most people are not aware of what they need and then think they are not being treated properly. Kelvin developed his own technique and he is the only one who has ever been able to help me. No one comes more highly recommended than Kelvin but remember the crux of responsibility in becoming stable physically lies with you and not Kelvin. He can only do so much, then you must exercise to keep up his work. If you want to be healed then see Kelvin and do NOT judge him by the amount of time he spends with you. Also, he has staff that is supposed to help with exercise as he can't be in two places at once. Be realistic. read more

I worked with least 15 rehab professionals over a 1.5 year period following a serious injury. I was on the brink of giving up in despair when someone begged me to at least try seeing Kelvin. I finally relented, and thank goodness I did. Kelvin was the first who actually was able to help me recover function. Gradually, over time, I improved more than I had even thought possible. He is quirky and extremely unconventional, so you need to know what you are getting yourself into. The treatments may be very painful (but note that if you are very explicit about your tolerance - and insist - he will scale back his treatment) - but they really work. Also note they aren't necessarily painful for everyone. But he is not shy to do what needs doing. He doesn't want to waste his time or yours - so I can understand how some people might not like this absence of time/attention/pampering as some other reviewers have complained is absent from the experience. These are fair complaints, but to be clear: if it weren't for him, I would likely still be bed ridden. Not only that, but I have thoroughly interrogated him regarding the rationale and theory (including anatomy and physiology) behind what he is doing - and his breadth of knowledge is literally unparalleled among rehab professionals that I have worked with or known professionally. His method is not for every one but if you are looking for results and pain free life and have an open mind see Kelvin. I consider myself lucky and very fortunate to be able to find some one like Kelvin in Canada. He is not only very well trained he is not afraid to run his practice the way that won't be tolerated by most Canadian patients. This is why every review that complains about waiting time and one on one attention makes me lough. For over a year I've been seeing a one on one nice therapist, who did listen but with zero result. Lets face it some people don't want to get better they would rather complain about being sick and in pain. For those who are looking for real results and willing to work and listen to instructions he is the guy. Kelvin was a breath of fresh air from the start. It did take me over a month with 2 visits per week and a lot of painful moment with him ( and it was real PAINFUL) but I can live pain free now. I will continue to work with one of his Kinesiologysts for another 2 month and if I will ever need attention he will be my go to physiotherapist. He promised me that I will live pain free and it is possible and he delivered. I can't thank him enough for giving me my mobility back and life without pain. Kelvin is a very talented and friendly physio thats why he is so busy and running all over the place in his office and the wait is so long, for the short time Kelvin worked on me (about 5 min.) I could see he knows what he is doing, but after a 2 minutes session he ran to the next clients then came back 10 minutes later for a 3 min. session then that was it. Maybe he is the victim of is own success, I been refered to Kelvin from a friend that went to him a few years ago she said it was 30$ a visit not anymore now its double that and the time spent on clients is shorter by comparing both our sessions, if my visit would have been 30$ I would be satisfied with the 5 min. session but making 12$ an hour at my job I have trouble spending 60$ for 5 min. of work. read more

Unfortunately this is a run-of-the-mill type physiotherapy clinic. They make you line up and go through their standard "treatments" and don't really care about you as a patient. You're a number, or a dollar sign. Worst thing is that the main physiotherapist, Kelvin, is a delusional sadist who used scare tactic to hook you into their service, and then he take joy in inflicting pain on you. What a rip off that place is, you sit in a room full of people then wait for Kelvin to come do some therapy on you for about a minute then he is off again to work on another patient I was there an hour and only got about 3 minutes of therapy the rest of the time I was just sitting there, I can see why so many people love the place Kelvin keeps making jokes and everybody has a laugh for many it's a big social gathering so if you want a laugh and need a place to hang out this is the place for you but if you are in severe pain and even laughing hurts if you desperately need relief of your pain, then this place is definitely not for you, I actually felt worst after my probably from irritation from sitting there for so long waiting for Kelvin to relieve my pain. read more

I saw Kelvin approximately 6 times before he declared that he had fixed my back. It didn't feel any better than the first time I had seen him. I ended up having my back surgically fixed a few months later. There was no way Kelvin was going to fix my back using his adjustments, electrical stimulator and exercises, but not once did he mention that a cat scan or even xrays might be beneficial. I have to agree with the analogy that he is much like a used car sales man. He prances around his office and loudly proclaims leaving patients as healed, but the time he actually spends on you is less than 5 minutes. Over a year after my last session with him, I received an invoice from his office for $135, stating that my MSP did not subsidize my last few visits. When I asked to talk to the office manager regarding the matter, she did not return my phone call and sent the the debt to a collector. read more
