After talking with some colleagues and friends to find out who they used as their financial planner, Garrett Vanneman came up a few times so I thought I'd give them a call. I'm really happy with my decision of choosing a smaller firm instead of one of the larger companies. I work directly with Garrett, who grew up in Roseville. He's also a Certified Financial Planner, which I've read takes passing a very difficult test to get the certification. He took the time to listen to my goals and checked out my financial situation and was able to help me set up the correct life insurance policies and an IRA. One thing I really liked was Garrett was able to find me a less expensive insurance through my professional work organization then he was able to find on his own. And instead of pressuring me to buy one of his insurances, he told me the other would be a better deal. So I really appreciate his honesty and that he is looking out for me. Other things I really like about their office is they are really easy to get a hold of and they always call me back or email me right away whenever I have any questions. I emailed back and forth with Susan at his office who easily scheduled my Husband and I some time to meet with Ben that easily fit in with our schedule. Upon arriving at the office we immediately felt welcomed by Susan and their nice reception area. A few minutes later we met with Ben who answered all our questions about investing with ease, and made us feel confident in his abilities. My Husband and I don't have money by any stretch of the imagination, but Ben made us feel just as important as if we did. I let her know that I don't need a tax person this year, but I certainly will for next year and you better believe that she will be my go to person!! It seems to me that it's difficult to find someone sensible, I could actually understand what she was saying, who is helpful as well. I greatly appreciated her time. Will definitely be referring her and returning to actually give her my business.
