The worst customer service! Appalling is an understatement!…read more Never experienced such discrimination and harassment from hotel staff in my life. Had so many terrible experiences here over the years it's easy to say we'll make the extra drive to Moose Jaw spa. I had to convince my family to go again and was thoroughly disappointed!

The Water's Edge restaurant had a good selection, decent prices and quick service. Our room...we had booked a suite with kitchenette, and these are located across the street from the main lodge. We had been notified before our trip that there was a maintenance problem and the suite we booked was not available. They offered a different suite or the main hotel; we chose the other suite. That suite was not ready until over an hour after check-in time (but they had already given us the pool pass so we could go soak), and when it was ready, they had pictures of another maintenance problem. Once again, offered to move us into the main building. If they offer this repeatedly, there is a reason! We were okay with what they showed us, but there were several other quirks with the suite once we got settled: toilet squealed LOUDLY and for nearly 3 minutes after every flush, porch light fixture was damaged and dangling, and the bathroom fan was not functioning. Overall, the suite was clean, spacious and functional, just in need of some maintenance. Again, every person we dealt with was courteous, helpful and honest. The mineral pool is so relaxing and worth the trip. But stay in the main building until they upgrade the suites.

The front desk staff are friendly, professional and helpful. Check-in is easy and quick. Free parking on main level. The rooms are modern, full kitchen with a fridge/freezer and everything you need for a week+ stay. The king room shower has a sliding door, the queen room did not have a door at all, which is the only thing I disliked about this hotel. I was freezing everytime I showered. Their toiletries were Paul Mitchell which was a nice touch (but they weren't amazing products). Love the closet organizer with shelves, laundry basket and full length mirror! There's a small coffee brewer in the room and I loved the mounted swivel of the tv. The gym is basic, 1 sit-down bike, 2 treadmills, free weights (up to 50lbs), and one bench, no machines, no cables, no exercise ball, but a Brita hydration station and is open 24/7. The pool is small (when there's several ppl swimming) depth 1.2m. Quite cold and is open till 10pm. A step up from continental breakfast, but not a fan of the deli meat ham in the warm water!! All in all, a wonderful stay and have already returned since last visit.

Unfortunately, our last visit put a total damper on our visits there. We arrived at our usual time in anticipation of Happy Hour beer and wings - Thursday's is wing night. 10 wings for $3. We have reallly enjoyed ourselves in the past, but this evening was a definate downer. First, we missed Happy Hour by three minurtes. Rather than inform us that we were a few minutes early, she took our full price beer order. When we asked about the wings, we were informed that they're not on special till 7pm. Funny, last time we got Happy Hour beer and the wing night special at this time. We were going to order food from the kitchen, but the three minute thing really got to me. Instead of a few beer, we had the one we had ordered THREE minutes early. Decided against any food, and left. Probably won't be back. We have been talking the place up with our friends at the beach, but won't be doing that any more either. Three minutes put a damper on our whole evening. Maybe when someone is that close to Happy Hour they should inform BEFORE the order is placed. In the way home we stopped at the grocery store, bought some chicken and headed home. Poped a beer from the fridge and had our own wing night at home. I know I'm obcessed with the THREE minute thing, but for the sake of it the hotel lost the sale of food for two, more beers than the one we hastely drank and left, and repeat business. Not impressed!

I loved . . . -- The tiled floors (vs carpet), even though it might be a bit noisier for downstairs neighbors -- The glass enclosure of the walk-in shower -- The "doorbell" that is actually a doorbell, but also the do-no-disturb and housekeeping-please indicator -- The second sink outside the bathroom -- Lovely bedding and towels -- Loads of overhead lighting and nice bedside lights, too -- Cookies in the lobby -- TWO washers and dryers - clean and high-quality! -- Helpful staff, front counter to the dining area and housekeeping -- Ice machines on each floor -- The slide tube in the pool (although we just watched, didn't use) Not as crazy about . . . -- Upstairs neighbors' footfalls (couldn't they have built this NEW hotel with concrete floors??) -- The motion sensor light in the bathroom; I get the purpose, but who wants bright light in the middle of the night? -- The motion sensor on the thermostat; again, I get the purpose, but it got really hot during the night. Either provide standard bedding that isn't a fluffy duvet, say a cotton blanket, or let the AC stay on all night! -- Why is the microwave on the bottom shelf of the dresser / TV stand? Why not up a shelf so you don't have to get on hands and knees to use it? Go back to the I-loved list. Those are the great things about this place.

Two days in a row, during morning peak use my water in both sink and shower was cold. I had to shower cold twice. When I complained about it I was told it was only my suite and they would send a maintenance technician, and that this had never happened before. It was clear that this was a regular occurrence. Likely a design flaw in hotel construction, or a maintenance issue that needs to be resolved with the hot water system. After speaking with a staff member and grilling them on it, they confirmed this. This means: hotel staff were aware of the problem. It is ongoing. It hasn't been resolved. They continue bringing customers and giving them rooms on upper floors knowing they won't get hot water, and then when people complain staff play dumb. I highly recommend you avoid this badly run and dishonest establishment. I will be putting it on the black list for my company, who travel regularly to Saskatoon.
