I am new to Eastlake, only having been a few times, but I've seen enough…read more Eastlake Church is not a typical church, and apparently some reviewers hate it for that, but that's precisely the reason I found it so absorbed my attention and captivated my emotions. I believe that at its heart Eastlake is the quintessence of what the future of the church will be. Its a trailblazer that is opening up new avenues for the existential exploration that my millennial generation is desperately seeking. I've spent my whole life in theologically conservative churches (i.e. Assembly of God, Calvinist, etc). I was a minister so I have preached about radical and unconditional love, but it was always shrouded in hope for something in the future, not a place here and now. In Eastlake, I think I've found a place too. Everyone is welcome, regardless of their beliefs or non-beliefs. Personally I've moved outside the bounds of my religious and supernaturalist dogmas. I love science, reason, philosophy, evidence, etc but I also yearn for the sacredness of a participatory communal experience. Eastlake is that. The music blew me away with its profound lyrics, the people are friendly, there is awesome childcare (the childcare team is fantastic!), coffee/food, and plenty of comfortable seating. If you are looking for yet another copy/paste evangelical church, of course this is not it. There are dozens all around. But if you're looking for a place to explore spirituality without traditionalist dogma and without weird supernaturalist woo that would make a science-minded person like me flee, this is it. After parking, when I was going to get out of the car it sounded like someone was playing a loud car stereo in the parking lot. But when I got out, I realized the sound was coming out of the church. I went inside and could not go in the darkened stage-like sanctuary because it was too painfully loud. I thought that I might wait in the lobby (where it was still very loud) until the preaching started, but the music went on until 10:40 and at that point I decided that this church would not be a good place for me to attend because I would not be able to ever join the in worship part of the service. So I left. On the plus side, the greeters here are very friendly and the building and grounds are nice. This would probably make a nice church for those who are not concerned about receiving hearing damage.

I'm giving this review 5 stars, because I think they deliver a strong message, they are able to be…read moreno-nonsense and entertaining at the same time. My only issue is not something that makes these guys lose a star, but it is something personal. I have issues with vertigo and stuff, so the service can become overwhelming. However, I discovered that sitting instead of standing never gets me the stink-eye, and nobody has thrown a shoe at me, thus far; so, WINNER!! All goofiness aside, I believe the church does amazing things, and both Casey and his wife are groovy! One thing I absolutely LOVED was the fact that Pastor Treat used good, old-fashioned paper for his sermon notes, and he had them with him as he preached. I'm not sure why, but seeing that made me so very happy! In conclusion, the church is bright and shiny, the pastor energetic and uplifting. But, more importantly, everyone was so welcoming and kind! My kids were born, raised, and baptized at the Image Church. The feeling of community that the senior pastors managed to foster among the "members" is second to none. They lead by example, with grace, and an open home. They invest into people generously without expecting anything in return. Although every ministry is operating with excellence, my favorite ministry is the Image KidZ ministry. My kids have never once asked to skip any event. From weekly Sunday services, to occasional movie nights, community events, camps, bake sales and holiday parties, my kids have cleared their schedules and mine to attend. And you know how you know if it's good? When your kids are too old to participate and still sign up to volunteer. You will find your community. You will find a family, even if you've never had one. You will find shoulders to cry on and stand on. You will find people to celebrate you, challenge you, and walk alongside your deepest valleys and highest mountains. No one claims to be perfect, far from it...the authenticity and vulnerability is yours to see and share, as you feel comfortable. But most importantly, Holy Spirit is here in the most real, precious, and powerful way. It is impossible not to see him in the genuine smiles and feel him in the warm embraces. I have matured and grown as a person, a friend, a child of God in this church family. But don't take my word for it. Come see for yourself and discover something you didn't know you were missing.

He rarely adds meaningful historical/archaeological references, analysis or current cultural comments of any depth. His emphasis is mostly about individuals' emotions. - A lot of focus is made on eating and playing more than doing individual and group evangelism, neighborhood prayer walks and door knocks, and labor to serve the poor, elderly, and sick, whether saved or unsaved. (Unless it's asking to give your financial earnings.) - NOTE: Elders/deacons are not on their site? Who are they? I asked some members and they had no idea.

But you can do what I did when I first started attending in 2021; Every time I heard 'God' I thought 'Love' and I promise you.... With that context, every sermon really started to make sense. When I walk through those doors each Sunday, I flush the pain of a past week. I forgive the humans who are doing their best, in an imperfect world and I feel lighter. I feel happier, hopeful and restored. This is a Church for real people, meaning the imperfect , the unsure, the lost AND the found: which is all of us. Whether you find yourself near or far from God, Pastor Nick, his wife Krissa and the fantastic worship team at Gold Creek will lead you in a more fulfilling direction without judgement, condemnation or all the other 'weight' that is traditionally associated with strong Faith. Come for the coffee and fellowship, leave with the gift of hope and faith in humanity. And if you want to go deeper, there are so many 'connect groups' on weeknights; from Grief Share, Divorce Care, Alpha (?'s), Marriage and Money groups. Childcare is provided. So please....
