He listens to his patients, offers common sense advice and surely knows the range of ailments, medications and treatments needed for any urological issues. I have referred numerous friends to him, including several women, who sing his praises. If you're a man reading this review and of a certain age, you should be aware of the need for periodic PSA tests, as well as digital exams of your prostate. Don't ignore this, you don't want to be diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer which could have been avoided by discovering earlier as a result of a PSA test or digital exam. Many men experience issues of urine flow (force, frequency, duration) as they age, it's nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about, it's something to discuss with a urologist and Silverstein will make you at ease to do so. And of course, there are many medicines to address these issues as well as any other erectile dysfunction issues. Silverstein's practice is part of Boca Care, physicians on staff and employed by Boca Raton Regional Hospital. All insurances accepted by the hospital would also be accepted by his practice. The office staff are efficient and there is also a PA as part of the practice. So, do yourself a favor and add a urologist to your list of specialists if you are having any issues or simply as part of your well care if you're a mature man.

Three months ago I called Dr. Manganiotis' office to schedule a new patient appointment because of…read morea kidney stone in one of my kidneys, that resulted in a visit to the ER and subsequent hospital stay, in late March, 2020. The appointment was set for Friday, April 17, 2020. In the beginning of the week of April 12th, I called the office to ask about my appointment on Friday and I was told that at that point, they could not tell me if the appointment was confirmed or not, that is, after 3 months waiting for the appointment. I thought it was odd that they didn't have the courtesy of calling me to let me know. On April 16th, since I had not heard from them, I called the office to try to re-schedule the appointment anyways, due to the covid-19 pandemic. An office staffer, Camille, answered my call and proceeded to ask me about the reason for the appointment. I explained that I had been diagnosed with a kidney stone and that I needed to have it removed. She then tells me, that my appointment was done in error because the ultrasound technician was not available on Fridays. She then offered to re-schedule to a later date, in the middle of the Afternoon, to which I said I couldn't do because I live in Boca Raton but work in Plantation, and have to go to work in the Morning, come to Boca Raton in the middle of the Afternoon, and then drive back to Plantation and then back home. It was just not feasible for me. Obviously I said no to her "offer". After asking me to wait on the phone, she comes back about 10 minutes later, and asks me again the same question and to "think about it", to which I said, there is nothing to think about and that I wasn't going to have the Afternoon appointment. However, when I tried to explain to her that I have a 8x5 mm kidney stone that was seen in a CT scan back in early January 2020, and then due to my ER visit, another CT scan confirmed the kidney stone was still there, and that I did not have to have a much less precise Ultrasound, she completely interrupted my explanation and threatened to hang up on me, which she did a few moments later. This lady, not only is complete insensitive to the needs of future patients, but she is also rude and unable to keep a civil conversation. Because she wasn't rescheduling my appointment, I decided to venture out of the house and go to my original appointment on Friday, so I called again to confirm the appointment. When I finally get to someone in the office, another person named Lynn, tells me that I had no appointments scheduled and that my name was not registered with their system. I said that was not possible and that I previously had talked to Camille and that she was rude to me by hanging up on my face. She then asks me to wait on the phone, and when she comes back, she tells me that "you don't have an appointment and that on your notes it says for me to look for another doctor". I immediately asked her if that was what the doctor said and she did not answer. Then, rude Lynn, the practice manager, tells me that I am an "argumentative patients" and that they, Lynn and Camille, don't want to see me there. That is just completely unacceptable and totally unprofessional of the two of them, Lynn and Camille. Not because I am a Doctor and demand respect, I think any human being should be treated with respect. These ladies are rude, incompetent, insensitive, and worst of all entitled, since they feel they can select or discard patients without the doctor's knowledge and without any medical training, they try to convince you what is best for you. I wonder how many patients Dr. Maganiotis is losing because of them. I moved to Florida from Texas and I must say what a difference. People in Texas, especially in the Health Care business, are professional, courteous, accommodating, and polite. Completely the opposite of what I found in Dr. Manganiotis practice, by talking to Camille and Lynn. It seems unfortunate, that these two unprepared, uneducated, and with no social skills individuals are not treating patients with respect and are making decisions for the doctor. I am sorry for the doctor, but if you don't want to be mistreated by the staff, avoid this practice at all cost.

I called 3 times. I never got any response from Dr. Barnes, and the third call to her receptionist was not friendly. Having received no response, I cancelled the procedure that she wanted to give me. In the few visits that I had with Dr. Barnes, she never had the same medical assistant or front desk employee. I do not recommend this female urologist who seems to have no compassion for a person with urinary problems. I read the reviews with that have one star. No patient should have similar complaints.

So, I was very concerned about finding a new Urologist here in South Florida. Well, I am so very happy I found Dr. Scarzella. She is amazing!! The first time I met her as a new patient I was so impressed. Dr. Scarzella was methodical in her process in getting to know me, and my urological history. She was very thorough, empathetic, thoughtful and caring while she took down the details of my health history. She did not rush the appointment and she answered all my questions and concerns. That is so important! In my experience, sometimes medical doctors can rush you through your appointment. I have left their offices feeling like the visit was unfinished or unsuccessful. That is NOT the case with Dr. Scarzella and her staff. I have been a patient for 3 years now and I couldn't imagine going to another Urologist. The staff office are equally as professional and caring! They make you feel special and well cared for every time! Anytime I call with questions or concerns someone always gets back to me that day. I honestly can't say enough about this Dr. and her amazing staff! The office is beautiful, extremely clean and that is also so welcoming. When I asked to speak to someone other than the lowly "answering service," I was told that there is NO way to speak to any of the clinical staff at her practice without first getting "vetted" by the incompetent "answering service!"
