However, when…read morerecently relocating from the west coast to the area I had the extreme pleasure of working with Lori Avra from Coldwell Bankers in Huntington, NY to find an apartment to rent. I'm from an area in which rentals are not mediated through realtors so this whole thing was new to me and I was somewhat reticent. I have a dog which further limits my options and wasn't able to fly out to view places. I cannot possibly say enough good things about Lori and they way in which she acted as my advocate and conducted herself in an extremely professional manner. I called other realtors in the area from several different brokers and despite having an outstanding rental history and credit was often meet with closed doors and told that finding a place that takes a dog would be impossible! Lori went to bat for me and found me a wonderful place and helped to facilitate the whole process. She is a genuine diamond in the rough and I would highly recommend that anyone looking for a realtor in the area talk to Lori... Do yourself a huge favor and call Lori... I know I will if I ever move again or buy in the area.

Many times he prefers calling because there are certain things he doesn't want in writing, just so he can deny them later. My boyfriend and I put an offer down for an apartment at lower than asking price. While we understand the seller have the right to accept our offer or no, the broker communicated with us that our offer was accepted. he continued to have open houses for the property. When we asked him what would happen if he got higher offers, he said that as long as we proceeded in good faith, we'd still be first in line. We hired a lawyer who spend a considerable number of hours doing diligence. When the contract was almost ready, the broker called us and told us that we either up or offer or we get dropped. Classic switch and bait! He could have told us the seller would like to consider other offers before accepting ours, instead of rushing to accept and then backing out, having us incur the legal fees. So this is a preview of what's expected of them if you work with them.

We wanted to see it one more time but unfortunately we couldn't as she only gave us one day to see it, which was at 2:00 on a work day, when most people, including myself and my wife, are working. She wouldnt be flexible, it was literally that day and time or nothing. So she was not only rude to my realtor but she was also condescending. She was trying to force us to buy the house in 48 hours. Im jewish and id rather buy my house from Hitler than with her. You can skip this sassy woman for a nicer realtor. Some people may think that the sassy woman additude is cute but it is not!
