However, when…read morerecently relocating from the west coast to the area I had the extreme pleasure of working with Lori Avra from Coldwell Bankers in Huntington, NY to find an apartment to rent. I'm from an area in which rentals are not mediated through realtors so this whole thing was new to me and I was somewhat reticent. I have a dog which further limits my options and wasn't able to fly out to view places. I cannot possibly say enough good things about Lori and they way in which she acted as my advocate and conducted herself in an extremely professional manner. I called other realtors in the area from several different brokers and despite having an outstanding rental history and credit was often meet with closed doors and told that finding a place that takes a dog would be impossible! Lori went to bat for me and found me a wonderful place and helped to facilitate the whole process. She wouldnt be flexible, it was literally that day and time or nothing. So she was not only rude to my realtor but she was also condescending. She was trying to force us to buy the house in 48 hours. Do not ise this company. Read the contract carefully. If and when they win they want their money…read moreupfront in 30 days while you wait for your refund gor AT LEAST 6 months for Suffolk County to send them your refund check. Then they distribute the check to you snd no one lnows how long that takes. If you do not pay them 55% upfront in 30 days you get a penalty of 75% of your check that goes to them plus 2.6% each month you didn't give them their money while you wait for your money. I called Suffolk County Comptroller's office and they said Aventine knows bery sell that it takes AT LEAST 6 months or more for your check yo go to them and after that who knows when you get your money from them.
