When having a destination wedding and a family from all over the world, we needed to have as much video coverage to show our loved ones far away. You hear so many horror stories on things going wrong and honestly I told myself if the cake falls or the dress rips its ok but if the photographer and videographer doesn't show up or the video footage gets lost, I will pass out. When I spoke with Jon from Sublime Wedding Films over the phone 11 months before the wedding, I felt at ease and knew his team would be my destination wedding videographer. I can tell he absolutely loves what he does. He is so patient, artistic, talented, a great listener and excellent with audio. I knew he was going to be the perfect videographer to capture my wedding. Jon and his colleague Austin captured everything we wanted plus more for our destination wedding at Cancun; the welcome party, wedding, and reception. To add to that Jon and Austin filmed our surprise first dance (Argentine Tango) and a cutting of the cake dance (Persian Tradition), which we secretly danced for 6 months. I loved how comfortable they made my husband and I feel being in my own skin especially when I was getting really nervous before the wedding ceremony. They captured everything in detail and whenever we look back at the videos we can proudly say it was all worth the practice and time. Jon and Austin were very professional and extremely polite to all the guests and the guest told us how they all loved how polite they were. Some videographers are oftentimes very bossy and pushy and tell people to do things they are not comfortable doing, however, Jon and Austin managed to get all the shots they needed, what my family wanted to share with our loved ones and the shots I requested. Jon's unique technique and attention to capturing priceless moments is a gift from God. Perfection. The day after the wedding we did an underwater trash the dress shoot in a cenote (water cave) it was raining really hard and pretty cloudy. Jon and Austin were confident and amazing in planning out the film logistics of the site, scanning the environment and executing a shooting plan. Jon helped my fiancé (now husband lol) learn how to pose naturally and be himself and not look to "staged." They came well prepared and our underwater session was a blast. After the wedding Jon and I kept in touch and followed up with me on the progress of the videos. He worked diligently on getting all of my videos edited and put on CD and uploaded online for my family to see from overseas. He went above and beyond to get my videos complete for my parents as a surprise gift for New Years. The videos were flawless. My shock in how perfect the videos came out as well as the albums was more than I could have ever imagined. Today Will and George brought our purchases and got them planted for us. We were given tips for caring for them and the young trees were staked. We were given a price before all this work began and the folks at Hillview Garden and Floral were professional and prompt to get the job done. Many other photographers seemed to focus on heavily posed shots, sometimes with harsh lighting or over-the-top editing (or no editing to clean up washed out or over-blown night-time shots). Carrie's portfolio shows that she can capture genuine moments, the kinds of photos my fiancé and I both love best, though she clearly does an excellent job of capturing traditional group shots as well. She works incredibly well in natural light and I know recently invested in a camera that will allow for even better photographs in low light. Carrie's personality also made her the clear choice for us. She is easy going without being passive. I saw Carrie in action at another event recently and was impressed by how easily she interacted with attendees of all ages. They get one star for actually delivering and picking up the chairs…read more Lost River Cave requires events to use this vendor for tables and chairs. Which makes me think this is why the customer service is lacking. They do not actually have to TRY to get or keep business. They know you have no other option. Also they charge $50 for delivery even though the reason you are required to use them is so Lost River Cave can "transition between other events easily", so why are we paying for delivery if you plan to use them for another event?? -1 star I first contacted them several months prior to my wedding because according to my Knot checklist that is what I was suppose to do. I was told to call back closer to time. When I called back he said he may not have any tables or chairs available. So there goes another, -1 star. They only provide ONE chair type. -1 star for pathetic selection. After back and forth phone calls (they really need to get with the times; it's called email and a website, learn how to respond quickly and present yourselves online; it's 2015!!), we finally catch each other on the phone (because I had to stop working to take his call, again with EMAIL, much faster and you also need written records with these people because they will not give you a receipt or contract, see below) and he tells me he HAS chairs and tables and needs a deposit. In order to secure my items I pay deposit by credit card over the phone (side note: I had fraudulent charges on my card within days of this transaction, not sure if it was them or because they didn't properly shred my card # after use but what a coincidence), he says he will send a receipt and contract as soon as possible. Over a week goes by and I get no receipt and no contract. So here I have paid a complete stranger whom I have never met $500 and have no proof of what I am getting. I keep calling, texting and emailing, nothing. So I contact the cave and Poof! I get responses from BG Tent immediately. But do I get the receipt still? no! They just called to say they WILL send it. I get it a few days later, just an email from his wife, no official receipt or contract. -2 stars for lack of convenience and customer service. So already we are 0 stars. Let's see how low we can go!! Oh also I asked for square tables, receipt said round. -1 star for not paying attention. I called this out to them, still no response updating the "email/receipt". I keep asking for dates that they need a final number of guests by, all of my other vendors gave dates for amounts that were due and final guest count by such n' such date. I don't know why they wouldn't do the same. I extended the courtesy of even asking and they never responded, of course. I give them the final guest count and sent the final amount owed (never got an updated email/receipt showing that I paid in full or that they had received payment) I asked if they got the check, no response. From this point on my wedding planner begins speaking with them. He changes the number of chairs to a lesser amount and orders some nicer chairs from somebody else for the reserved seating area. This was unknown to me, BG tent rental nor my wedding planner made me aware of this. BG tent rental should of notified me and refunded my money. When I sent an email asking for refund, they responded immediately (for once, of course it's when I'm asking for my money back) and they say NO!!! Really?! If you don't provide contracts stating dates that final amounts are due, or that a final amount is final and no amount can be refunded then you have no right to deny a refund. Your poor business skills are not my problem. They probably could of saved themselves from a bad review and made things right for the trouble they put me through by returning a measly $30 bucks but I guess it's good that people know. Not that it matters since you HAVE to use these people. I hope LRC sees this and changes that.
