This is a terrific spot for enjoying the lake in a hot summer's day…read more The water is crystal clear (except in the swimming area where all the dirt has been kicked up). - There are several campgrounds. - There is a picnic area with grass and space to throw a football. - There is a beach area (gravel type) for swimming. - There is a boat launch and parking for around 8-10 trucks and trailers. - There is a dock. - There is limited parking AND IT DOES FILL UP. On those hot summer weekends, expect there to be a full parking lot and the possibility of waiting for a spot to park. - There is a camp host that walks around and checks the cars for the fee receipts. Make sure to pay or have your state parks decal displayed.

She was a wealth of knowledge and such a fun person to spend the day with. Everywhere we went, she seemed to know everything. She interspersed personal anecdotes allowing us to get to know her better and to understand more about the area. Everything was included in the price of the tour. Lunch (of your choice - not just preset options), a beer at the brewery, and admission to the nature center were all taken care of. There were also snacks and water available in the van. We got lucky with a small group (4 people including us!), but the van only holds 13 people - much better than the giant coach busses! The price was right and the lady I talked to on the phone was really nice. We set up a time for our excursion. I was running a little bit late and let them know. They dropped off the kayaks at the drop off area. Which is about a quarter of a mile to the shoreline. These two 5'4" ladies had to attempt to drag the kayaks all the way down to the shoreline. The best part is the return., A family from Texas helped us get the kayaks to the pick up place. And the guy who met us to pick up the kayaks didn't offer to help, watched us the entire time and told our friends to load up the kayaks in the back of his truck. Customer service poor although everything else was awesome

We ended up drove to Mirror Lake one hour earlier than 1 PM our appointment time but Chris was accommodating and delivered I will 2 double kayaks around noon and pick them up one hour later. We had a great time there. We saw another customer who were waiting for their equipment to be pick up the same time. We highly recommend Chris for any of your equipment rentals With very reasonable prices and excellent customer service.
