Man this place has some POP! Went to Le Claire while on a business trip and saw this place as we were driving by. Decided to stop in and check it out and I am glad we did. Open the door and BAM your nose is inundated with the smell of popcorn. You'd think you were about to see a movie! They have all different kinds of popcorn. I tried some carmel popcorn that they had for sample and it was fabulous. I bought a bag of peanut butter and jelly flavored popcorn and it was excellent. The lady that was working was very nice and went into many details on how they make the different flavors. If popcorn isn't your thing then check out the candies they have! Love this place! First came here when we were in town house hunting. The owner, Diane, is fantastic! Very personable and super friendly! Their popcorn flavors seem to be never ending and there is a flavor for everyone! They also have a full wall of bulk candies to choose from including several i haven't see since my childhood! Our favorite thing here is the steamer puffs! You have to get a bag when you stop in- be careful though- because once you start eating them you won't be able to stop! I have been coming to Kernel Cody's for years!! I come every year at Christmas time and buy a ton!! I ship it to friends and family all over. I was a little late one year and got phone calls as to when they would be getting their popcorn. Everyone looks forward to this popcorn. Absolutely love it!! First time to Le Claire today! They have a nice selection of candy. We bought two bags for each child. We also purchased shaved ice. The gal that made the shaved ice treat packed it just right and soaked it in extra juice just to be sure we'd have flavor till the end. She was wonderful! The other person there was the owner, I believe. He was real nice too. Overall, you've got to be sure to stop.
