We stopped in when everyone needed some cool down deliciousness- found it! This place hit the spot and then some. The place is cute, quaint and very efficient. The 4 ladies working on a Saturday afternoon got a huge number of folks in and out quick, all while getting as many samples as we wanted! They had something like 20 flavors, some classic, many creative and all delicious! Our family got a variety from a strawberry lemon sorbet to a goat milk roasted cherry ( the show stopper) and a honey lavender, and one classic cookies and cream. All were really good and at appropriate prices! The kids/single scoops were under $4. In Seattle, they're all $6-7 now. This is better! They've got pints and gallons to go, and an adjacent candy shop for all your old school sugar needs! Back to the goat milk roasted cherry - this was really good! Unique, but not weirdly so. A great location for a sweet treat! They have a huge variety of flavors, from classics to more unique parings. I opted to try mint chocolate chip and blueberry and loved them both. The ice cream itself is rich, creamy, and not overpoweringly sweet. Despite it being a busy weekend evening, shop staff worked hard to keep the line moving and were incredibly helpful, offering flavor samples to anyone unsure what to choose. Hit this place on a Tuesday night and tried the Goat Cheese with Roasted Cherry along with the Lavender Honeycomb. Such solid flavors. I tried a few others and they were all very solid. Truly exceptional ice cream with quality ingredients. The prices were also extremely reasonable. It's nice to not have to pay $7-9 for two scoops of ice cream. The brittle butter and red velvet are my top two, it even has real cake pieces in there. I was so stoked because I was able to get a piece of cake in each spoonful of ice cream. I came to Here's the Scoop earlier today, and love, love, loved it.The shop is small, but bright and clean. There are over a dozen really unique and compelling flavors. House made waffle cones are available. You can take pre-portioned pints home with you if you want. I got the goat cheese and cherry ice cream I've read so much about on Yelp. It was creamy and delicious and really lived up to the hype. Others in my party got coffee toffee and birthday cake and were equally pleased with their choices. Excellent ice cream and very friendly owner!!! Where else in the QCA can you find rice krispie treat and goat cheese with roasted cherries ice creams? They do buy local ingredients to make some of the ice creams and sorbets. You can also find home-made ice cream sandwiches, home-made hot fudge, and she also makes home-made soup in fall. I am generally not a huge fan of ice cream, but I think this is the best in the area, and I have become a regular customer! I think it tastes so good, I just want to eat it by itself and usually just buy a cone or a pint. But, the sundaes look quite good. We have been here about 7-8 times summer 2021 so far. The flavors are good especially the Lavender Honey. So the four stars are for the product. The service is not very friendly. It's great having a local ice cream shop in the East Village that's open during evening hours. Everything, including the waffle cones and bowls, is made on the premises. Was really excited to try this place until my 5 yr old needed to use the bathroom urgently as soon as we walked in. The girl working seemed indifferent to him needing to use the restroom and when I asked if there was a restroom he could possibly use she said no and was unconcerned. We went outside, walked right into Baked where they had a restroom he could use and decided to spend our money there. For being a new business I expected much better regard for customers and as far as bathrooms I would think we were not the first parents with young kids needing to use the restroom nor the last. We may come back to try Here's the Scoop but it is no longer a priority. I would give this place 1 star but I gave 2 because most of their ice cream is very delicious and the flavors are creative. However, it's the worst customer service in the quad cities. I have held off on giving this review for years because I want to support local but the way they treat their guests is really shocking. Typically teens who are dead in the eyes, who only come out from the back room when someone walks in. They make it clear your presence is annoying and is interrupting their down time. Their non-verbals and absolute rude demeanor (unhelpful does not cover it) at least ends in some good ice cream so people will push through. I can usually shrug their demeanor off and muscle through with a smile but my experience tonight was really demoralizing. Each question I asked was met with visible annoyance at my stupidity. After the 4th nasty remark by the associate I wanted to give up but the ice cream I was buying was for a loved one (my mom) and I wanted to surprise her with it. If the owner sees this, please know I have referred so many people your way and my huge family goes to your shop often, but the way we are treated is simply not ok. Please do better. read more

I really wanted to like this place bc I'm all about vibing on local businesses. And this place is an absolute jam. As my friend Dave might say, the ice cream is mad bumpin. Obviously the stuff is hand crafted by people who genuinely care about their fellow quad citizens. Unique flavors get the attention they deserve but I'm a sucker for the "siesta" key lime in a waffle cone every time. I am Iowan so I love Whitey's and their waffle cone BUT I think this place has them beat. Their cone is slightly less sweet which somehow makes it more luxurious. Now I took a date there who I really liked. I thought a scoop of their stuff would give me the boost I needed to get into this girl's league. The ice cream and cones were truly spectacular but they couldn't amp me up from a 3 to an 8. Maybe if they did an oatmeal stout flavor with a 9.3% abv I'd still be in play??
