The Ozaukee county mountain bike group keeps the public up to date on their face book page for trail work and group rides. They have also hosted mountain bike classes at this location. The beginner loop has easy grass and dirt trails to maneuver with few rocks. The intermediate has both hills, rock features and wood to ride over. The advanced loop has berms, bridges, rock features, hills and difficult features have alternates if they aren't for you. The best part about this park is that each loop has easy off access so you can do one or two.. Or all. This park is also home to snow biking in winter, snow showing and hiking trails year round! The hiking trail hosts a large pond and a wooden plank walk with a observation tower overlooking the park from a hill. The fee is free and there is bathroom facilities and a pavilion to park yourself for a lunch after a long ride. Once you master this park then your ready for green bush or any other challenge that faces you! Ride on!!!

This was a pretty nice looking park and I thought that this would make for a nice place to cook out or a picnic. There is a play area and a covered space with tables and rest rooms. There is built in fire pits with chimneys on the roof so you might be able to grill in them. There is plenty of Green space over looking the lake with two parking lots. This is a popular place because plenty of people were around walking the dogs or just walking around. The locals seem to gravitate here and I can see why because it's a nice place. I don't usually review public spaces but I thought I would let people know that this is a cool place out of the Milwaukee area as a destination for a family cook out or what ever. I actually spent about 25 minutes just taking in the winter beauty and I can only imagine how nice it is when everything is green again.

We made our most recent visit during their annual 4th of July festival which is always a great time. They have a whole bunch of local food vendors, a few bars set up around the park, little activities for the kids, plenty of seating, and live music all day. So great! While here our kids of course wanted to make the trek across the park to the playground they saw in the distance. And boy were we so pleasantly surprised at the brand new set up! Previously, it was rickety, wooden and old. Now they're set up has the squishy flooring and all new play-spaces, slides, and swings. To kids, they might not care much either way, but to parents, it's a luxury to have a playground that's update because it means it's safer. In any case, we'll certainly return for this, if not the beautiful beach area too.

This is a beautiful land preserve located just outside of Fredonia Wi. The Ozaukee Washington land…read moretrust oversees this preserve. Parking is limited with just two spots right off of clover valley road next to the trail head sign but you can park along the side of the road. The trail to the top of the hill leads you to a old house remains. Just the foundation remains but it is a really interesting find. There is also the remains of a larger building, possibly a barn at one time. The structure does have some graffiti And we seem to find beer bottles there every time we visit. A hot spot for the local teenagers I'm sure. The trail leads you along a huge grassland area where you can easily spot turkey vultures, Hawks and other large birds hunting for small game. Once you reach the end of the grassland area the trail splits and you can either go up to your left or down to your right. If you choose the upward trail you will hike up and down a trail that winds down from the hilltop into the forest, finishing at the plank walk and looping back to the opposite trail. There is a bench area along this trail. If you choose the downward trail it will take you directly to a plank walk down to Huiras lake. There is a small Pier that goes out onto the lake so you can observe the otters that swim there, or watch the ducks. I am unsure how the fishing is at this lake. There is no boat access from the land preserve. This is a nice place to walk your dog, or to take your family on a nature walk. I have brought my cub scouts here to do bird counts, it's not well traveled and because it isn't you can really enjoy the solitude while there.

It's 83 acres of beautiful scenery, crystal clear water fed from an underground spring, so yesterday's water temperature was 80°. The depth varies from just 4 feet to 60 feet. There is always a slight breeze in the air, which is great for keeping away the mosquitoes. I visited for two days and saw boating, swimming, fishing, and paddle board activity. Fishing here might net you a Panfish, Largemouth Bass or a Northern Pike. Most of the lakefront properties include private docks, but there is a public access dock as well. Just gorgeous!
