Justin and his assistant arrived on time with all of the equipment needed to do the job. The fence was about 20 years old and had fallen into the yard due to weather and rotten posts. They worked hard and completed the job efficiently. Justin was friendly, professional, and answered all of my questions. We decided to leave a portion of the fence that was still in good condition for privacy which I appreciated. The price was very fair. The only issue involved a neighbor questioning why "her" fence was being removed. Justin did have to briefly step onto her property while working and he explained that the fence was not actually on her property. For that misunderstanding, I apologize. Overall, I was very satisfied with the work and would recommend Starr Fence to anyone looking for a new fence, repairs, or fence removal services.

The roof cost $30,000 back then. The company is gone. I have all of the paperwork, the warranties, the original contracts with all of the numbers. The company appears to be closed. (810) 824-4523 is now a fax number, and the fax number is discontinued. Now I have to find someone to repair or replace a roof that was supposed to last, not continuously leak.

Over the course of six months I frequently had to deal with him bringing his personal life issues to me in which he requested money and essentially held my property hostage. I paid a total of $39,837 over 13 different draws due to his constant need for money. The quality of work was sub par. He frequently brought new guys onto the job and I later learned after posting a video on social media showing how he left my project, that there were several local workers who he brought to my home and apparently never paid them. I also had two homeowners and local business owner contact me with similar experiences. I met with them all the stories are identical. Tristen is likable and very good at talking his way into opportunities and then bailing. My last face to face meeting with Tristen was at the job site where he told me he is out of money and cannot finish until he receives the last draw of $2500. I paid him with no other option and then actually drove him to Gaylord to buy parts for his broken truck and then learned he fixed his truck and packed up and left town never doing any thing further at my property. Then he stopped answering the phone, sending me to voicemail and occasionally responding via text. He became short and told me he will finish at his convenience. He would even tell me on several occasions he was in town and leaving Gaylord with materials and guys to finish the job only to arrive there later that day to no one on site, no materials and no sign of anyone being there. That day I called him repeatedly only to realize I had been blocked. I called him from my other number and noticed his voicemail wasnt set up. I went to facebook to realize he blocked me there to and then sent a message to his fiance and informed her if I didnt hear from him in next few minutes Im posting the condition my property was left in on social media. I posted in the Gaylord No Rules group and the messages from others began rolling in. A half dozen people began contacting me from his family, long time friends and ex clients telling me of Tristens ways of operation. I spoke to all of them on the phone and met several in person to hear their story and seen the similarities. I liked Tristen. I trusted Tristen but at the end of the day, I realized this was intentional and how he operates. Use caution when considering hiring him. He claims I am the one who owes him money however I repeatedly requested directly and publicly for him to share the receipts he has totaling $4000 and what it was for. Cabinets, counters, floors, doors and every large ticket item was paid for directly by me, much before he was even on the job. So if he spent $4000 on paint, trim and caulk, id like to see it. But he refuses to deal with anything publicly cause his life is built on lies. Not sure why he is using my photo below to showcase his work. The amount of dust he left on those countertops required me to resand them and recoat them. The floors that required self leveling are more unlevel than a mountain slope. The trim looks like it was done by Ray Charles and was terrible throughout. Nail holes not filled in on trim and door casings. Doors left primed while the rest of the home was painted in sections showing different shades. The list goes on and on and I have over 100 photos showing the quality he left it in before I brought in another contractor. Use discretion and meet every reference in person before you consider hiring Tristen. Id truly save yourself the hassle and hire someone else. He is not licensed, insured or registered with the state. Feel free to reach out. I can share several other peoples contacts who can support my claim. Do better Tristen but just know I tried to work this out and when you block someone who is paid in full and tell them youll finish at your convenience, not everyone is gonna sit back and be taken advantage of. And since you got defensive and cocky trying to protect your reputation and make me look like the one who hasnt paid, Im going to go above and beyond to expose it.
