There is a pretty good choice of chippies around this area but just recently we have taken to using Oceans because a. they deliver and b. they do gluten free. I normally get a small portion (because my mother in law is paying and that's the only option she offers) which is reasonably priced but, take it from me, won't fill you up. The fish always seems succulent and firm and the chips are well cooked. Delivery is cheap and swift.

I queued, I waited until the crowning moment of my chips being handed over in a neatly wrapped bundle warming my cold hands. Others walked off with their well battered fish whilst I munched away at my little lot. I say little, it was a sizeable portion and worth those few pence I paid. This place is quite popular and often has quite a big queue, never a problem though as the staff are efficient and service is spot on. Pretty consistent and always fresh food, with all the expected bits and bobs on offer. Only once or twice have I ever been let down by this place, think they had turned the cookers off a few months ago and was less than impressed with a lukewarm fish that I needed to reheat( I keep going back and that speaks for itself.

Know in advance that Graveley's has no seating so if you like to nosh at a table while sitting in a chair, make arrangements. I ate mine perched upon a bench up the road. If you prefer your fish and chips with lemon and tartar sauce, forget about it. Here you'll find vinegar and salt; ketchup and mayonnaise will cost you .20p per packet. I advise ordering mushy peas and curry sauce. If you are given a choice, choose the sweet curry sauce - it's savory spiciness was quite a delight.
