A boutique and an upscale thrift and a gift shop rolled into one. Costs ranged from a few dollars to almost a thousand (artistic mail boxes). But even though some things were "cute" , most items were way way out of my price range. I'm glad we came. Now I won't be wondering about them.

Several items we thought were interesting were not priced so we took to the front register and the clerk eyeballed the item and made up a price well above our price point. Many of the items were tagged at comparable Goodwill prices and even Walmart pricing for used items and clothing. We observed one couple paying for their items and were charged a dollar more each than the signage posted on the rack stated. Perhaps there is a new management team in place since our last visit. There are plenty of things you might want if ... Also, beware the parking lot is more of a moon landscaping than it is a parking lot with all of the pot holes and craters.

As a customer who shops there as well as donates regularly, i find it offensive that you think people want to buy used shoes or clothes at prices higher than Marshalls or the like. After all whether slightly worn or used they still have had someones pissibly nasty ass or feet in them. If affordable enough wirth the buy as all things can be cleaned. Lets not get confused, if i am going to have to clean etc its cheaper and easier to go to any if the stires mentioned above pay less and not have to deal with the absurd rational behind pricing and bitchy attitudes. 1. Dixie, but as I noted none for the Poverello Live Well Center I thought some entry should be made. Located at 220 NE 12th Avenue, the Poverello Live Well Center is a part of the not-for-profit Poverello umbrella, but just as its location is different, so is its charitable focus. Poverello was originally founded in 1988 when large numbers having complications of AIDS were socially shunned, rejected and dying. The original intent was to provide food as a nourishing medicine. The pantry on Dixie continues to provide such for to over 3,000 families a year and the thrift shop also located there continues to take in donations of used articles for resale in order to support Poverello operations. The Poverello Live Well Center on 12th Avenue is somewhat different in that its design is as a support center for persons living with HIV, providing a safe accepting to receive support and health services. It is here that those with HIV can, in their words, "...access our full service gym, chiropractic services, acupuncture or massage free of charge." As such it provides a vital community service. One day, as a volunteer driver/transporter, I had the occasion to visit the Live Well Center. When I stepped in I was given one of the warmest of greetings and though I wasn't supposed to actually be allowed, as not being a member, to tour their facilities I did sneak my way around. (Shhh! Don't tell.) But what I saw was a complete with all the trimmings gym with some people giving workout assistance and help to others, a pool table play area and a most comfortable relaxing lounge. But what is really so very special about the Living Well Center are the super nice people from all sorts of differing backgrounds not only there to improve themselves but working together to improve the lives of others. For what they do and for the free of charge services they provide to some of our most needy, Poverello's Live Well Center gets my 5 Stars.

After being surprised by Josef's approximately $900 quote to replace the movement of the watch (a standard quartz movement that itself is available for sale online for ~$40) I took the watch to JR Dunn in Pompano--an authorized Tag dealer and repair shop, where Josef's is not--and was quoted less than $300 to have the entire job done, by Tag themselves, with a warranty. Shamelessly quoting 3x a certified dealer for the exact same job is outrageous.

But today was an entirely different experience- I see that there are other comments and reviews for the woman behind the desk- rude and unsympathetic. We walked in and the first thing she said was, "do you have an appointment" and I said No. I asked if my mom could get a pair of shoes and she said "No - you need an appointment- booked for the day"! Then she said quite abruptly "you should have called"...hahahaha- really... I said I was here in Feb. and we just walked in- I asked her when they changed the policy, and she said about a month ago... Unless you are a customer that visits this store every day, how would one know about this policy change? { I viewed the website before I wrote this review and it doesn't even state anything about the required appointment - except: "Appointments for medical issues are highly recommended". Actually, the main webpage states: " We're not your everyday shoe store! Call us today to see how we can help you"! Now that is a pleasant and welcoming statement- too bad they don't carry over that business model into their store.} Then I asked the woman if I could speak to the man who was helping (the one and only customer in the store), and she said "No, you can't" - Hold on whoa!! What is her attitude? Well at that point I turned to my Mom and her aide and said "we are leaving; they are very disrespectful" ...As I passed by the man, I spoke to him directly anyway...asked if he could quickly see my Mom since she is elderly and doesn't get out much....I intentionally spoke to him because unless you are my GOD, you are not going to tell me who I can or can't communicate with...I found out he is the owner and he said he has no staff and he is very ill - of course, I am so sorry for your situation, but you should fire your rude staff person and close up shop now... perhaps you just don't care how you treat people! Karma works in strange ways. Thank goodness for FLEET FEET - they were very accommodating, and my Mom was in her new pair of $150 sneakers within an hour after we left your shop. If I could convince others reading this review not to come to your store then I have accomplished one small deed.
