Britney Covin is a RUDE this has been the WORST place to ever rent from, they never fixed my kitchen window that was broken for 2 YEARS. NEVER fixed a single thing since I've moved in. I had to pay everything out of my own pocket. I have a full paper trail and phone call logs about every single time I've tried to contact them and never fixed anything. I was living in my house for 3 years with NO LEASE because they would NEVER have anyone send me the paper work to sign and fill it out!! HOW DOSE THAT EVEN HAPPEN?! Britney Covin did NOT want to hear me about anything but wanted 6,000 because they closed down my portal to my rent, didn't want to send my ANY information to have that updated. I would give 0 stars if I could. We have had bad experiences with realtor companies while leasing before, but nothing like what we experienced with Key. Soon after moving in we discovered we had a leak in our roof, which then turned out to be several leaks all over the house. During the 12 month period we rented through them they sent maintenance out probably at least 5 times to "fix" it. It was NEVER corrected. We had asked for them to get professional roofers involved since it wasn't getting fix, it must have been beyond what maintenance could take care of. They sent a company out for a quote but nothing ever came of it. We can only assume they didn't want to spend the money on it. So nearly the entire 12 months we had leaks every time it rained, we had ceiling panels swell up with water, ceiling panels fall to the floor, who knows what growing in the framing, insulation and paneling. The last 3-4 months of the lease I was pregnant, so who knows what my baby and I were exposed to living with that mess!!! Had we been able to find a place we could afford sooner we would have broken our lease and moved early, as we would have had a right to. Sadly that didn't happen, but I am still angry our health and well-being was disregarded by this company. We had other complaints and maintenance requests that were never taken care of either, like a front porch that would swell with rain so the front door could hardly open, and the porch felt like it could collapse at any moment since it was most likely rotting. Bottom line, if you care about your families health and safety, steer clear! They may be nice enough people but they don't run their rental properties worth a damn. I have attached some of the pictures I took of various leaks we dealt with during our lease. There were others, some with ceiling tile falling out, but I don't have all of the pictures saved to my current phone to attach them. Please note, at NO point did the leasing office ever seem to consider this an emergency or a health hazard. read more

Communicating the simplest of things is hard with them. They send these old men who have no clues what they're doing to fix things. You'll be charged for basic maintenance. Very unhappy. Our window was broken and after several maintenance request were put in and ignored, we finaly got someone out to fix it. They claimed it was fixed, then not even a few days later, our house was broken into and the broken window is what was used to enter. We had $11,000 worth of items stolen. Not even an apology from Key Property. Now when i try to get in a new house, Key Property claims i owe them money for issues that were put on the move in inventory. They are charging me for replacing light bulbs, utilities they used after we moved out. I cannot get a place to rent because they has ruined my rental history. read more

THE BEST!!! what a well run business this is!!! I switched to Key Property management for my rental home in Abilene about 2 years ago. One of the best moves I ever made. They always have my house rented out to quality tennants at rates that reflect current market conditions. When I call they answer, if I have a question they answer it, if I have an issue they resolve it. I get my payments on time, I know imediatately of any repair issues and they fix them at great prices they even help with my taxes!!! wow. just wow. what else could you want as a property owner? forget the other guys, go see Angie at Key Property mngt. Stunning, jaw dropping fraud from Angie. Presented me with a potential tenant soon after having the property, but the tenant suddenly backed out. Later, the potential tenant name showed up on a bill she presented me for putting up the "for rent" sign my yard. At best, she concealed the employee/employer relationship with this tenant from me, at worst this was a fraudulent offer meant to string me along for some other reason, possibly to get me to accept a lower rate or otherwise discover what I was willing to accept. Went to double check the contract to see if billing me for mundane work like putting up a sign was allowed, and discovered I had lost it in the move. So I asked her to fax it to me, and she immediately became rude. Had to ask half a dozen times and threaten legal action before she finally sent a copy three months later. Expect the copy she sent only had my signature on the last page; the pages I had others initialed came through without those initials. I remember that I initialed those pages, and I remember that she told me not to at the time, which I thought was odd at the time. I believe she threw away the other pages and substituted new ones. Lied about the credit worthiness of the tenants she eventually placed in my home, concealing a bankruptcy from me. Would not honor basic requests. Reported to the Texas Realtor association who eventual slapped her wrist rather than properly follow the evidence provided. She has connections in the state which I belive have shielded her from the consequences of illegal behavior. read more

This place is terrible OMG!!! So I just got off the phone with Teresa, 8-18-22 because I got an email notification about a work order request that had been completed. The work order request was for a new hot water heater in 6-1-22, that's when my hot water went out, the notification was letting the owner know that they had gotten an estimate for a new hot water heater. So now 8-22 and still no hot water, I was told that if I didn't have hot water after a couple of days that I should have called and let maintenance know. It's not the tenant's job to chase down maintenance it's just not, I don't have time to do it and I'm not going to it's the maintenance guys job to let the property know that this is done and complete. If I would have stayed I'd still be waiting on hot water after nearly two months, after 5 days the lease is broken and I can move out. When we did go to break the lease we were charged an additional $1800. When we first moved in my wife had to call the fire department because the dishwasher started smoking, she was ultimately told that the dishwasher is not covered so we never used it again, I called about electrical issues only to be ignored, the ac unit never kept up this last summer it got over 90 in the trailer regularly. I'm only going to submit so many work orders before I realize that you don't care and it's not going to get fixed. Best day of my life recently has been leaving that trailer behind and going to a hotel. read more

I leaved there for 3 years AC was leaking to the point I had black mold I signed a new lease that's when they came out and fixed it and I already have medical problems my chest started hurting and I had to move because of it and they took mostly everything I had because I couldn't stay there and they harassed me all my sentimental stuff is gone because the harassment and mold I didn't have enough time to pack everything before my health got worse and wouldn't let my family get it read more

DEFINITELY would never recommend Key Property Management & Real Estate to anyone! I put a deposit down on a house that wasn't clean yet...big mistake of my own I guess. But they insured me that they would clean the home and the carpet as well. They claimed that they cleaned the carpet THREE TIMES for me, and it STILL smelled terrible! I explained that I did not want to move in with that carpet because the house had a stench of animal urine! They said I would NOT receive my deposit back if I chose not to move in. I moved in, thinking I could convince them to change the carpet or something. They NEVER did. And I guess since I complained about the carpet so much, they harassed us the whole time we lived there. They claimed the swimming pool was bending the skirting of the home, but I had already told them IN WRITING on the inventory sheet BEFORE we moved in that the skirting was all tore up! They came in, mowed my yard while we were gone, (I had like a little patch of grass, out of the whole yard, in the back) and never told us they mowed. We didn't even notice it! When I paid rent the next month, they told me that I owe $125 (Estimate) still, even after paying full rent, for mowing our yard, plus a $5 late fee for each day we did not pay the $20 initial mowing fee. I looked in the lease, and it did not state they could charge a late fee for mowing. They dropped the fees, but we ended up moving out anyways, because we were tired of being harassed! read more

THIS IS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. STAY AWAY!! They are a big fish in a small pond. GO elsewhere unless you want to get treated with contempt and disrespect for expecting anything of them. They will not return your phone calls. They will expect money immediately from you but you will not receive any money until they feel like it. Having a long career in sales myself, I am very familiar with proper phone etiquette. They will attempt to bully you and blow you off. They don't care about your concerns and will not take time to answer your call or allow you to speak. They will conveniently be too busy to talk, no matter your concern. After two weeks of not returning my phone calls, I was hung up on today by Amy for telling her that no one there would give us a straight answer!! They will pass you to someone else, who will pass you to someone else, who will pass you to someone else--and none of them will try to to help you. They will take messages that will never be returned. We simply wanted to know if we were going to receive any rent money from our house (they are mismanaging) this month. Have you ever heard of a company hanging up on its customers????? Neither have I. Go elsewhere!! I know we will. Please save yourself the trouble. Please don't make the same mistake we did. I am writing this to save others the trouble they've put us through. I am astounded at their ineptness. They are COMPLETELY ARROGANT YET TOTALLY INCOMPETENT--except for the receptionists who should be running the place. It is unbelievable they can get by with treating customers this way. I am so frustrated with this company. They are the worse, I rented from many places and never had any problems until I rented from them. I rented from them a year ago and now I got a call from a collection agency stating still owe them. I don't understand why they didn't call or send me a letter when they have that info?? They kept charging me for things that I already paid. They are not military friendly, charge me for 1 month that I didn't even live there when my husband deployed and I gave them a 3 month notice. I have had nothing but terrible experiences with the Key Property team. I had my roof cave in and it took them nearly 3 weeks to come and fix it. As my lease was coming to an end I had began apply to other places and they refused to release my information without charging me a reletting fee, and claimed I could not put my move out notice in early, I had to have my boyfriend, who was not living there, to practically yell at them to finally agree that they were wrong and release my information. I was dogsitting my boyfriends dog for a couple hours (the animal had not even been inside), when the pest control man came and reported that I had violated the lease, the are currently attempting to charge my $450 for the "violation" and this had only occurred after I had informed them that I had no intentions to renew my lease. When I tried to explain the situation they would not listen. The one nice thing about them is they have pest control come once a month to spray your house, the only thing is even if you complain to him about the roaches in the bathroom, the pesticide doesn't work, and I'm convinced he is just paid to come in and report to the office what is going on in the apartment. If you refuse to let him in they will charge you a fee. Even if you pay your rent on time, and do everything they ask they will try and take all your money and treat you like trash. And just to finish it off their customer service is terrible. Do not rent from them. read more

Using Key Property for our rentals has been the worst experience possible. One house was only rented 4 mo/out of 2 years they managed it. Angie continually lied to us and the renters and failed multiple times to follow through. The other house was completely destroyed by renters, we were charged fees, never got receipts, tax documents, information, etc...We have lost time, money and faith in humanity thanks to Key Property. read more
