We've been loyal customers of Key West Hammock Co. for years and get all our hammocks from them--hands down the best quality out there. We once tried cheaper options from Amazon, but returned them quickly: the weave was loose and flimsy. KW Hammocks hold up to sun, rain, or even temperature swings here in Florida and a few times we forgot to bring in from the PA snowy Winters. This is what happened after not using it in the Florida summer. It not only needs to be restrained AGAIN, I had to stain it 2 months after we purchased it, the material is a gross yellow too. I've never seen so many one star versus five star reviews. I've visited this place four days ago looking at the outdoor wall art. Instead, I randomly bought a large hammock. It was delivered to my house with free shipping within three or four days. It's way too early to evaluate the quality. The one in the store seemed really comfortable, and hopefully it will last for years to come. The sales guys were really nice and nothing like the negative responses listed on this thread. Threw in some extra chains at no charge. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about all of their products. I rarely if ever leave a five star review. However, if I did give five star reviews, they would get one. read more

This was a great experience! Jerome was our salesman and so personable! We purchased two hammock chairs and stands. We are so excited for them to arrive at our home. The only negative was that I asked about ordering online and was told it was cheaper in the store. After looking online it would have actually been a little cheaper online but it's okay. As an elite yelper we should have known better to do our research with businesses as we do with restaurants. All consumers must be proactive when making any decisions regarding purchases, as there are businesses that prey on tourist's money & the fact that you probably would not return. We were originally here in mid July 2022. Beware this business which previously has numerous negative feedback both on Yelp and google. The sales lady named Starr very much a sales woman, pitched a free hammock hooks and springs that they normally sell for $100, which we had to carry in our luggage, & weighed a lot. We believed the hooks were free, no we're not free. We paid Approx $1500 which in hindsight was way too much for 1 hammock and double chair swing. Starr assured us that we would receive the hammocks in 2 weeks. Fast forward to this last week, after I generated a call to Key West Hammock, prepaid fur a hammock and matching double seat swing. Went here today and the woman working at the store told us they had a big sale. We asked about the lounge chairs and she said they were only $1199 for a set of 4. I repeated what she said asking if she meant 4 sets with footstools and she said yes. I further commented on the price at $300 per chair and she said yes, it's a great sale. I gave her my card and purchased the set. Upon inspecting the receipt I noticed it said: "set of 2". I brought it to her attention and only then did she say, yes two chairs and 2 foot stools. Very disingenuous sales tactic. We asked for a refund to which she said we would have to wait until she finished with another customer. She then attempted to convince us that it was a great deal for 2 chairs. I wouldn't recommend setting foot in that place. read more

I was taking a stroll with some of the spouses I had met at my hubby's company retreat, when one of them asked if we can check this place out! We were immediately greeted by a friendly, older gentleman and invited us to sit in one of the hammocks as he gave us some information about the hammocks. As soon as I sat in one of them, I was in love! Not only did they look and feel great, they were super comfortable! We ended up purchasing one for each of us. He gave us a great deal, free shipping, and free hardware for easy installation. I received my hammock a week after returning from Key West and loving every single minute I'm on it...that is whenever my daughter is not cozying up inside it as she reads her book! Great hammocks, garbage customer service. I bought a $219 hammock chair from this store last week and made arrangements to have it shipped to my home so I didn't have to carry it back on the plane with me. I made sure to tell the sales guy THREE times that I wanted it in the dark red color, which he confirmed each time. The hammock arrived today...a cream colored hammock. I called their customer service line during normal working hours and got a voicemail each time. Now I'm having to deal with the headache of shipping this one all the way back to Florida and eventually getting someone on the phone to send me the hammock I ordered. Have a good time in the store and check out all the stuff they have to offer...but under no circumstances should you trust them to get your order right when they ship it to you. read more

Purchased a chair hammock and stand 7/11/2020. They did not have any stands in stock. I wanted to have it to surprise my daughter who is flying in on Monday 7/13. The employee called the owner to see if we could purchase a floor model at our request. He said "its your lucky day, not only is he going to sell you a floor model he is giving you a discount" We agreed to keep hammock that was on the stand which was obviously the floor model. They do not deliver, so we made arrangements to rents a truck. On 7/12/2020 we show up with our $80 truck rental, had already purchased the oil to protect the wood stand. I was met inside by the owner who asked me if i was told that the stand we were getting was the one that was outside and very weather. I told him we were given a choice of two floor models that were inside the store. He offered us a refund and said he did not need our business that badly to discount the product that much for a floor model. We did not ask for the discount, he offered it. He also said that we were "offending him "for assuming he would discount his product. So unfortunately, I do not have a swing, wasted our time riding our bikes to Home Depot to rent a truck, I'm out $80 for a truck I did not need, gas and oil that I no longer need. Great experience there in previous years. Horrible experience yesterday morning with 'Bill'. Was our first morning in KW and we were excited and maybe a little over caffeinated when we went in and were joking with salesperson about getting 50% off. It was obviously a joke. First guy laughs and says, gotta ask Bill! When Bill heard this he got very rude. Follows us around making snide comments. As we left I said (yes, very smartassy) "Hope your day gets better!" he literally came out onto the sidewalk to yell at us. He was belligerent and frightening. I'm sure they get drunken assholes in there all the time. This was not the case and it was 9:00 am. Really a bummer because this use to be one of my favorite stops and I always bought stuff. Have loved stopping in the store and browsing for years. This trip, we finally splurged and bought a hammock chair and stand, shipped home for "free." Chair was $125 and the stand was $250. The next morning, I saw the shop was selling the same chair on Wayfair.com for only $69.99 (http://www.wayfair.com/KWHammocks-B39071.html). Stopped back in and the sales person acted as if he was completely unaware that the company he worked for was selling the same chairs substantially discounted online and didn't offer up any sort of refund or resolution, which was surprising since it was a 44% difference in price. So, enjoy shopping in the store, but be sure to check online before making any purchases. Chances are, you'll be able to buy a pair of chairs or hammocks from them online for the same price as they'll sell you in person, in the store. The hubby and I walked rather willingly into this store four and a half years ago while on a jaunt to Key West. We'd walked all over Key West and were ready to give our tired dogs a well deserved rest. I think we stayed there for over and hour. I fell in love with the Hammock Chair. After 15 minutes of a well presented plea to the hubby, who at the time couldn't fathom $170 on an outside chair we could only use in summer at home, we ordered this lovely creation. Shipping was free and thus easy. Set up was a breeze at home. Now the hubby is a believer and this is his favorite spot of all our patio furniture. And we have some comfy seats. It's a pretty consistent fight between the kids and him. I love that the hammock can hold up to 300 lbs. it's big enough for cuddle nights looking at stars with a nice fire in the chimnea. It's big enough for my 6'5" hubby to stretch straight out and sleep on the few lazy evenings we have. It's still as good as when we put it up four and a half years ago. Ordered a hammock from the St. Armands Circle location in Sarasota. We received no hammock after a full month. I tried multiple times to call the store to get the issue fixed but got the run around. Spoke with one man who said "let's wait a little while to see if you get it". I did, two weeks passed... no hammock. Left voice mails, e-mails, with no response or answers. Finally, I called with a blocked phone number and they just so happened to answer. Interesting... And the guy knew exactly who I was without me having to say much. I did receive a refund, and the product would have been nice, which is why they get a three star. Their service needs major improvement, especially for products that are overpriced. While in Key West last Thursday 5/17 we stopped in the Key West Hammock Company. Shalon was the sales representative who approached us. She was friendly and told us to feel free to walk around, Sit and enjoy the hammocks. She said if you need anything or have any questions to let her know. Well we tried out every hammock and they all were very comfortable. There was a nice selection. I did make a purchase and was told me hammock swing would be here in4-5 weeks. I didn't experience any negativity. My experience was a very good one. I didn't read these reviews until after my purchase. Worst "after sale" customer service I've ever experienced! My husband and I visited KWH early March during a week long vacation in Key West and quickly made a $300 purchase of a jumbo hammock and jumbo pillow to accompany it. I took several a photos of the pieces we purchased. We were told the order would be packed immediately and arrive at our home by the time we returned from vacation at the end of the week. The sales associate, Jessica gave us her card and wrote her telephone number on it, saying to call her if we needed anything else in the future. The hammock and pillow arrived 2 weeks late, but that wasn't a problem for us. Despite what we purchased, which was confirmed on the written order and receipt, the a brown pillow arrived, not the bright red one we ordered. I immediately called KWH (got no answer, but left a voice message) and emailed KWH to alert them of their error and inquired how to return the brown pillow and get the red one. With that initial email I included the the photos I had taken while in the store of what we ordered and a photo o the brown one that we received, I thought it may be unnecessary to include the photos, after all, how could you confuse the color red with the color brown? Yet, I attached all the photos to the email anyway. After a few days with no response, I called again (no answer, had to leave another voice message), emailed KWK , and then called the number Jessica wrote on her card ( I left a message, there was no answer) as well as texted a message to her (it was marked "delivered"). A few weeks later I received (and was charged again for) a second pillow... AGAIN, brown, not red! I began the frustrating process of multiple emails, calls and texts get the 2 brown pillows I did not order (but paid for) returned (and credited to my charge account). As of today, almost 3 months later, KWH has ignored my emails, calls to the store, to the telephone number Jessica gave me and voice messages to correct an error they made twice. Surprisingly on May 1st, 2 months after the sale, I received a cryptic email from an Alex Lawson at KWH. He wrote "I called you 4 times just yesterday". His claim was both untrue and insulting ! My cell phone had no missed calls and no there were no voice messages from him. I wrote back telling him to check the cell phone number I provided in each of the 8 prior unanswered emails I sent to KWH, adding that I had no missed calls and no voice mail from him (I foolishly added "but thank you for trying") and asked for a telephone number where I could reach him since he has a problem reaching me....that was 3 weeks ago! Shame on me for expecting KWH to do the right thing after 3 months of doing the wrong thing (as well as nothing). Im not sure what they hope to accomplish by ignoring their customers and refusing to correct their mistakes. Upon reading the reviews KWH gets on various review platforms, I see this pattern of ignoring customers and refusing basic sales courtesy is the status quo for them. read more

I was vacationing in Key West FL the last week of February and one of the stores I went to was the hammock store, Brad was very helpful and informative and a hoot to talk to, he set up delivery (3 weeks) as I live in Washington State and gave me his direct number if I had any problems, when I didn't hear when delivery would be I contacted Brad and he called back to hear of my concerns and then researched the delivery date and contacted me the next day, unfortunately I had written my email address wrong, but he informed me that my hammock and frame would be delivered the next day, which it was. We have been coming to Key West for over 20 years. We have always loved stopping in the hammock store. This time we actually were going to buy something here but the salesperson was such a complete jerk (nicest way to say it). We were in the store for less than 5 minutes. He literally said he couldn't help other people because we were wasting him time (since we didn't know exactly what we were interested in i.e. we were shopping). We would not buy something from here if we were billionaires and desperately needed a hammock. This company will be out of business soon if they don't get control of their incredibly rude staff. We ordered a hammock in the store for our anniversary on feb 14th and told it would take 8 weeks. It is now four months and no hammock with stand. We have had to do all the phone calls over last months to follow up, there has been no calls on their part to tell us what is going on. If I could rate no stars I would. First time in key west to celebrate my birthday. As my group is walking down my roommate who LOVES hammocks wanted to go into the hammock store. We go to musical festivals where we actually do use hammocks and at our houses. Well as my group we all sat down not even a solid 3 mins David comes up to me and my friend asking if we needed help. My friend says we're just checking it out (literally we were interested key word here is were) and he said well people coming in won't be able to test them out. WOW. Great customer service you have. I was there on a girl's trip and we found this place and relaxed in their hammock chairs for awhile. I had always wanted one for our covered back patio back in Denver but hadn't gotten around to doing my research. Brad was great and explained the install and answered all my questions. For $217 a jumbo hammock chair with the install kit was on its way to Denver and arrived less than a week later. Once it was installed we knew we had room for a second one. I was able to order the exact same hammock and install kit from Caribbean Hammock through Amazon for $144. Islands/vacation spots are expensive places to live so I don't feel too bad about paying more for the first one and we relaxed there a couple other times on our walks down Duval. The extra $73 was nothing compared to an extra $2270 for a painting I fell in love with that was for sale at an art gallery there vs buying directly from the artist--glad I waited until I got home and researched that one a little more! read more

Like many of the other reviewers we wandered in to browse. We left with a hammock! The sales person was very attentive and helpful. We tested a few hammocks and then he mentioned 100 off if we order in the store. (I checked, it was indeed 100 more online). He seemed willing to negotiate and said there is no sales tax and he would ship it for free. He made it seem like he was giving us a bargain but there is free shipping on everything over $99, per the website. The hammock itself is very high quality and incredibly comfortable. I called to follow up on the shipping and the person that answered was very curt with me, expecting me to have a model number on hand. He then referred me to the company in Vermont where they purchase the hammocks. The woman there said they are a little behind on orders but that mine would be coming soon. So basically, they are just a reseller of the hammock company in VT, which has it's own website with similar prices. read more
